  1. Mark I'm glad your happy with the GT-RS's over the 2530's you use to have. The figures for a fresh engine on inital tune are impressive! Your Dyno run was in 5th gear, with the R34's lower ratio final drive or was it with the taller 4.111 final drive of the R33 GTR? A 30km/hr section along the graphical ramp on your power curve, indicates a 250% increase in power.....the other two R33 graphs in the thread, do not achieve this result for any 30km/hr section. Emre...what gear was each R33 in, when the graphs were plotted from the Dyno? *The linear power for the first R33 starts to fall away after 150km/hr? *The linear power for the second R33 starts to fall away before 150km/hr and almost flattens after 150km/hr? APPLES FOR APPLES. Power figures are not comparible...unless the cars are tested one after the other, are of the same model, have the same final drive and are in the same gear when the power run is made. The improvements in Drivability, response and track times is where the real answer lies. Improvement to the RB26's fuel delivery and breathibility systems, will see the 2530's becoming the limiting facter to producing ulimate/usable street power....the GT-RS's simply are the lastest design and have more headroom.
  2. knore read my thread without missing or adding words.....read the shit leading to my replies. LOOK at the 4th then 5th thread. LOOK at where I joined in to provide reality in conversation and knowledge........ Yes....I compared the GTR to the STI!!!! and I have my second GTR. REALITY to all, a stock GTR is not quick and will not beat a MY 2000 STI. now you will really hear a lot of shit spoken, but only by thoses wearing blinkers, the immature, the inexperienced or the disapointed ones who don't have the money to modify. SORRY...standard is very near unexciting. Won't post in this thread again or come back to to read the garbage from the immature.
  3. krawler the only battle I've had on the street is with my partner. She hates cars and the fact that I do. Love scaring her, when shes in the passenger seat....just makes me laugh....through the curves, S's and at empty rounder-bouts, I'm sure, after taking her claws out of the dash etc, she says she will never hop in my car again. Since being up here in Weipa, I've told her to drive it every now and again. (rego TOYS) If you see it on the street, edge her and it on....it's good for a laugh...she thinks car lovers are all hones. Live on the North side of Brisbane in the Castle Hill estate at Murrumba Downs...will have to meet you all at Aspley Mac or somewhere else sometime. Any FUN is good fun. BAX what can I say....I was being mean....but not to your Mum....I though you were 12 or 13 and needed your mum to come home...not that I wanted to be with your mum. Age....what's wrong with old ladies!!!!! Don't they make you laugh and smile.....GO ON SMILE have a Good day. It's hard to be serious all the time..........I can be a jerk or a clown at times too...ask my missus....she'd kill me if I refered to her as my MISSUS, I'm her slave.
  4. Dave...I will sent a pic. of the Border one's to you. They are left and right hand.
  5. Have you seen the BORDER RACING ones to suit std. front bar with the carbon fibre intake surround??? [email protected]
  6. knorn krawler Reality please. So most of you think, guess, umm de dar, that a rex beats you off the line....but low and behold you think you've got the top end to catch and pass...would this be within the first 200m, 300m, at the end of the 400m, the first k. or at the next TOWN??????? knorn...so after the mod's are you thinking you've got the quarter done in low to mid 13's? (Terminal speed my guess 100 to 110mph.....160 to 175kph.) Fact clutch/flywheel first and with minor mod's to a rex...I'd be disappointed if it wasn't into the 12's. Sum it up and look at it again.....a rex beats you off the line...beats you to the end of the quarter and your terminal speed is already 160 to 175kph....at what speed are you going to past the REX......................my STI has the 180kph speed limiter connected.....so if I'm the REX your racing, your only going to pass me, because the race is over and I'm backing off. Again, in a race....if any driver/car has better reation time/traction and gets off the line first...it will take a car with a much better ET, as well as terminal speed to catch and pass it!!!!!!!!!!!!! REALITY....rwd cars require slicks or a much greater terminal speed to make up for the metres loss on the start........next time your at the Drags, take note of the WRX's terminal speed. If you can't beat that terminal speed by at least 15MPH, your not going to beat it to the end of the quarter. THE ADVANTAGE OF TRACTION IS ONLY UNDER-ESTIMATED BY THOSE WHO DO NOT LEARN. Regardless of the education.....the WOOP ASS, think I did stories, will always be told by the loser!!!
