  3. MISFIRE PROBLEM SOLVED Disclaimer: This information is provided for your information only, anything you choose to do with this information is completely up to you and in no way will I, Skylines Australia or any affiliates be held accountable for following said actions, causing damage or harm to you or your car. I know a lot of us have misfire problems with our RB engines, and we try so many things to try and solve the problem. I’ve had a misfire problem that I have been trying to fix and I have fixed it now I thought I would post a bit of information on what I did, learnt and read and hopefully if you have a misfire problem you can fix it too. Firstly, a misfire is a “pa pa pa pa” type of sound that usually happens on heavy load, but can also happen on light load and also a slight miss when your car is idling. Here are a few things you can do to try and fix this problem: 1. Clean the Air Flow Meter (AFM). Use “Carby Cleaner” and spray around the AFM and also spray on the small piece of wire inside. 2. Check the coil packs for hairline fractures. If you have aftermarket coils (Eg: Spitfire Coils) this shouldn’t be a problem it is more the stock coils as they are common problem with the RB engines. The cheap way to fix them is to remove them from your car and then use silicon around them all to cover up the hairline fractures. Otherwise, you can buy a new set of coils best bet would be buying Spitfire Coils. 3. Clean out the inside of the coil packs where the spring is inside. I used “Carby Cleaner” for this and worked a treat. Just spray the Carby Cleaner at the spring inside allow it to dry before putting it back in. 4. Replace your spark plugs Depending what RB engine you have, power it is putting out and the boost that you are running will depend on what spark plugs you should use. If either of the above doesn’t fix your problem, then you should get your Fuel Flitter checked, also check if you have any knocks, you may want to try and get your injectors cleaned, check your 02 Sensor and also check your igniter module. I hope this will help a few people in resolving there misfire problems with there RB engines. All the best, and good luck!
  4. I think I have fixed the problem. I cleaned the coil packs and put in new spark plugs, again. I used BKR6E Iridium Spark Plugs. Thanks for all your help!
  5. V Power Racing (100% with 5% ethonal) I've had the fuel filter checked, no knocks, injectors have just been cleaned. Not 100% sure on he 02 sensor, but when it was in the performance shop they said they checked everything. They said it was most likely my coil packs but since the rebuild had just been done then I couldn't get it on the dyno and rev it too high.
  6. Hey, I've got a RB25DET I was wondering what the timing should be set at? I've heard 15DEG and also heard 20DEG. Apparently, 15DEG is for manual and 20DEG is for automatic? Can a few people confirm this? Also, any sources would be great, the manual doesn't say anything about it.
  7. I've put in all new BKR7E spark plugs. Took it for a run it popped/misfired between 6000 and 6500RPM then changed gears, didn't seem as bad as it was when it was popping/misfiring between 6000 and 7000RPM. Went to a friends after taking it out, on the way back I wanted to see if it would still do it, and I had no problems. Now, here's the problem; This has happened before, it will miss/pop then run fine for 1-2weeks then it'll pop/misfire again. I can only hope the heat range 7 plugs doesn't cause it to pop or miss in a couple of weeks. Any comments, suggestions?
  8. I have tried BKR6E also and had the same problem. After I cleaned the AFM I only had the misfire from 6000-7000RPM and not 4000-7000RPM. I have been told to try heat range 7. I got a set of BKR7E. Should I give it a go? Only mods are; Modifications: - K & N Pod Filter - Cold Air Intake - Forged Pistons - Strengthen Conrods - Blueprinted - Balanced - Port Polished - Metal Head gasket - Spitfire Coils - High Performance Timing Belt - High Performance Spark Plugs - Gready Turbo Timer
  9. Thats what I thought. Stupid Autobarn. Would having the heat range at 5 cause this to happen? I've been told by many to use the heat range 7. I'm running stock boost, coil packs are fairly new spitfires. Thanks for your help Craved!
  10. Hey, I've had a problem I have been trying to sort out, that is the car popping/misfire on load at 4000RPM and above. I have cleaned the AFM and put in PFR5G spark plugs in. I have fixed the problem from misfire from 4000RPM - 6000RPM from there it will pop and hesitate between 6000RPM - 7000RPM before changing gear (automatic) Any ideas?
  11. I deal with Investments Properties etc, send me a PM I'll get some info to you if you want?
  12. Try the Wheels and Tyres section on BoostCruising.com there have been a few stock wheels for sale with good tread too.
  13. What state are you in? Here is one for $30. http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....howtopic=187030
  14. Check the For Sale section, I've seen a couple in there.
  15. It would be nice to put a new one on my car too. I think most of the skylines with the "GTS25T" sticker on them are rooted. Have you tried Nissan, or a local sticker making company? Surely, it couldn't be too much.
  16. I think you can buy them direct from Nissan for around $70-$90. A bit steep in price, I'm sure you could find one fairly cheap at a local Import Wrecker yard.
  17. Can I please have my nickname changed to "ThugishPimp". Thanks.
  18. I've got that kit on my car, I can't find the indicators for them in Brisbane, where did you get yours from?
