  1. not sure on a 32 but on a 33 you either can solder the stock clamps that the screw usually goes through onto the fuel pump or cut it off and buy clamps that would go over the walbro fuel pumps prongs either way its abit of a hassle
  2. so has anyone else got any other ideas that could cause the afr's to vary so much? could it be the standard coil packs or the iriway7's im running?
  3. i have the same problem.. except id describe it more as a course grinding noise for the first few secs then it goes away.. and my oil always sits on 8 now n sometimes drops down to 6 whilst cruising.. when the car was healthy it always use to sit on 4... i had a leak down test n found out i have a slightly busted ring on cylinder 6.. could this be related to the problem? If yous find a solution to this problem let me know i havent had it lookd at yet as my cars been having other problems of running rich one minute then stupidly lean the next out of curiousity how long does your chh chh sound last??!
  4. okai here are my 2 maps i run not sure why the cypher one is bigger.. but its the shop one n the afrrun7 is my latest map that runs really rich in the top end n still manages to lean out sometimes mymaps.zip
  5. have had a fair bit of knockin but never heard it misfire, i had my own tune i done myself from scratch n had the varying afr issue making it hard to tune past 12psi... then i took it to a performance shop n they started from scratch and got it upto 9 psi and said it has a fuel issue.. they wouldnt change any settings n every run the afr line would be completely different.. and their map is a hell of alot richer n retarded than mine n still has the same sort of problems at the same spots.. i can upload both maps if you would like?
  6. not sure exactly how to attach this, hopefully it works its a zipped data file of the .dats and .txts files of a number of runs any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as im stumped.. Cheers Jarrod loggeddata.zip
  7. im using the wideband in the stock 02 sensor bung in the dump pipe n it also simulates the narrowband 02 for the ecu.. it pretty mcuh has to be recalibrated everytime i turn the car the car on since it loses calibration every time i turn the car off n just outputs 7.4 over n over.. which can be very frustrating when trying new things.. sydneykid: im a little unclear what you mean, pretty much i log the afr's using datalogit which is plotted N(revvs) Vs P(load) the cells that consitantly play up and differ between the max n mins are the cells that the map tracer follows when the car is coming on boost i was thinking maybe the 02 sensor is not giving the most accurate readings since its outputting data instantly rather than a avg over a 1/12 sec period... everytime i change it to avg it out it needs to be recalibrated n every time i recalibrate it, it goes back to instant response.. ill add some of the different logged runs when i get the laptop online
  8. i gave the afm a clean a while back it looked fine, yeh i have heaps of logs with the afr's on the logs aswell
  9. hey guys sorry to bring up an old thread but im still having afr troubles, i bought a new tomei fuel pump to replace the walbro, no change still playing up... bought a sard adjustable fuel pressure regulator.. same results...varies between 12 n 14.4 around the 6psi mark... and varies between 9.5 and 12.2 around the 10 psi mark... im measuring the results with a innovative motorsports lc-1 hooked upto a lap top... has anyone else got any other ideas that could cause the results to vary so much Cheers Jarrod
  10. ahh think i might just buy the new fuel pump.. standard wiring isnt the best anyway the earth wire is exposed and a little corroded so ill buy a full replacement one... so tomei or nismo?!! i know you probally can't go wrong with either but what one would allow for more hp? Cheers for all the advice aswell guys
  11. anyone know if a 180sx fuel pump will work in a r33 gts-t?!? i borrowed a girl my stock one because she thought her one was broken n claimed several ppl said it was the fuel pump so after we installed the fuel pump for her we found out she had a kink in her fuel line, when and got home, i tested her fuel pump n it still worked.. id swap them back sooner but shes in bali for a while .. so would it be fine to test a 180sx one in the skyline for a run to see if the afr's hold more steady on the wideband
  12. yeh i got a wideband with a datalogit.. i rang up the shop this morning n askd why they didnt test the fuel pressure n they claimed coz they were borrowin the dyno they didnt have their tools with them to do it ... so now i have the dilemma of sendin it to another shop with a dyno to diagnose.. why im tryin to just fix it myself coz all the shops in perth seem to be useless..
  13. okay well lets say i can borrow the fuel pressure gauge at the local car shop how do i test if its the fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator at idle ?!