  7. knore Chris at Romano's....charges through the nose, but won't dick you around and knows more than most....the only place worth taking a REX. "CITY SUBURU" are the QLD. STI dealers, but the service manager knows shit and only wants the money. Bax from what you've written....my push bike is your speed. No drama's it's carbon fibre, so the power to weight should be good....but hey when does your mum come home?
  8. knore when the HSV GEN III first came out at $100000 a pop....had a nice black one come up beside me, reving his donk at the lights, he even had the smile to match. (great looking car) Race over....within the first second. Had to look in the rear vision, just to see what his problem was....driver problem, thats all it was, no traction. Next set of lights, him beside me again....but all is quite and his not looking at me this time. Not so sure, if he was going to concentrate on the clutch release or not, but anyway, I though this time, I'd give him a head start....but anyway he only idled off the start and rolled to the speed limit down the road in front of me. He won that particular one...and with no effort at all, but when the story is told by him, I bet....and this may sound familar to some of you, who are not so truefully...he WOOP ASSED another STI to-day. There a great looking car....but the technology is old... and they lack all of the Ultimate fast than you street car qualities, I listed a number of threads ago......I don't rate them in this category and when you talk to their owners...they love them for their look, size, torque and the noise. They meet all of those qualities, so great. knore and other Bris. car lovers...we will have to meet...I,m back in Bris. every third week...the STI was detuned when I got the second GTR...std. boost, no coil-overs, APS kit, UNICHIP, front mount etc.....stock, except for the rotors/pads, front pipe, exhaust back to the std. STI muff and the flywheel/clutch, which has over 100,000km's on it now (needs a new Disc) and the 180km speed limited restricter is operational......but still weapon enough on the street.
  9. Timmy G. The newer model STI is some $10,000 cheaper off the show room floor, compared to my 4 door 2000 STI....but hey, it is 200kg heavier and has less kw's at the engine. It has the performance figures only of the older std. WRX model....go figure. I'm spectculaing that the current chasis is ment to be home for the 2.5 litre, not yet seen here in Aust. It will happen one day, because most previous STI owners don't enjoy driving slugs!!! The newer model would only be better if it was stroked.....but then there is always that 200kg's or 2 front row forwards sitting there with you....more weight = more required power. Stroke the older 200kg lighter car and you'd have a 10 sec. car, but most likely a dog box too....gearbox that is. Or tune it to run 11's all day, on street tires. Weight kills performance or empties your pockets. Make the compromise, between street or strip. My opinion: Best performance street car below $10000..... RX3 Rotary..if you can handle the stick in a can noise...then the 1200 Datto ute with different power plant. Best performance steet car below $20000..... GTI-R ...then RX7. Best performance steet car below $30000..... EVO III with mod's .... then WRX Best performance steet car below $40000..... WRX STI 2000 .... then EVO IV with mod's ... then mildly modified R32 GTR. Best performance steet car below $50000..... look at cars in the below $40000 then do $10,000 worth of extra upgrades..... then EVO V with mod's...then mildly modified R33 GTR. Best performance steet car below $75000..... Modified R32 GTR...this should also be the limit on spending on 4 cyl. AWD Cars if they were to remain street able and were purchased second hand. Best performance steet car below $90000..... Modified R33 GTR or show quality R32 GTR ..... then the R34GTR and only if your willing to spend an extra 20 to 50 grand on upgrades to match performances of other older street GTR's (looks are a waste of time if you get wiped by a REX. Best performance street car below $125000.... Aust. modified R34 GTR....then show quality R33GTR....Then the Ulimate show winning R32GTR. Best performance street car below $150000.... Aust. modified show quality R34 GTR....then Ultimate show quality R33GTR.....then second hand Post 1998 Porsche 911/996 twin turbo and only if your willing to spend an extra 50 grand on upgrades, so you don't get embarrassed by a Jap car. This list can go forever....what you have is based on the bugget you are willing to spend.
