  1. The head Ryan is talking about (R32 RB25DE) is the EASIEST head to use if replacing an RB20 as everything plugs back in and will run on the stock ecu (which you can then have remapped). If you have any specific questions, feel free to shoot me a PM
  2. Giving us a list of what your car currently has would help

    Skimpies at Pauls' on Fridays?
  4. Wow, you got raped! As others have said, take it straight to the pits and see what an actual pit inspector has to say. If the inspector thinks that a lot of the list is bullshit, then make a formal complaint against the issuing officer.

    Am I Crazy

Keep Cherrired, sell the other two cars, get a Stag for teh Family bus
  6. Smoking 4th at 1/2 throttle could be a very enjoyable way to use the power..
  7. I've got 550cc Denso's on my 30 (RB20 ECU etc), got them from Powerflow Injection I think they're called, going to low impedence 1000cc Rochesters now though.
  8. High mount Marco, was a bit too big and my power goals a bit too high to use stock manifold. There are smaller turbos that will make the power you want, something like Pauls' turbo (3076?) with a bigger exhaust housing (for the 3L exhaust flow) might fit on stock manifold. Hiflow is another option..
  9. Ask the guys that put the box in "professionally", exactly what they did to get the 25 box in there. +1 also for the tailshaft being the culprit.
  10. We recently dropped a 25/30 into a GTS4, used the proengines sump adapter - worked mint. You can use your 4wd sump off the 25 but you still need the sump adapter to bolt the sump to the block.

    Powercruise

No idea, I'm not entering my car - am going up as passenger bitch (aka ballast and/or spanner twirler) in my mates car.
  12. Didn't Ant's 2.8 have trouble getting a clean pass down the 1/4 due to clutches?
  13. I was under the impression that the early N1 pumps were fine (I believe mine is an early one), but it was rumoured that a couple of years ago production moved somewhere else and then lots of breakages started to happen?* *may or may not be true
  14. Building an engine is the fast part, custom turbo setups aren't. We did my original 30 conversion in a weekend, drive in - drive out. That's why I have the Stag GT35R (0.82 exh) on a 6boost manifold with a 50mm Turbosmart Progate. 30 is definitely cheaper than a Tomei or HKS 2.8 kit. I would steer away from the Plazmaman plenum for a twincam 30, they are only a replacement top half of the intake manifold (retains stock runners). You're really better off with the GReddy plenum to gain back some bonnet clearance. Matey has one on his 25t/30 and it makes the numbers just fine. I'm running a custom plenum though due to non-turbo head (same stud pattern as RB20). +1 for all that except the licensing.. theoretically, with this new emissions testing, you should be able to get anything registered aslong as it passes the emissions test. Ditto!! When they get released I'm thinking of building up a 3.4L for the 32 and putting the old forged 30 bottom end into the Stagea
  15. Marco, I wrote up an epic reply the other day then teh intrawebz shit themselves and I lost it
  16. Power window issue is probably the same deal I had with mine (units may or may not be similar between 32 and 33.. I don't know). There's a little relay unit that's usually screwed to the door frame, that was dead, got a replacement from a wreck for cheap.
  17. Pretty sure the cops aren't allowed to rev your car (I've always revved it for them when asked), and they won't ask you to rev it to 6k.. if a cop got into my car and revved it to 6k I'd be pretty f**king pissed off.
  18. I love my 30 I miss it so bad.. been like 3 months since I last drove it
  19. Engine rebuilds usually stem from something in the bottom end failing.. pistons, bearings, rods (rare in lopo applications).
  20. Well considering they would have had the engine out to pull the crank out.. RB30 bottom end - $100ish New rings + rehone - $few hundred Crank grinding - $100ish Balancing - $few hundred? New bearings (mains & bigends) - $160ish Tap tensioner location Modify power steering bracket Bolt head/manifolds/ancillaries on Put back in car That's a basic 30 build and would handle 400rwhp easy with a sensible rev limit. If you had a bit of extra coin then a crank collar a better oil pump would be on the cards. Even cheaper if you find a good condition running 30 to start with. Basically, if you ever have to rebuild, then the cost of going a 30 is negligible.
  21. You want more displacement but dismiss the 30 out of hand? but would have gone for an extra 100cc's? pfft.
  22. All I'm going to say is.. why didn't you 30 it while you had the bottom end apart? Anything happens to my Neo bottom end and it's getting the 30 treatment!! P.S. 3L > 2.8L
