  1. I have a r33 s2 (auto) and have just built the jaycar variable boostcontroller (kc5438) and need some help in finding the wires that i need to cut in order to put the kit in. Instructions say that i need to cut the wire from the ecu that goes to the factory boost solenoid . This wire goes into the kit and a ouput wire connects to the factory solenoid. Has anyone used this kit and is it worth it's money.

  3. Hello, I have just been told that I have to take out my Microtech ecu (cops) and was looking at the nistune option. What my question is are they a good option to go for knowing that i will be checked for to see if my ecu looks stock. Is there many of them being used. my car is a r33 s2 (auto) Mods so far are FMIC, full exhaust, splitfire coils, did have a Eboost2 boost controller but also had to be removed & a Hypergear hyflowed turbo. I am looking to get back to the power i had before when i had all my parts in. Any help with this will be very helpful
  4. he took photos of the number plate,ebc,fmiz,turbo timer and the exhaust. did the licence and reg check asked me if it was mine or stolen and then said that i will be getting a letter in the mail soon. This really seem unusual
  5. got pulled over tonightand was told to open the bonnet by the cop. He then took photo's of the engine bay and said that my zorst is to loud and to expect a letter in the mail. Has anyone else had this same experience???
  6. The Eboost2 is a good unit but it is fairly difficult to get right. i have one on my r33. The problem that you are haveing is the same one as what i used to have. I had lots of trouble setting mine up it would not go passed 9 psi. I had to take the car to a couple of tunners till i got it worked out. It could still be adjusted more but i have become used to it. what are some of the mods u have done so far ? I have 3 different settings SP1 10 psi, SP2 15 psi & SP3 19 psi. It would be easy to make your settings do these but will your car handle it. mods t mine are Hyper Gear Hyflowed Turbo FMIC 3" zorst turbo back Splitfire coils Microtech lt12 computer Eboost2

  8. I am due for 100k service this weekend and was going to do the timing belt along with all of the tensioners,seals & pulleys. The questions that I am asking here is that I have a adjustable cam gear also (brand un known), Should I put it on at the same time ? Which cam does it go on (exhaust/intake) ? Are they really worth it ? I have done some work to the car so far. Mods so far are FMIC, Eboost2 (boost controller), turbo back zorst, microtech lt12, splitfire coils,Kypergear Hyflow turbo, shift kit thru the auto. The car is a r33 s2 4 dr (auto) any help with these questions would be very helpful. (why not give it to a mechanic to do, problem of being in a small country town that if it is a import it usually means that they are all unsure of what to do......)
  9. I have been looking around the web and have not been able to find what I am looking for. I have a microtech ltx12 computer and a alpind double din head unit. what i am trying to do is link the 2 so i can see what the engine is doing rather than having gauges all around the dash. this would be to make it all look factory as possible. I know that this might be something that is not possible but any suggestions would be helpful.
  10. I am looking to answer some questions about the nismo LCD dash (epson Ej-1) Fisrt, would be can you use 1 of the and not have it hocked up to its dash and use a nother screen instead. Second, does it have to be a original ecu in the car or can it be an after market one (microtech,apexi,others) any answers will help me out with this one, thanks
  11. is there anyway that I can test to see if oil will be flowing thru the oil line before i put the new turbo on. Just have a idea that the reason that the turbo failed was due to oil shortage from the motor.
  12. i am about to fit a new turbo and just needed to know if there is anything that i need to be aware of, Do I need to run it in before I take it to the dyno or ist ok straight away. Do I need to put some oil into the turbo first to lubricate it for the first start or will it be ok, just dont want to screw it upo and have to do it all again.
  13. I had to take off the blown turbo this week and broke a stud in the manifold. I have taken off the manifold and taken it to an engine builder to get it taken out. But he tried with no luck. It is not coming out no matter what he tries. The question now is what can I do. Do I replace the manifold with either a second hand std manifold or go for a other type one using stainless. i am not trying to get a mad powered car. Just makes sense that while it is all apart just to do it all at once. mods to the car so far are a fmic,splitfire coils,full zorst (xforce),microtech lt12,eboost 2 boost controller. (auto trans). I now that the auto is good for around 220 rwkw. I was already on planning to get the auto adjusted to accomodate the extra power. Before the turbo blew the turbo blew it was making 187 rwkw on 10 psi. any help would be very helpful in this
  14. Is anyone using the turbo setup ATR28G2 from hypergear, It is pretty ell priced and seems to offer around 240rwkw, I have seen some response to these turbo's, just a need to know that these are ok or will I be wasting my time.
  15. Just blew my turbo, i need some help on what to do next. I have taken the original turbo off and found that the exhaust wheel is still attached and there is no shaft play. But it does make a grinding sound when it spins. The car is a r33 s2 auto. The mods to the car so far are a fmic,splitfire coils,eboost 2 boost controller,microtech lt2 & turbo back x force exhaust. Im not sure if i should get the stock turbo hiflowed or should go done the path of a turbo from kkr or some other type of company. I am not trying to get a madly powered car just one the has a bit of go about it and reliability. Any ideas would be very helpful.
  16. Hey welcome to the area, I am in wangaratta and sometimes head up that way. There really is not that much that happens up this way. most of it happens in the cities. Sometimes there is a bit of action at the winton raceway. There are a few skylines up there but i have not been able to find any members yet. As for crusies drop into any of the car parts dealers (autobarn,supercheap) and just ask if there are any car clubs around. If you happen to come down this way look out for a black 4dr r33 (ovabst)