  10. Maxx Like your reply. All car have their positives and all people have taste, whether it be deamed good or bad. A quick Rex has its weak points, but I will only give you the major one for street speed. The CLUTCH has to be the worst of them and has to be upgrade from new. Sorry all, a rex with the std. clutch is slow off the line. The clamping pressure is shit and although clutch slipage is a must for a REX to launch with aggression, the std. will just spin on the flywheel, if the revs are too high or the engine will bog if clutch is dumped with the revs too low. Ever raced a Rex who bogs off the line...dumping the clutch just doesn't work for them. The Engine doesn't like load early in the rev. range and lag is there till about 3800 rpm. A decent Clutch with a lighter flywheel should be first upgrade and the best value for money. STD. rex flywheel..........10.5kg STD. STI flywheel............9.5kg My STI..."DIRECT CLUTCH" upgrade with 6kg flywheel. (best performance upgrade money can buy) For the GTR there are numerous types and brands of clutches...Have had HKS twin and that was utter rubbish....looked at OS....NISMO...ATS and others...so many different types, with so many conflicting reports and information or lack of information. Chose again a twin from "DIRECT CLUTCH" local manufacturer here in Brisbane....Light, street friendly and reliablly does the job...has more friction material and its quite, unlike some of the Japanese brands....for a bonus it's cheaper as well. For a fast, fun streeter...reduce the lag and have a usable power to weight ratio...traction...handling...braking = ulimate fast than you street car. If you car fits the bill, then it's the one......leave out one of those and your second in my eyes.
  11. Rexbomb dollar for dollar...great car and money well spent.... pre-2001 models only...forget the newer REX it's under powered and a heavy weight...even RWD cars can flog it. I had my 2000 STI from new and on my second GTR....had to pour a lot of money into the GTR to exceed the standard of the STI, but the STI is driven everywhere and anywhere. Krawler it's nice to dream, but wake up! Skylinegeoff "eat it in third" sorry the race is over and the rex was backing off...look at your speedo and may be his brake lights are glowing as you pass. It's not worth the risk after 160. If you can't be in front or catch and pass within 300 metres...give it up. (the track is a different matter) Ferni 210rwkw with less traction and all that extra weight = not enough to win....but maybe in your mind, refer comment for Skylinegeoff. Serious-Seven try making yourself understandable...woop ass!!!! Now take it all with a sense of humour...as I will, when the replies and excuses/reasons for Losing/winning etc come in.
  12. If anyone missed out on the ARC intercooler of BMT's. I have a secondhand ARC one for sale, as above for $1150. If your interested in my reason for selling...I've purchased the Dual inlet ARC cooler. ARC are the best you can buy. [email protected] Thanks BMT.
  13. GTR STI

    o2 sensors

Have a spare set for an R33....they are larger than the R32's though?
  14. Hi Dave. I've already placed an order and paid the money......you provide a great service. Can you get the NISMO engine and transmission mount kit? Can you get the NISMO oil pan Baffle upgrade kit? Thanks Phillip [email protected]
  15. You sound like a nice guy over the phone, but this isn't the first time you've said that you would return them.....the last time was about 2 months ago. I'm as easy going and patient as they come......so I will wait and see if this time comes true. Best of luck with the sale....the cooler is cheap for the price.
  16. Hey Tony... Nice cooler.....but you either owe me money or return the gauges it's been 4 to 5 months now.....or should I see about haveing you listed as a bad trader. Couldn't have given you more oppurtunities to do the right thing. $250 or return the 3 gauges plus sender units and the border pod as well....you don't deserve anything for nothing!!!!!! kind regards for now Phillip
  17. The 20G....25G.....refer to the exhaust housing. But bare in mind, you can get a 20 or 25G exhaust housing in both internal and external configuration.....for efficiency and performance an external waste gate is the way to go, but the cost will be more. The TD06 pictured at the beginning of this tread have internal wastegates.
