  1. I've gone for a GT3582R with a 0.82 exh housing, stock 25DE cams for now - will let you know how it goes in a month or two.. I'll be happy if it makes 1bar about 3000rpm and 500rwhp!
  2. Shane, are there different thickness N1 gears? I remember getting confused when I last looked at the Reimax ones
  3. Cheers dude
  4. Well, thanks to urtwhistle for his hospitality yesterday, it seems all I have to do to fit my RB20 injectors (same would go for GTR injectors I guess), is machine the bosses down a bit on the manifold where the fuel rail bolts and change the manifold side o-rings on the injectors. Actually.. just had a thought.. Chris, what length are those spacers you are using? I only checked against your seimens injectors and forgot you were spacing the rail.. if that's the case then I'll probably just need a smaller spacer (couple of washers) instead of machining the bosses on the manifold down..
  5. If you're pulling it all down then make sure the crank is straight and has no end float, I didn't do that the first time and ended up having to pull the engine out, put new bearings and oil pump in. Cost like $100 to get the crank ground for oversize bearings.
  6. lulz yeah, the series2 has a nylon compressor wheeled turbo, like the Neo (except the Neo has the bigger OP6 exhaust housing). </accepts worship with only minor modesty>
  7. I'm looking forward to these splined gears
  8. What state? We don' have RWC's over here.. Read the thread again.. the law has been in place for years, it was only recently that testing facilites became available. There is a lot of outrage but they can still make you do the test, there have been several people go through the process already. GUYS, PLEASE! ENOUGH OF THE BULLSHIT ADVICE
  9. Don't all 25DET's have that lump on the timing belt cover? that's where the VCT solenoid is and I thought series 1 & 2 and Neo all have VCT?
  10. Great thread, won't read again.
  11. Gary, are you doing anything different that others might be overlooking? Shanef, as per PM, still keen as
  12. 272's too small?? you trying to rev the thing to 10k or something??
  13. +1 for camgear/s slipping
  14. Yes you will need to tap a new location for the tensioner, should be in the build pdf I think. What are you doing with the bottom end? forging it or leaving it standard? Standard, you're better off with the 25DE head for compression reasons. If you're forging the bottom end then get some twincam 30 specific pistons and use the 25DET head.
  15. IMO the 35R is a bit big for 350-400hp.. that's more GT30 territory, I'm hoping to make a shade over 500rwhp with my GT35R and be at least as responsive as Pauls GT30'd setup. As for low-mount being out of the question, it's not so much the displacement that says that but the power goals.. physically fitting the turbo becomes an issue. Anyway, high mount looks better and it way easier to work on!
  16. If it's only going to cost you 3k for a built 2.8.. then I'd be going for that..
  17. Have you not been reading the thread about emissions testing?
  18. Hmmm.. time to check my rego papers
  19. Street driven, super responsive, 400rwhp I believe is what Marco said at the start of the thread.
  20. Dude, I gave you a link to Lewis Engines on the last page where it has their RB20 and Rb25 and Neo heads.
  21. Aftermarket low mount manifolds tend to be rather crap due to the space constraints. If you want a quality manifold then 6boost highmount is the way to go. I also think a 3037 might be a bit small for a 3L.
  22. His name is on the paperwork so he is liable.
  23. eBay isn't that bad. Got my Q45 throttlebody from the US via eBay for cheap as. Got my 1000cc Rochester injectors off eBay, no dramas.
  24. Off-the-shelf drop in replacement (except for plugs, they were supplied), high impedance, 550cc's. Same as Sards.
  25. I'm really keen on a cost effective solution to this as I'm not far off final assembly!
