the aircon vent? Are they easy to remove/install? I could help ya out if its not gonna cause any damage to remove and put back
-
Some pics Can notice the 'gap' between the door and guard here, bigger than it use to be with a standard guard. THis photo makes the colour on the bonnet look different too, but its just the angle of the sun/shade playing tricks.

are these the ones that are on ebay? Cos they look the same, but ive been told they dont fit properly. Am interested in these, but if they the same im a little cautious..

Went to take pics today but batteries died on me! Will be putting pics up later today. Most of it was covered by insurance. My crash repairer quoted $250 for 1 second hand panel, so i spent my own $250 and bought the vented guards, so therefor the $250 that was included in the quote was used to paint the second panel. I wouldve paid bout 250 to get the second guard painted, so in essence i did pay for the 2nd guard to be painted. Insurance covered the rest, labour etc, as usual. Cos they have to blend paint into the doors, they just did that anyway, no extra charge for the 2nd side which wasnt damaged in the crash. Pretty good of them, basically blended that side for free. Where i was lucky is the side of the damage, had a key scratch on that door, as part of the quote that door had to be repainted to be blended, so therefor key scratch fixed for free! Hope that makes sense? lol My crash repairer is awesome, i would only ever go to them. Tom howards crash repairs on the corner of marion rd/sir don bradman drive - highly recommended. They went above and beyond, while it was there they fixed up a previous dent and a weakspot in my side skirt that had cracked and was only going to get worse for a very low price. They also did alot of other little jobs, just cos.. like plastic welding the brackets on my indicators cos they were being held in by cable ties. They lightly glued down my rear bar to the side skirt, where before it was coming off a bit. They even cleaned my car inside and out for me to take home! No extra charge for either of those last things. I think i saved alot of money and my car is looking better than ever! So yeah, little off topic, but an update and recommendation for both viva and for tom howards crash repairs. Pics to come later!

thought i would update this, for Adz2332 and anyone else interested. Got the car back today finally, and can now happily say that i could recommend Viva garage. That said though, you would need a very patient crash repairer to fit the kit. My guards needed a bit of trimming here and there to make them fit nicely. Im happy with the results on my guards, even if both sides are a little different, as in the gap at the top of one side is a little bigger than the other side, but you wouldnt really notice. One side fits nicely at the front, where the other side was a little bit of work.. so yeah, bit of work and patience and viva garage kits are ok

bonnet was/is the hardest bit for them. When i left they were still trying to alter it to look better. The guard sat a bit higher than bonnet so they were going to shave a bit off and try reshape it. Also the gaps along the side are a little larger. As in the gap betwen the guard and the bonnet. It is a little uneven. Thats what i was most worried about, but im sure it will look ok once its painted.

Ok may as well add the latest update.. Guards got fitted today so i went down to check em out. Both guards are a slightly different shape, bit rounded so they dont line up nicely, but my crash repairers are awesome and have been mucking around with them all day, shaving bits off and adding some etc. Doesnt look 100 perfect but is still pretty good. Bit of a gap between door and back of guard, but im ok with that.

yeah cheers for the pm Madaz. Im still a maybe at this stage tho :|
-
oh im not complaining either by the way. I love the front guards they got me, and i got them cheaper than what they originally quoted and whats listed on their website. My crash repairer reckons he can alter them with a bit of heat and cutting and they should fit nice. Just mite take longer than originally thought and a bit more labour but all good with me. The guy at viva in the city was really helpful and got them in straight away for me, no waiting etc. He said that if they didnt fit, he would gladly refund me anyway

not yet, am waiting to see what the crash repairers say when they ring me again tommorow. I know of other people that hd similar problem and took the stuff back.

*flick* replied to Matty 31's topic in South Australia
Hah scotty, i wonder Lookin good matty. So when do i get a drive? I drove it when she was auto - think it was the first skyline ive ever driven too! -
well front guards dont fit too nicely after all. Crash repairer thinks he can reshape them a bit and make them fit but said its time consuming and mite not be perfect..

Deluxe were u going along marion road this arvo bout 2pm by any chance? Saw a car that looks very similar to yours. Saw my baby at the crash repaiers today getting pulled apart so sad and so bored without it!
-
never heard today how they went with my guards, ill call em tommorow. All i know is that they said they were a little worried about the material they are made out of, the fibreglass, so they were going to bake them first to strengthen them? something like that
-
Ill find out tommorow bout this.. Bought vented front guards from viva on friday, getting them fitted tommorow. Ive heard a few stories of them not fitting and having to be altered to fit, but i guess i know tommorow.

sorry, can i have a pm about this too? or is it too late?
-
got a wave from someone in a grey 33 last night - didnt get to catch plate or much other detail but wondering if it was anyone on here? Think i was on nelson road up modbury way. Just unusual cos when i give a wave i normally get blank looks back but not this time! Snake what car were u in?
-
spotted that hot looking purple 32 again today. Definite BN kit, 2 door, while impul rims (which i want dammit!) some sorta sticker across bonnet. Im in looove with that car. Parked on jetty road at the bay Then just around the corner from there, a grey 33, plates mutza, sau stickers on it.

yeah on passengers side. And yep, certainly do start early - 5am :|
-
Lol that would be my work. See my poser parking? Take up 2 Parks so nobody can hurt her anymore! Oh and see my cool space saver? Hit something yesterday and popped the tyre
-
Umm i cant honestly remember if it was a 4 door. My friend was telling me to stop drooling and pay attention to where i was driving instead of staring at the other car. KISIN - funny that lol. cos thats probly exactly what i would have said.
-
ummm spotted so many the last few days, i cant remember. but why when i give people a wave or even a thumbs up they kinda just look at me like 'WTF'? One i DO remember is a glittery purple-ish 32 with BN/Vertex kit, looked shiny as, new paint job it seems. On Montague road yesterday bout 4ish.

Todays cruise was great, despite the hot weather. Was great to meet some more SAU people too.. well i met some, i just cant remember who lol (sorry :|) Car was playing up a bit at first, aircon died, but then came back on again so i was lucky. Didnt end up back at pub, went for a swim instead. Hope everyone had a good day and made it home safely
