yeah that was the first thing I asked....... they said forget about it, it wont help. I was suprised at that... do resonators make that much of a big difference?? maybe i should get a second opinion ay???

Hi all, I just recently received a lovely EPA notice in the mail to get my exhaust tested for noise. I personally didnt think my car was that loud - but it does fail. The new EPA laws state that the noise needs to be under 90db, including when you back of (the drone/rev down also cannot go over 90db) I have a R34 4-Door with a Blitz NUR Spec cat back exhaust - what exhausts/options do I have to get her quiet but still let her breath with a good exhaust??? I want to make it a permanent change - not a quick fix just so i can get the EPA off.......

hey guys, i meant head light.... was lazy and half asleep last night when i posted this up. seems like i need a special screwdriver to open the cover and change the bulb for the head light. i'v got the Xenon ( i think that's how you spell it... ) head lights

hello all, i know this is a stupid question. do i need a special screwdriver to change my light bulb in my headlights?? cant find anywhere to open it and there looks like there's a wierd shaped screw holding a cover on the back of the headlight..?? i did try to search for a previous thred on this but couldn't find one. cheers!

Two stage boost thingy? blink.gif" I'v been told that they have this by a few people.... have had the car only bout 4-5 month..... when ever it didnt go quite the best i just thought it was just having a moment or something.... but lately i noticed im actually not getting as much boost when its not goin good?? Question: by the factory gauge and stock boost... where should the needle go to?? first line after the 0, or a bit more?? I'll try cleaning the afm - see how that goes... I'v noticed, once i start it and drive, the first few times i punch it when its warmed up - it hammers.... then, if i put my foot down again only a few mins later.... it hits less boost and dont go as good....???? it's really SHoIIITING ME!!!!

Hi all, My R34 seems to have a mind of it own with how much boost it runs. the car is stock besides cat back exhaust and pod filter. when its going good, the boost gauge will go up about half way between the last and second last line on the stock gauge. The next time i put my foot down, it will only boost up to the first line after 0 on the gauge....???? and you can really feel the lack of power!! i know these cars have that 2 stage boost thingy...... could the second stage not be kickin in and not getting the full 7psi or whatever stock is...???? and this is completely random.... after 30mins of goin like crap..... it will start boosting again.... anyone else had this..??? any help will be appreciated.

ummmm.... injectors!!!! if your talking about a silent ticking sound that sounds like clock work exactly in beat.... its your injectors.... perfectly normal!!! a loud ticking/taping sound that comes and goes (louder when engine is cold) thats your lifters. my R31 (RB30ET) has loud lifters the whole time Iv had it (7 years now) - they tap litteraly when they feel like it, never changed them, never were a problem anyways!! From what everyone is describing - its ya injectors!! and dont stress - they're supposed to do that! tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick..................

cheers! yup!! dun know how new it is, but yeah I prefered the double din over the single slide out ones. thought i'd pop up a few pics of my new baby too!! only had her for about 3-4 weeks or so... fair upgrade from a 31 One question..... it picks up radio stations really bad!!! any reason that anyone can think of??

I took one of the pics with the face opened when you change cd's, it just clears the gear lever when in 1st, 3rd and 5th which im rapt about!!! i thought it was going to knock the gear lever!!!

ok, with a bit of tlc its off!! so the speakers are going in now.... i still cant find that hole (story of my life! lol jk) ontop of the accelerator pedal???

ok, found the problem.... long story short, dodgy multimeter!!! lol (thats why you dont buy cheap ones... lol) and yes i did throw it against a wall!!! lol next question, is there a factroy hole in the firewall somewhere where i run the power cable for the amp? and the parcel shelf - how do you take it out? I have these wierd metal brackets right across the speaker holes and they gota go if im gona put speakers in there. I found the rear speaker cables, they were hidden near the speaker holes and sticky taped Im planning on finishing this today so i'll post up some pics once its done!

ok, I hadn't had a chance to instal my system yet... i started playing this morning, plugged the harness i got from chris (thankyou chris!! ) and now i have no power at all, no constant, acc voltage at all, dead to the world!!! i checked this with my multimeter..... checked the fuse - its fine! all i did was take out the standard deck about a week ago - now when i plug the standard one back in, it doesnt work either....??? any ideas??

nah i didnt get one of those that flip up.... i got a double din one... but yeah i'll pop up some pics once its done

ok, cheers for eveything so far...... back seat it out, center console is out.... what was it you said about taking the AC vents out?? are there screws behind there?? and how do you take out the vents... is there a special trick??? im scared if i break em.......

tanks for that chris rogers, n15m0 - yes i do have speaker holes in the parcel shelf, and there are the mesh speaker covers too - but no speakers.....??? i'll have a good look for the wiring too, for the rear speakers - im gona try to attempt it all tomorrow... Also, whats the best way to to run the power for the amp and the remote cable to the boot...?? cheers

hi all, over the next few days im gona be installing my DVD/TV player, sub, amp and rear speakers im sweet with all the electronics part of it, iv just never pulled apart the console on an R34 just hoping to get some tips/tricks of the trade on the R34 on pulling apart the center console, where to run the cables to the back, etc. i was suprised that i dont have rear speakers and it doesnt look like theres any speaker cables running back there... is this normal from factory for a GT-T Sedan?? any help will be very appreciated cheers!!

Hi all, Iv just bought myself an r34 GT-T 4Door, and i have a few concerns which i hope someone may help and shed some lite on as i dont know much about these cars yet. Splattering problem usually starts after 3500rpm, and its so bad that I just back off sometimes, other times it comes good again after about 5000rpm and fine through to 7000rpm. I have tried BP ultimate, Synergy98, and Optimax fuel so far - and it always does it (splatters). And another problem which might be related, I only get a max of 320k's out of a FULL tank and thats driving like a Granny!!!! If i drive it normaly (punch it here and there) theres not much difference, i'll get about 290-300k's to a tank. - So my question is, will a Dyno help because all I hear is that you cant really touch these computers? - What is likely to be causing this: coilpacks, spark plugs not gapped correctly, running too rich (maybe oxy sensor is borked??)??? The car only has a 3" exhaust cat back, and a pod filter - everything else is stock (including boost ) Thanks.
