  1. I just got some -7's put on last week on friday. They are the same spec as the GT-SS turbos. They have a bigger turbine housing and the same compressor as the standard turbos. I noticed a fair bit of difference in power still. Not anythying like 100rwk or anything but more. Lag is almost the same except it's alot smoother than the standard turbos. Not so much nothing, nothing, nothing then power. I've heard -5's are laggy aswell but mechaninc said they are great to get more horsepower and wanted me to get them but i didn't want them. So if you want more horsepower get the -5's if you want better response get -7's.
  2. I bought a brand new K&N panel filter on sunday from my local autobahn and it cost $75 for my 32 gtr.
  3. My problem is i don't like the feel of my new clutch and was after an opinion of weather to try a lightened flywheel or replace the JB clutch with The twin plate i originally had. It is still working and has meat on the plates. I don't have the money to waste to just chuck around on getting the lightened flywheel and installing it. I only got the clucth because i was in need of one desperatley(long story) and didn't have to many other options. It seems most people would keep the JB clutch and possibly try out the lightened flywheel.
  4. Well thats not my problem. I tried with carby cleaner today and not a single change in revs. Oh well. I guess i can live with it. I have since i had the car.
  5. I still get smoke out the exhaust(cause it's running rich) when i give it sum because i drive like a pansy most of the time and the computer makes it self run rich when you gun it after driving like a pansy for a while.
  6. Hey when i did clean out my AAC valve the idle did drop. It dropped from 2000 to 1500rpm. So it did sorta help. My mechanic is gonna do your test after i get my new turbos put in the car tomorrow. Hopefully that is the problem so i can finally get it fixed or atleast no what the problem is. At the same time i sorta don't want it to be it cause it sounds expensive. Is it bad to drive around with a leak there?? Is there a quick intermediate fix for it?
  7. His full monty clutch is off the shelf. He has them in stock. They aren't exactly built for each application and mine wasn't custom made. I'm sure he does have different versions to suite different needs though just as exedy, os, orc, etc do as well. I'm not bagging the quality of them as they are great and have been proven to be almost unbreakable but i just feel i may have made a backwards step in how i wanted to get my car setup eventually. I might try a lightened flywheel as soon as i can to see if it feels any better driving it. I'm not gonna do anything real soon. I'm just gonna think about all the options first. I have busted two clutch boosters with my twin plate for various reasons so atleast getting the JB clutch will hopefully stop that issue.
  8. Ahhh this could be the cause of my idle being around the 1500-1700rpm mark. Everyone always suggested the AAC valve but never this. Might try this when i get my car back. How much would it cost to get this fixed if this is my problem???
  9. Yeah and he was only there for 45 minutes for a dentists appointment. That sucks hard. I hate people who steal shit!!! It frustrates me. Well good luck getting it back and hope you get it back in good condition and they find these people.
  10. My friend had his silver s15 stolen from there as well today. You might have seen him there today as well. His plates were MYS-15X. His car was insured luckily. Maybe you'll both get lucky and get them back..
  11. This happened to me only a couple weeks ago. It was a cheap $2.50 fix for new hose.
  12. lol... I think i've seen those pics before. Looked nasty.
  13. I have no doubt that the clutch is good and will handle hard launches. Is a single as good for track usage? Someone mentioned to me that twin's don't stress out some components as much every time you put the clutch in and out. Is this true? I might give the lightened flywheel a go. Just sick of the crap response from the standard flywheel. AHHHHH i don't know what to do. I might have to ponder on this for a bit.
  14. Hey guys i was just wondering your thoughts of getting rid of my jim berry clutch and putting back in the os giken twin plate. I really don't think i like the single plate clutch feel. Seems to jerk alot more when disengaging(howerver it's spelt) and having a standard flywheel is really giving me the craps because of the lack of response. If i get a lightend flywheel i have to take the clutch out anyway to solve one of the problems so is it worth putting the twin plate back instead? The twin plate still has some meat on it and my car isn't really pushing heaps of power so it's not gonna eat through it quickly. If you were in my situation what would you do? Thanks for advice.
  15. I'm just on nengun and they are actually cheaper than the 2860r's. Only thing is they take so dam long to get here. By the way, the 2860r's do come with actuators aswell. I am also getting the gaskets and what not aswell for around the $3k mark.
  16. I'm getting some 2860-7r's soon actually. The turbos with gaskets are around the $3k mark(no more gerrett's from sliding performance otherwise $2.4k) and the labour is around the $600 mark.
  17. Thanks guys that was the problem. It was cracked at the little black box end. I just cut it of for now and later on today i will go to the shops and get some rubber hose. I don't think i will be able to keep it like this for long because it barley reaches now and definatley will crack again i can tell.
  18. Cheers. I'll have a look at it tomorow. A bit to dark now. Hopefully thats all thats wrong. ps: Just realised this is in the wrong section... whoops!
  19. Hey guys, On my drive back to Sydney from Tassie my boost guage stopped working. I could feel something strange happen to the car like a jolt or something when it actually happened. Still makes boost and drives fine but the guage just sits at 0. When you turn it off it goes to -7 so i assume when it's on it's getting enough voltage to do something but it doesn't change or something. The guage does not move at all. My question is, does this signal come from the ECU or somewhere else? I have taken it apart and doesn't look like any stuffed joints in the guage.
  20. I had my master cylinder go a couple weeks ago. Ended up having to drive with no clutch for 2-3 weeks. Got real good at it aswell. Only proplem is having to turn off your car and start it in gear everytime you come to a stop. Was embarassing at first but got over it. lol.
  21. I went from stock to an os giken twin plate and stalled straight away. I got so used to it an loved it after a while. Now i have a JIm Berry clutch of some sort and it's a single plate. I hate it after about 4 days of driving it. It's too light, it's too easy(sounds good but it ain't) to drive and i hate not having a lightened flywheel now. I feel like i'm driving my sisters charade. I have a feeling i'll be going back to a twin plate soon.
  22. Might be interested in the ECU if i find out that it's my ECU stuffing up my std boost guage. Will you sell seperatley? How good is the F-CON S on a standard GTR?
  23. I got a flyer about them on my windscreen about this a few weeks back. It was actually scary cause i was in South Hobart at night and left my car for 2 mins and this was on there and i didn't see anyone. Makes me wonder how quick people can be that steal cars. NOt that i'm saying these people steal cars lol.

    Need Help!

Hey guys, I found a problem with my car. My clutch booster is leaking. Where would i go here to find a second hand one? Is there any wreckers here that would have one?? I will most probably go to a clutch and brake place to get it installed but i just need to know where abouts in the state to get one. Anyone got one lying round they don't need??? This is the second time it's happened to me. I have a twin plte oz giken and it's extreemly heavy and i have a feeling this is why its gone AGAIN!!! would a bigger clutch cylinder help this??? Thanks for any help. Cheers, Johnny!
