  1. I got my R34 from Autoterminal. I was pretty impressed with the service I got there.
  2. Did anybody hit the link on the auction to report it to Ebay? That escrow scam has been done to death on Ebay. This link shows how somebody scammed the scammer trying to do this. Quite funny. http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/
  3. If you used a Gates timing belt when you changed it this is very common. The Gates belts seems to be a bit on the noisy side. I just got used to it and now I don't even notice it's making the noise unless I'm listening for it. There's plenty of info in the forums on this topic. I think it can also be a sign that the belt may be tensioned too tight. But have bit more of a search, there's heaps.
  4. Nitro RC cars are a lot of fun. I used to have a Tamiya TG10 and for about 12 months it kept me entertained every weekend. I gave it up in the end because it was starting to cost me too much to run. It seemed every time I took it out for a run something would break on it, and it was usually something that was expensive to replace. But anyway, I've been thinking about getting another one lately, probably an off-road buggy this time though.
  5. I use Soft99 Plastic Cleaner. It works really well. I don't know where you can get it locally, it's sold in Japan. I ordered mine off ebay.
  6. Heh...I've also seen a R32 GTR with roof racks around Brisbane a few times.
  7. I saw this page back in 1998. This was the first reference to the term "Riceboy" I ever saw.
  8. Had one of the CBC kits fitted to my RB25DET NEO today. All went in fine. Only thing is that the kit has a Gates belt in it which makes a whirring sound (do a search on the forums, heaps of threads about the noise). Now that I've heard what it sounds like I would probably have gone and bought a geniune Nissan belt in addition to the other bits in the CBC kit if I knew. CBC kit plus Nissan belt would still be much cheaper than getting all Nissan gear.
  9. I got my timing belt and water pump done today. I supplied all the parts required (belt, tensioner, idler, and cam seals) apart from the water pump. So cost for labour and water pump came to $562. It certainly didn't take 13 hours. Labour was only 5 hours for me.
  10. I'm getting my timing belt done today at a workshop in Darra. I'll post back when it's done with details.
  11. I got mine because I've always been interested in owning something that differs from the everyday. That's why I have only ever owned imports. I chose a skyline because I liked the styling. My father was the same, except he never got into the Japanese import scene. He has owned a couple of English imports over the years. I'm already planning on a 2001+ Cima for my next car!
  12. Any chance of a kit being offered for the R34 tiptronic in the future?