  18. Come on...this boy, uses eyesight, a passagener's reaction time with a stopwatch to achevie a 0 to 100 reading. He likes playing the benchseat racer.....without even going to the track, he will alway over-rate his car's acheivements and his ability to drive will alway be better than those before him.......did his mother make a guess at his car's rear wheel kw's? He should fork out for a dyno-tune....but then the lack of ifing and what if's, is like throwing a wet blanket on a fire, for a BENCH RACER. 155 to 165 rwkw's because there is no way it would be running sweet and I'd lay money on the clutch being on it's way out. Higher speed acheived.....in same gear....no variable diff ratio......higher boooost or whoosh for a more technical term (there's a laugh in there somewhere). REASON.......the mind has been excited by the Whoosh....eyes are wide open....vision a blurr....concentrating on the road...quick glance at the speed and RPM....shit I think the RPM was this and the speed was this......is she gonna blow or is the clutch just slipping????? Keep the thread going.....I love bench racing and laughing. Phillip
  19. I have 2 Brand new TD06 SL2-20G lastest Greddy design 8cm external wastegate housing. Not the cheap copies floating around at the moment. Open to offers as a pair or as one. [email protected]
  20. Hi again, I'm in Brisbane as you know and have what your after. In excellent condition. What offers? Phillip [email protected]
  21. MattR Who's living in the dark ages???? You should get over it and move on......don't know the full story, but you keep comming back with snide remarks.
  22. COPY ME I've e-mail and PMed you before, about more details on your Car.....yet no reply. The information required for anyone contemplating purchase is lacking. These days to buy a GTR's is cheap and they are as common as horse S##T. But to transform a GTR into a real and unique car (in my terms) can be expensive, time consuming, but above all annoying, due to the assholes you have to deal with along the way and in the industry. But consider this...on a car that is becoming COMMON the more you've spent the more you will lose....and depreciation sets in rapidly as time passes. You have to have a passion and a willingness to accept loss, when time comes to sell. My TOYS are two at the moment. A MY 2000 STI..... costs...about $80,000 to buy and modify (market value $36K to $40k) A R33 GTR v-spec..... costs...stop counting (time is pissing me off) The move to the GTR was for greater power satisfying potential (headroom). Thinking out aloud here....I should have stroked the STI, then modified the box. Have looked at an STI plus $50k changeover on a R34 vspec II in the Unique Mag, but only get secondhand information of interest from some empolyee and no definate answer. Approached another MELB. dealer who also advertised a Ti. color R34 vspec with 6000k's on the clock at $89k....they never e-mailed me anything. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS INDUSTRY No promises....but seriously more information on your Car. A mutual price is only relevant to the facts. [email protected]
  23. Tony Don't waste your breath on this guy. At one stage he was going to buy the ARC cooler for the 33 from me...but never came up with the money again. It's now for sale on e-bay along with the TD06 SL2 20G's http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=2476303999 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...MESSE%3AIT&rd=1 regards Phillip
  24. If your thinking of sending this guy (THE GTR ) anything....make it money first or nothing....he can't be trussed. I have the same opinion of his step-father now. Phillip
  25. THE GTR So you have cash now.....when are you going to pay me the money you owe me. T88 ON BOARD...this is the guy (CHAD) that has the other parts to the gauges, that you still have. Get his address and send the gauges back to him, he has basically stolen the other parts to them and as far as I'm concerned he can add the $600 you were going to pay to the other money he owes me....for the other parts he has stolen off of my GTR when it was in his shop. "The Fast and Furious" His step-father Ernie isn't any better...Chad let him know his word isn't worth SHIT..... See you in Court!!!!! Phillip Rido