  20. I have a nokia n95 which i am trying to pair with the alpine bct300 kit. It pairs up and is able to make and recieve calls but i am not able to use the full functions of the car kit (phone book,missed calls,dailled calls) these features do work i have tried them with other pnones with success. I have been reading forums sites in europe saying that i need to download a file to the n95 so it can use these features of the car kit. Has anyone else had this problem and how have you fixed it. The nokia website shows only downloads for their car kits, but after some reading of what other people have done it seems to be pick one and see if it works. I have talked to both Alpine and Nokia reps with both saying it is not a fualt with their product it must be the other company. This is a problem this is giving me a hard time any help would be greatful

Grounding is ok, I have used a gounding kit from aerpro (it has got an extra 6 points in the engine bay) Power cable from the battery (+) is running down the drivers side (2 Guage for both + - cables) and rca cables to the amps go thru the centre of the car and the video signal wire runs down the passengers side, I am using double sheilded cable for the rca's. All the grounding points have been cleaned of all contaminates (paint,dirt). The filters are a close to the screens as possible.

I am haveing trouble with extra screens in the way of interferance,(only when the car is running) The screens are ok when the motor is not running, when the motor is running the screens have a wave flicker over them. The picture is ok just the wave which is bugging me heaps. I do have a Nesa multi video amplifier which has helped with some of this problem but not all . I have the alpine 202e dvd player up front with 3 Voxson screens running off it. I have used in line noise filters on the + rail with little success. If anyone can help me with this problem it would help me out lots.
  23. Does anyone know what type of fluid I should be using in my gearbox (r33 s2 gtst auto). Valvoline, Castrol, Other types. What are the differences between the brands both good and bad. I have had the car for 2 years now and have noticed that it seems to be getting longer in the changes. I have been told that if I change the fluids it should help out. Is there additives that I should put in at the time when I change it all. (slick 50,Nulon auto treatment, others brands) Any help with this would really help me out with this.
  24. I currently have an efoce 3" dump pipe on my r33 s2 and have been told to get a split dump from all the local exhaust shops. Are they as good as they are trying to tell me or is this a big load. Is anyone using them and what type of results are you getting.
  25. on the subject of the eboost2 i have also got mixed answers when it comes to getting it tuned correctly. I have not yet found any one that seems to know how to set it up correctly. everyone who has has had a go has managed to set up only half and i am still looking for a good tuner in the Melbourne area. I have gone to Pro Maz for tuning and found to have some problems in the way they setup the overboost settings and it is not holding peak boost levels.
