Well I have to say that was the best race of 2010 so far, albiet with some very notable failings of the stewards aka Hamiltons release and scuhmi antics with Kubica, I cant help but think and agree with some of you guys here about RBR and Mark Webber, I think they could have brought Mark in for new tyres without risking 5th place when he was around 9+ seconds in front of Hamy who should have at least had a drive thru penalty as Alonso was clearly in the exit pit lane before Hamy was released. Mark could have then lapped quicker and quite possibly overtaken SV for 4th. My feeling that's the reason why RBR didn't bring Mark in for tyres.

Noisey Lifter On Rb25det.. Can I Use A Lifter Additive
skyguy61 replied to dave_rb20's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey Dave, I haven't had a problem with my RB25 but i did have with a RB30 in a R31, It used have very noise lifters after a thrash on the track, what i did was i ran diesel engine Oil for a while about 4 months because it has a high detergent content, , it'll remove the sludge build up in the engine I used BP Vanellis its a very stable oil you need to change your oil and filter often and while hot, my RB30 had a huge build up of sludge and carbon confirmed after removing the rocker cover due to not having the oil replaced often enough and obliviously the wrong type of used prior to me owning the vehicle, after using the diesel oil it cleaned up fine, i ran a semi synthetic oil and i used a Nulon friction additive and never had a problem after that even after thrashing it at the track to redline all day. I wouldn't remove the lifters unless the engine is idling rough or its so noisy that it is causing damage. The main reason hyd. lifters get noisy is that they get blocked up with gunk and either cant bleed down or pump up, There are engine flush products also that could help but i've never used them so i don't know how safe they are. good luck -

Stock R33 Turbo Vs Gcg R33 High Flow
skyguy61 replied to manuel's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm sure its a bit of both Paul lets face it the standard turbo is tiny, you can flare out the exhaust housing behind where the turbine sits as mine has been done, as long as you can take off the exhaust housing without damaging the ceramic turbine. -
Thanks Paul, I was quite pissed off considering that a Japanese mechanic did the job!! and he didn't reset the timing after reassembly. Needless to say they didn't get anymore work from Moi.
-
Hey There, I had the same thing happen to mine after having the timing belt and water pump done, turned out it was the ignition timing was out by a quite a bit. I was thinking coil packs, sparks plugs, fuel pump etc $$$$ before finding the timing was out, I'd get your timing checked before running out and spending money unnecessarily. Hope that might help. cheers

Adjustable Caster Rods R33 Gtst
skyguy61 replied to skyguy61's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks Stew,Brad and Michael What i am mainly concerned with is Liability if the rod breaks(adjustable rod) and you have an accident you are liable,I'm not concerned with being defected as i've had this car for 7yrs without once being pulled over for a random check,I've talked to a fellow member and he had his castor crush tube keyed making it adjustable easily.I'd still like the best of both worlds where you have a bush and a an adjustable rod like in the this picture...this part is for a GTR..noone seems to make them for a GTST, Whiteline do a splined crush tube and bolt for $235 a pair way overpriced IMO. -
Adjustable Caster Rods R33 Gtst
skyguy61 posted a topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey Guys, I'm about to replace my castor bushes and tie rod ends prior to fitting new tyres getting a wheel alignment not bad considering the car is 16yrs old now, there are lots of options in adjustable castor rods but i get the same story none are ADR approved. Does anyone know of a brand that is ADR approved? I'm not to keen on the so called adjustable bush as its limited to only +/- .75 degrees all it is is an offset squash tube and very fiddly to get right. Cheers -

Hey Rev, how could i not want one because of the "super power iron fist casting technique" :laughing-smiley-014: -
Hey Bobby, Mine does the exact same thing in a GTST R33, i freaked out the first time it did it!! But had heard that it does happen, but i still listen to the engine and watch the temp. gauge just to be sure thou. It must be a Skyline thing?
