give tungsten white balance a go, or if you can set the K value manually try between 2000 and 3000
took this shot using RAW + JPG and was too lazy to process the RAW versions

Had a go at the car lights thing for the 1st, didnt have the right equipment but thought id still have a crack anyway
Yeah, that's not bad at all. The beauty of taking these shots is that you don't really need any special equipment at all, beyond a camera that can take long exposures, and a tripod or something else that's steady to keep the camera from moving during the shot.
i recommend looking into white balance too, bit orange

cheers guys, i just love heading out at night but cant always afford to. the cold weather puts me off a bit too.
and awesome terry, i never got to try infra-red film back in the day, i had enough trouble affording regular film and processing and the odd roll of kodachrome every now and then. was always keen to give it a try tho.

yeah, just a bought one. i dont have enough patience to make something like this myself, lol.
it would have got used in a shoot last night if the property owner actually showed up to unlock the gates
not to worry, went in to take a photo anyway, but stupidly forgot to change the iso from 1250 back to 80 :'(

awesome portraits Sidd!
created my biggest joinup pic so far tonight. 38 pics in total. full res measures over 100,000 pixels wide and the file was around 1.2GB before cropping and stuff. after resizing to 23657x600px @ 72dpi it went down to 11MB...
click click (and wait, wait) lol.
and this is just a progress shot, haha. the fence is now finished so i'll be shooting the whole thing in the next few days. will probably be around 42 or so pics wide. its a legal fence trackside at hove train station here in adelaide.

i started out with a Pentax K1000 that my brother "borrowed" from high school, haha. it had a leaky back pane that i would have to gaffa tape to stop the light getting in, I used it for months without a light meter until I discovered that you could replace the battery and it would start working
but those shots above were taken with a Canon EOS1000. it was $350 from a pawn shop and took almost 3 months to pay off (even tho i was working at the time)
it was a great camera, but I always wanted a Nikon, lol.

er, the framing is the actual slide holders (these are real tangible images you can hold in your hand
) i couldnt be stuffed pulling them all out of the frames or cropping them down. i need to get a proper slide/neg scanner one day.
if by head gear you mean the head strap... cheers, but i have one that i dont use myself, lol.

I know this is the May 2012 thread, but these were taken back in the early 90's. I did take pics of them this month tho, so maybe that qualifies them?
Ah the memories. Good old Kodachrome. I gave up photography because it cost so much for film and processing. At least when you bought a roll of Kodachrome the processing was included in the price. Was sooooo good the day that the little box of slides arrived in the post, lol. Just like christmas.
