Police are blaming "hoon" driving for the deaths of two young men in a crash near Melbourne's city centre. The pair, aged 19 and 21, were speeding in a yellow Holden Commodore along Lygon Street in Carlton around 2pm (AEST) Friday when the vehicle collided with a parked car near the corner of Palmerston St, police said. The Commodore rebounded into the back of two parked taxis in which there were a total of five people - three passengers plus the two cabbies. An eyewitness said the driver of the Commodore and his back seat passenger, who police said were both from north-west Melbourne, died at the scene. The passenger in the front seat, a youth in his late teens, was taken to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition. The three taxi passengers suffered minor injuries and were also taken to hospital, along with a female pedestrian who suffered shock after narrowly missing being hit in the crash. Senior Sergeant Michael Talbot from the Major Collisions Investigation Unit said the Commodore driver had been speeding. "Two young men have been killed and five others have been taken to hospital with varying degrees of injury that includes a lady who simply happened to be walking along the footpath," Snr Sgt Talbot said. "This is another example of what you could say (is) hoon behaviour, hoon driving, and young people think they can outdo themselves and the results are tragic." The female pedestrian helped paramedics treat one of the young men before he died. "She was quite distressed, she also gave some assistance to treat one of the patients," a paramedic said at the scene. Snr Sgt Talbot said the pedestrian was "severely traumatised". Lygon Street is a busy shopping and restaurant strip favoured by drivers cruising the street to show off their vehicles, but Snr Sgt Talbot said it did not necessarily attract "hoons". "Everywhere is a problem," he said. "We just can't get it through to young people's heads that they are not invincible, that they will crash and they will die." A resident in a nearby apartment tower, Jouana Assadi, said she heard a sound "like an explosion" and saw the wreckage outside her 19th floor window. "The driver, he died straight away and the other passenger in the back, he died," she said. "Just one, in the front seat, he was taken to hospital," she said. Earlier Friday afternoon, a 42-year-old woman from Culcairn in southern NSW died when her car crashed into a tree on Brimin Road, Brimin, about 18 kilometres west of Rutherglen in Victoria. A 10-year-old boy who had been travelling in the car went to a nearby house to raise the alarm, a Victoria Police spokesman said. The deaths takes Victoria's road toll to 131, compared with 113 at the same time last year.

my mates s14 used to stutter when it was coming on boost, it ended up being the turbo seals, he replaced them all and it was sweet after that,

in my opinion i wouldnt do shit to ur 33 at all id sell it and get and s15, if u want to drift do it a car that is made for drifting not the big boaty 33. i sold my gtr and im looking for an s15 atm purely for drift, way cheaper to mod, newer and better car, imo if u wanna really keep the 33 get a gt-rs turbo and some boost and that should do u some decent enough power. no point have haps of power with a to4z if it doesnt spool quickly, drift is all about response. my 2c

well he modded his wrx and i modded my gtr and he spent way more to get basically the same power at the wheels does that make sense

a mate of mine went and checked out one about 3 months ago in melbourne, it had a stagea conversion apparently, i never really asked him much about it coz the next time i saw him he had a completely different car, its a waste of time imo. waste of a good gtr.

cooler 550 exhaust 500 (second hand) pfc (1250) gtr injectors (200-300) boost (free) u dont really need cai just get a pod (second hand ones are always around in the for sale section) and like above make a cai for real cheap these days then u have enough for a good tune and some petty

y dont u just convert it to a single, get a fat dose pipe and embrace the fully sick flutters uleh seriously the noise is normal stop being a f**king pedantic flamin mongrel

it can be done no worries i have a mate with a wrx sti 2000 model 239kw at the wheels 12.3 down the quarter ill call him to get the time slip and try and find a scanner at work wrx's are so expensive to modify as well the power really has to be dragged out of them not like a gtr where u just upgrade turbos cheers julz

my history isnt good 5 years driving over 50 demerit points lossed (most of them were when my cars were in the shop and i didnt have p plates up in my parents cars) i lost like 15 in one night lol speeding 8 points dangerous driving 4points 4 people in the car only allowed 2 3 points red light (it was seriously orange) 3 points currently serving my 4th suspension (seriously depressing) my supra was $2700 age 20 my gtr was $2200 age 21 and my 200sx was $3900 age 22 (heaps of mods) im hopefully going to get an s15 soon and when i get it insurance will be about $2500 age 23 full licence insurance serioulsy is expensive but a real nessesity imo
