  1. Most people don't realise how much is involved in doing a high power re-power properly. When you build a real good bottom end with big oil pump, big sump, good quality front damper, balancing etc, water pump, cam belt etc etc, then buy a brand new head and get world class porting and fill the head with tomei components then use good studs, good gaskets and cover the 3 or 4 days labour it takes to properly blueprint and assemble a complete long motor your up to nzd30-32k for a long motor easy as. Then you start adding ex manifold, turbo, dump pipe, oil and water lines, air intake, wastegate, screamer, gaskets etc, intake plenim, throttle body, injectors, fuel rail, fpr, rocker covers and other covers with custom paint etc and you can soon see how it all adds up. From what I have been told, its very common for a UK built 1000hp capable motor without all the extras to be 25k pounds at least and the top guys there are only running similar mph in their pro GTRs as we have run in our heavier street car with street tyres so we give very good value for money. basicly, it soon adds up to alot more than most think when they start there "1000hp" build. In R34 road car with full interior etc R.I.P.S RB30, forged internals R.I.P.S RB26 head, tomei 290 cams GT42 turbo 900kw (1200hp) at engine, best measured at 4 wheels on rolling road with wheelspin 720awkw (960awhp) First time I'd ever driven the car was its first ever pass at the drags: Should run low 9s with some practice and she weighs 1740kg.   3. I don't know where you got that info from, our forged shortblocks that hold over 1000hp arn't even that expensive. Our rebuilt stock internal bottom ends start at $4000. http://www.ripsracing.com/products.html It would be nice if you could get your facts right before you post Rob

Ran 9.06 152mph on fully treaded wet weather suitable street tyres (Not dot drag tyre) And 9.1 with a big wheelstand

Thanks for your reply, its a long story but I need input from as many people as possible who have made good power with flat tops or even dished pistons in a 26/30, PLEASE put up your dyno printout and I'll explain everything once I have a few more replies on here.   7. I'd like to hear from people with experience in using flat tops or even dished pistons in a RB30 with a 26 head. Flat tops usually give a C/R of 8.2-8.3, dished can get you down to the low 7's I want to hear from guys who have made big power (as in 600,800, 1000hp+) when using flat tops or dished pistons, only in a RB30 and only when using a 26 head. If you can answer the following: 1) what shape did you use, flat tops(8.2-8.3:1), very slight dish(high 7's to 8.2:1) or larger dish (lower than high 7's:1) 2) what fuel did you use 3) what cams (if you want to say) and head work, none, mild, extensive. 4) what turbo 5) how much power did you make, at what boost, with what torque, rpm etc 6) without NOS, hp? 6) with NOS hp? This may seem a strange request from me but I have a situation that needs independent outside input. PLEASE, only post if you can back it up with dyno printouts, video proof etc, not my mate said this and that please.
