  2. The new link range is supposed to be pretty good and they are well priced at 1200+gst nzd for the base model which will run a skyline no problems.
  3. Ive had 2 of them They are a GTS25 which is an ECR32 on the chassis tag. As far as i know they were not made until 91 so an 89 probably has had a conversion.
  4. when i pulled the head apart on my r32 most of the cam cap bolts were seized some were so bad they had to be pressed out once the caps were removed. I thought it was because the motor had a lot of sludge in it from a severe lack of servicing. a reconditioner told me it is a common problem.
  5. The boxs are damm heavy too so doing it by yourself may result in "help im stuck can someone get this farkin gearbox off of me"
  6. gts25 front are 280mm x 28mm and use single piston calliper i cant remember the size of the rears but both are the same diameter but th gts25 ones are thicker and are vented. gts are solid non vented. both have single piston callipers. the gts fronts are smaller diameter than the gts25 ones but are vented and single piston calliper.
  7. That wire may be the timing loop which comes off of the switched wire on the coil on #1 cylinder.
  8. Check for a vacume leak like a leaking manifold gasket or intercooler pipes and all the vacume hoses even a small leak can cause problems. The easy way to check for a leak is to have the engine idling and spray engine start over all the hoses inlet manifold and intercooler pipes if there is a leak the engine will rev up or splutter when the engine start gets sucked in.

  10. I use a vn commodore coil pack and 4ms dwell that gives a very impressive spark. Not to worried about the coil as they are cheap and easy to get.
  11. i dont have a dyno sheet or hp as the car has not seen a dyno yet. The turbo i have is a to4e, O trim .84 exhaust housing with t3 flange. 50 trim .6 ar compressor rated to 500hp. It makes 15psi by 3500 rpm on the rb30.
  12. I use one on my rb30 works well. Deffinatly worth getting at half the price of a ball bearing garret.
  13. I dont know about s13 subframes but my r32 gts doesnt have hicas so maybe find a subframe from one of them. Or you could buy a lock bar then you still have toe adjustment.
  14. Cheers for the info. I might look into getting a r32gtst master cylinder and see how that works. Maybe the r33 has a different pivot point on the pedal compared to the r32.
  15. We have bleed the brakes twice now and replaced the brake fluid so i would think all the air would be gone. It is more that the pedal has a longer travel than is spongy.
  16. I have just finished putting a set of r33 turbo brakes onto an r32 gts. The brakes work very well but the pedal is a bit soft and has no feel to it. What i need to know is do i need a master cyliner off of an r33 as well to fix the problem, If the problem is caused by a mis match of master cylinder to callipers. Has anyone else done this if so, how well do your brakes work?.
  17. I put r33 brakes on my r32 every thing bolted straight on. The rears i had to completly strip all the hubs and put all the r33 bits onto the r32 hubs(my r32 was 4 stud). With the fronts you are going to need to get a set of s14 turbo struts and lower control arms. Dont forget to get the brakehoses as the turbo ones are different.
  18. they are not r33 the short metal pipe and hose bracket is different. I would say r32 or 300zx which i believe are the same. They could easily be used on a r33 though.
  19. My r32 had a cold start problem aswell turned out to be the start signal to the ecu. There is a fuse in the fuse box under the dash that is the start signal mine was blown. I replaced the fuse now it starts well when cold.
  20. I use one it is a peice off shite. i had to take the adjuster bolt out to get it to open and even then it takes a throttle off at around 10 psi plus to open it. as soon as i have the money i will get a real one.
  21. For those who want a longer cable for there forward facing plenum. I used a throttle cable from a u12 bluebird with an sr20de in it and it fits perfectly.
  22. I broke an oil pump trying to leaver one off so in the end i cut it off with an angle grinder.
  23. I use wasted spark on my rb30 i brouht a new vn coil pack for around $100 the leads cost about $60. I changed the dwell time to 4ms(link ecu) and at idle you have to pull the lead a long way off of the plug for it to drop that cylinder then you get a bloddy big shock.
  24. I have a to4e on a rb30 with .82 exhaust housing it only just fits on over the studs on the standard manifold (it has a t3 flange). It is a little laggy so a bigger housing on a smaller engine will be really laggy.
  25. I helped a mate put one on his r32 which is running a rb25det the best thing about it was being able to remove the airflow meter.
