read on the g35 forums that a 0w-40 is too thin a viscosity for the g35. I use motul 10w-40 in mine
-
Been reading through g35driver forums and found that there's a lot of complaint about excessive oil consumption in the VQ35DE's Having read all this, I've checked my own car..and topped up about 1/3 liter ....done 4000km since last service, is this considered excessive?? do the japanese delivered V35's have the same problems with the infiniti G35's in this respect??
-
same here. when i bought it...green leaf was showing 8.4km/l i reset this and now I'm getting 7.7km/l with a lot city driving and fast acceleration off the lights. my holden captiva is a 3.2L and does less Km/s for same amount of fuel and less power...so i'm happy with the consumption of my car.

don't know about specialists...as you know there's not many of these cars in perth. I've taken mine to autoworkshop 5/77 John Street, Welshpool, WA, 6106 they seem pretty good and price was reasonable. Otherwise, best place is prolly to take it back to the dealers coz our cars arn't that different from the 350Z post pics of ur car.

Wa V Series Car Cruise Round 2
fcruz3r replied to xtc's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
keen. but will prolly be at the meet up place and possibly drive to 1st stopover (assuming there's a couple of stops ). Won't be able to make it for the full bbq n stuff coz leaving the wife at home to babysit the kids while I go on a cruise isnt going to go down well. -
I agree with Joe. With 20g, you will not find a 33gtr and not much change on a modded 32gtr + stamp duty. So if you need to do any maintenance....its extra $$ needed and you'll be digging into the house fund. Having said that....i've never walked my talk and bought cars on impulse.

Water Lock And Cold Air Intakes
fcruz3r replied to V35 Matt's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
use the bypass valve as a safety measure since you already have it. But since we're nearing summer...its not an immediate problem pics of the actual CAI will give potential buyers more confidence in the product that they will receive. Links to resellers ads arn't really that helpful....my 2 cents worth -
will keep an eye out for car parts or wheels that go on sale at boostcruise or ebay. chances are the person/people that has stolen the car will drive it till its out of gas and dump it.

Water Lock And Cold Air Intakes
fcruz3r replied to V35 Matt's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
it goes on the theory that it requires a certain amount of suction power (think it's measured in cuft/in) to draw water from the filter. If the foam or bypass valve has a lower restriction rate, then if the pod gets submerged...it will suck air from the bypass. Think of it was a straw with a small hole cut out closer to the mouth piece. If you suck hard on the straw...u will be drawing in air from the inlet. but if you submerge the inlet in a glass of water...then u find that you wont be sucking in any water as air is drawn from the hole put simply, air follows the path of least restriction -

if you have the R tune, then it should have come with a water bypass valve. if you drive through puddles that go past the bypass valve then its a clear indication that you are in a river and its time to climb out the window. otherwise, get the bypass valve and stop stressing. -
that sucks btw, what did he mean by silver rims with black wheels??? and a set of black mesh wheels?? ...did he have mismatched wheels on the car? that would be easier to spot as I bet they'd have changed the plates for sure.
-
you might need to shop around if your looking at buying just the rears. bring them to Summerfield engineering at 6/1731 Albany Highway Kenwick and ask Rob if he's able to do the repairs. ph: 9459 1078 that another of the only 2 places in perth i kno of that does wheel repairs
-
Niran, those are gmax H050 and retail for around $200-220 each, so $130 to get it repaired is a bit steep....thing is alliance has the monopoly on wheel repairs in perth...so they can charge however much they please really. the rims came anodized and I dont know a place here to electroplate them. you could probably get them powdercoated for a nice finish...or just sprayed a matt bronze. either way you'll have to do all 4 coz u arn't going to get a match to the original