  14. located in perth guilt-toy, thanks for the pointers guys ill probally replace the fpr first and over the fuel pump becuz its the cheaper one to replace... are they any fpr's that are direct replacement that dont need adjusting? is the sard one any good?
  15. yeh i would of liked them to have done this but i wasnt there as i was at work, had a mate take it up.. the ppl that dynod it turned out to be completely useless coz they could of chekd the coilpaks n pressures while it was on a dyno, n i don't want to have to send it to another place n another dyno just to get the problem resolved, just would like to know some of the most likely causes.. the earth wire on the in tank fuel pump is exposed n a little corroded.. that couldnt be causing the issue could it?!!
  16. Hey guys i recently stuck my car in to get tuned, they reached about 9 psi and started to have issues with knockin.. etc scratched their heads for a while and worked out that the air fuel ratio was changing dramatically between runs without them changing any settings.. between high 10:1's to low 12:1's on boost my mods are intank walbro fuel pump, power fc, fmic, full exhaust n a blitz ebc.. ive tried earthing the fuel pumps earth to the battery and the results remained much the same any ideas would be greatly appreciated Cheers Jarrod
  17. sorry to hear about the news ricca, only bad thing about driving a skyline is all the unwanted attention, prolly a pissed off holden driver, with all the idiots in freo ive came across its definately worth payin for parking there, they have alot of cameras to, goodluck with the repairs
  18. oeer a hoist thats gotta come in handy.. what sort of business do you run.. can yous do mechanical engeering certs?
  19. thanks heaps syslink67 ill give u a email, and yeh my sister has a lap top i should be able to borrow she has serial and usb yeh the tuners i went to in perth was terrible, i was getting sick of the run around aswell, i bookd into x speed with a 5-6 week bookin got there they recon the wrong fuel was in the car n it was knockin to badly to tune and i would have to drive it around n drive out all the fuel, honestly it took me and a mate about 15 mins to get it out so they could of easily done it n charged me a lil extra just for the sake of getting it done that day, made another bookin but they rang up to move it or something so i gave up with then, booked it into cypher had my fmic n blitz i colour sbc installed, was meant to bring it bak on the weekend for the tune, got there and they claimed it was too hot, followin fortnight was meant to go in the guy they borrow the dyno from was in sharks bay still, next fortnight they were just like look take it to i think its hyperdrive or something in malaga.. in the end i pretty much just boxed my power fc after months of runnin around.. they seem to want to work on the big paying customers more.. sorry if we cant all bomb our cars over night :S and jason as to the differences i couldnt really tell you that, i know most of the tuners use datalogit from what ive heard and seen in perth, i have both tuning programs on my computer, the fc pro that apexi uses looks way to complicated and my version all the errors that come up are in japanese i think and you cant do much without the cord, the datalogit program on the other hand is pretty user friendly, been able to do heaps of things with it without the cord.. look at other skyline maps etc
  20. jason you can buy a datalogit from http://www.fc-datalogit.co.nz/ they are about 575 delivered, i seen one on ebay once stuck in a bid of 320US n it went to 325US
  21. ahh yeh ill give them a call tomorrow n see what they have to say.. thanks guys
  22. hey guys was wondering if anyone south of the river has datalogit for sale or they could borrow out.. or even lend a hand at getting to the bottom of a random knock at a few points of my power fc tuning map ... i would prefer to get to the bottom of the knock by the professionals since im not entirely sure its a tuning issue since ive had it knock a few times with the standard ecu in at around 12 psi on a hot day, but after getting messed around multiple times by x speed n cypher, kind of getting to the point where i cant be bothered with them any more and would like to give the car a run with the datalogit n possibly a wideband 02 sensor to try and get to the bottom of it, any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  23. yeh i must of seen that yellow r34 doing that burnout a 100 times... i made the mistake of buying a car from japan with stickers on it.. i got pulled up about 6 times in the first week of owning it n havent been pulled up since, over a year later except for a time i was speedin.. i think all the cops know my car now and just leave me alone, tho i just pulled over the blue stickers since im fitting a bodykit hopefully this week.. will be intersting to see if i start getting pulled up again
