Thats because my friend your DR had near on stock suspension....Mine handles very well in the hills thank you, even if the spring rate can be decreased a tad haha!!! Wouldn't mind taking an MX5 for a blast though, they look like nippy little things to punt around!

Ok are you working friday or will you be around??? I'll come around and show you how to get it out...I don't rekon its your alternator though, cause the car still run's doesn't it once its started??? I'd take it back to jaustech, tell them its now drained 2 battery's and to fix it properly like they should've the first time...and or take it to an auto elec, cause to me it sounds like you've got a drain somewhere

Are you sure you don't have some sort of a drain somewhere within the car?? No old alarms or anything like that electrially in there that would cause a drain?? Air con is all on the other side mate....You've gotta undo the nut on the front of the tensioner, and then you can undo it, its pretty easy, just stand back and work it out from looking at it....

Who worked on the car Adam??? To get the alternator out, do the usual stuff, like belts yada yada, but take the whole bracket off that bolts to the motor otherwise there just isnt enough room to get the alternator in and out...Trust me i've done it like 3 times in 3 months, its a bitch but you get good at it

Yup pretty sure there are differences, brakes (as mentioned), diff (pretty sure its an open wheeler not a viscous as in the turbo models), don't know about gearbox, but if they changed motor's then they might've bought a complete engine package and changed that all over at the same time.. But all in all nice looking ride, where abouts in Whyalla are you situated?? My mum and little bro lives up there, little bro works @ Bridgestone and mum works in one steel....

Yeah saw that yesterday to turning right onto bridge road from grand junction road, looked sweet as!! Seen a Wb one tonner ute last thursday night get defected on main north road near jarvis ford (we were looking at cars in the car yard mmmmmm XR6 turbo), super charger outta bonnet, loud as all hell, half cage, sounded tough as, plates on it GIDDYUP woulda made some serious power, got pulled into RBT and done...Mate who i was with said to him nice car and his reply "it was a nice car" right before he got the defect notice...Poor bastad

Its like anything, spend cheap and get cheap, spend more and get a good one, i think 5k you'll be lucky to get one, i've seen them but they are cops, would take x amount of dollars to fix up...Budget like Adam said around 10k mark and you'll find some mint one's, mate of mine just sold his for 10k, and it was fairly mint, just look around cause there are some cops out there as with any car....

did you forget to fit some wiring back up when you changed motor's Adam??? Take it to jaustech and get them to look at it, it could be a million and one issues, if you've replaced all the wiring between the alternator/starter motor/battery, and its all done up, make sure its not earthing out on the brace for the plenumn as mine was...otherwise seek professional help!!

changing the alternator is a drive way job son, should take about an hour or so, i wouldn't be stuffing around with changing regulators, if you've got a number for the alternator just get a new alternator, and keep the other one for a spare