No problems with the LED tails that I've heard of. There has been an odd complaint where it flickers...but that's due to a resistor pack going bad and is an easy fix (replace resistors) Some CCFL Angel eyes have had issues with the connectors melting due to inferior design. Just splice the wires and use separate connectors + heat shrink. LED Angel Eyes have no problems. You can get a bulb out warning when u swap out halogens for projector HID's. Most aftermarket BMW projector lights have HID Ballasts which draw close to 55w, so you shouldn't get a bulb out warning. If you do, then bring it to the dealers to get the LCM flashed and that resolves it. Buy from a reputable dealer and avoid Ebay to be safe.
-
The 330ci headlights only came with Angel Eyes in the facelift models, so it wouldn't fit your car. if you get the prefacelift 330ci with projectors, you will still need to buy the AE's and fit them on. Best option is to go aftermarket. Check out http://www.carwear.com.au/E46%20Head%20Lights.html Don't buy the projectors from the US as they have a different beam pattern and will be illegal here. for LED tails, email [email protected] http://www.euro-division.com/index.php/3series/e46/lighting

Whats The Best Kits For Our V?
fcruz3r replied to vcool's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
kenstyle, g-reddy, nismo are all popular bkits for the v35. i guess I must be one of the very few that arn't too keen on these kits. Imho, the V35 looks bulky, ass heavy and hunkered down in stock form. In short....they are sexy without a kit LOL. but my favourite (and a definate mod once I can recover enough cash) is the chargespeed bottomline full skirt. Nice clean skirt without adding to the mass. -
PCD 120 x 5, do not get commodore wheels coz they may have incorrect center bore size. You will need 72.6mm center bore for the BMW otherwise u might need to run hub rings which tend to break and even new ones have been know to vibrate under speed. also for safe fitment (assuming 19" wheels), then 8.5 front with +38 and 9.5 rears with +42 will fit without rubbing. The iforged are 19 x 8.5 and 19 x 10, iforged don't stamp offsets as they are all custom made in the US according to specs. They don't have rubber on them coz i reused the tyres. I'm looking at 2k for the wheels but I'm flexi on pricing, just hit me with a PM if you want to drop by my place and test fit them on the car. Wont be for another 2 weeks though coz a mate borrowed them for a photoshoot and has them locked in his garage n gone on holidays. If you like the look of the other wheels I had on my car ( the 5 spoke volk lookalike), I can send u a link to the dealer in the US. Easy ppl to deal with and good price on shipment too.
-
wonder if commodores get hassled as much as imports? ...notice this one every day on my way to work....straight pipe exhaust that roars and pops so loud it wakes the dead...and the car has been lowered by what I can only think are cut springs that even the stock 15inch wheels are tucking rubber...i say its cut springs coz u can see the car bobbing around on fairly even road.
-
nah mate. Sold those with the car. Only have the iforged equips. These will require guard rolling though coz they're 10 inch wide at the rears...in fact when I measured them....it was close to 11.5 inches lip to lip. Does make the car look tough.
-
not sure bout Kal, but a mate had a set shipped to Perth in 5 days. Paid online with a credit card and the wheels were shipped the next day.
-
never been stickered before...knock on wood but if u get a yellow for say the exhaust being too low...can they find other faults with your car while at the pits and add stuff to the list on the defect notice??
-
moar pics of legs!!! LOL nice car mate. Get clear/smoked corners and LED tails quick...they improve the look of the car 100% ...also matt black or body coloured grills this was my previous car with amber corners and this is the same car with smoked corners and matt grills
-
finding those in hubcentric pcd 120 would be difficult ...may need to search the yahoo auctions regularly. also you may want to look at 8.5 F and 9.5 rears with +38 offset max...unless u plan on cutting n flaring the guards.
-
you can get the projectors from carwear.com.au for AE's ...i'd prolly recommend umnitza Orion V2's. Here a pic of the Umnitza 84 LED's which I had on my car ..but i wouldn't recommend these as the quality is quite poor. oh...and +1 on getting deep dish wheels... I loved the look of the iforged equips that I had on my car. Please don't get suckered into getting some CSL reps as those wheels are so played out.
