  1. Yeah Im totally for the carpark idea, problem is that the popo generally see a group of cars and ask you to move on. If you have 100+ skylines in one area with bonnets up and so forth they would have a field day. Hence the importance of hiring a venue and doing it legit. But as I said I just finished one with Ausrod and know the in's and out, legalities and the right way to do it if your interested. If you wanta do a carpark thats fine but you would need to be very carefull, not to mention if a complaint is made by the owner/manager of said location, as then your in real trouble as it can be considered trespassing and the police can detain you and your vechicles. ie. Like when they shut down Aspley McDonalds and run everyones cars through a shaker unit til the early hours of the morning... Also hence why the SCC was done on "hired land", this way no one can be touched by said 'popo'
  2. Thanks guys, I had a nice day and got heaps of cool stuff... I will look forward to getting over my cold and running my car at the dyno day this weekend. See some of you there... Thanks again... Yeah 12 months ago yes I have a birthday too...
  3. Yes, good point... I did not think of that...
  4. I would love to find out how fast a 5 second run would feel, but unfortunatlly Im sure its one of those things Ill never get to experience... Just something else to add to the list right under pilot a space rocket...
  5. Probablly not Josh... Your quite passionate about this arent you...? PS> I like skidpan, I like trackdays, I like drag racing, I like drifting, I like being a qyno queen, I like them all evenlly... Any motorsport, any cruise, any thing to do with a car and im interested...
  6. My last allignment was conducted by "Tyrepower" at Geebung... Usually I would use Fulcrum however at the time they were busy and could not service me that week... So I tryed Tyrepower and they were pretty good, I had un-even tyre wear before visiting them and they fixed up that issue Anyone with a decent modern wheel alingment machine can do a good job. Its really only when you want track proven race setups that you need to get specific with wheel aligners and machine operators...
  7. Hey Aron, probablly something you would need to run past/through the club mate... Its been looked at before and the biggest issue is public liability insurance... Mud and I could shead some light on this fact if nessary as we both looked into it in the past 2 years... Its very costlly and hard to get, not to mention hire of a location and then you would need major sponcership to pay for the event (possiblly admission also)... There are a million things to look at that not many realise are needed (not just legal aspects)... Example of a weird one is, you need enough toliets so there is one toliet for every 100 heads. So if the location you hire only has one male and one female that means you can only support a total of 100 heads as its assumed in the eyes of the law that there are equal numbers of males and females reguardless of the circumstances. So assume you attract 400 people you would need to then hire some portable toliets (which are rather expensive). Happy to help you point in the right direction as I just finished helping AUSRODS (QLD Hotrod club) with their last show and shine event at Strathpine 3 weeks ago... So ive done it before and understand the hurdles and whats needed... More than happy to have a chat to you about it tho...
  8. Eug should tune up and N/A GTR...
  9. Dont worry about the numbers, other car clubs were able to help out to make it work...
  10. Plus I had work to do at the new house, so I spent the weekend digging... Fun as water torture...
  11. I saw the price of entry and thought, not worth it... There used to be a time when Id never miss a top fuel event but the entry fees are getting stupid...
  12. PM it to him, and I plz...
  13. Not sure why your so passionate about this subject Shane... I think you should have a look at yourself before casting judgement on others... Im not kissing anyones butt, im being a fence sitter/moderator/mediator as I usually do. When a "workshop" thread arises I simplly point out every time that there is always to sides two a story. Also that for every bad story you hear there is usually a good one. Everyone has had a problem with someone along the line with their car. You too have had bad experiences with workshops that others trust. Its life, deal with it but there is no need to add fuel to a fire you didnt start. As they say people in glass house's should not throw stones... Settle down, take a chill pill. Your point is not coming accross very well cause your insulting people... You catch more fly's with honey rather than vinegar...
  14. Love the coloured smoke... Seen it a few times and cant get enough of it...
  15. <<<<<NOEL>>>>> or
  16. Yeah I know what ya mean... Good Luck...
  17. In a dress Noel???
  18. Spectators are welcome, you can come along and have a look, no problems...
  19. LOL I had to read it twice to get your on about... This is the new "fresh" topic of the week... BTW. What was said above is true!!! Pm is the way to go, the business being named may not like it either, as its sorta bad publicity...
  20. I think he is speaking in drag queen terms
  21. There is certainly no rock up and pay, otherwise I would not have put this effort into the event. If you wanta run get in contact with SMR33 straight away and pay your payments Tuesday morning as Ill be taking her list as gospel on Wednesday night.
  22. I was simply stating there is always two sides to every story... I dont know the second side hence why I didnt reply...
  23. The cut off date for payments has passed... I have to say im am disapointed with lack of payments from those whom said they would attend. Never the less this event is still a goer and we are still holding it reguardless... Those whom have not paid for their spots and still wish to attend, you need to contact SMR33 via pm straight away and make their payments first thing Tuesday... So she can keep and eye out for them... Also those whom have paid already and have not had their payments confirmed also please PM SMR33 to confirm payments status... Its gonna be an awsome day!!!
