  1. don't worry, I told wheels magazine that I was doing 1:04s all day, and 1:05's on Nankangs, but using my feet for extra push down the straight. At first they didn't believe me, but I just yelled "GTR!" at them until they thought I must be a professional race driver.
  2. the other way to keep the suspension geometry pretty good is not to drop the ride height too far. It works well on mine anyway!
  3. more videos! The 1:12.9 lap on Nankangs: Chasing an MR2 for a lap: Going for an off road excursion:
  4. I do my alignment by eye, and sometimes a stick Fine tuning is done by feel - ie, too much understeer? more toe out!
  5. Nankangs are the new race tyre. http://www.modulus.org/photos/trackdays/20...ub/DSC_0216.jpg
  6. Awesome! one day when I get some time I plan to do exactly that, SR20DE and all
  7. Yeah lots of push happening thanks to the tyres and not yet optimal alignment. Hopefully I'll have that sorted soon I may end up being out of the country, but if I'm here I'll be there - if that makes any sense Best cars ever!
  8. you should see it with decent tyres! It looks a lot better on the video than it felt in the car on the weekend, but it does turn in pretty nicely compared to most cars due to the lack of weight in the front
  9. Here are a couple more videos of my car from the weekend: A bit rainey: Non rainey: Both were a bit slow due to rather dead tyres, but it was fun
  10. I was really looking forward to heading home sans trailer too Here's some video from my car at the start of the day:
  11. read the fine print on most octane boosters claiming things like "10 point increase" and you'll find that 10 points = 1 RON
  12. I have an RB25DE engine for sale. I was going to use it as the basic of a DE+T setup but have decided to spend the time and money elsewhere. It is complete with loom, ECU, AFM, plumbing, airbox, and an auto transmission. The engine was removed from a damaged car (Cefiro), and was running well. I'm not sure about k's, and I assume it was fairly high, but seems to have had an easy life. $600 neg I also have a turbo manifold to suit, and a GT3076R turbo (T3 external gate housing) if anyone is interested - $1000 located in the Campbelltown area. thanks, Andrew
  13. here are a few videos of my car from Eastern Creek on the weekend: Catching a Commodore through turn 1: Passing a few cars: A full clear lap: I ended up doing 1:52.15, which was ok but I was aiming for sub 1:50s. Apparently I'll need non cooked second hand tyres for that!
  14. just cos I like to use the spin pedal! Here are some videos from my car: I wish I had new RE55S again instead of cooked A048Rs, but I went faster than last time so it wasn't too bad
  15. mine's not a skyline, but it goes ok It's a budget 100% backyard build, using mostly various types of leftover factory Nissan parts from different models. SR20DE Did 1:09 flat at Wakefield, (which I am hoping to beat on Saturday) and should be well under my previous 1:54.8 at Eastern Creek in a couple of weeks. It's currently road registered, but won't be for a whole lot longer. I'm planning to run in Improved Production next year if all goes according to plan.
  16. any more pics of a noisy black Silvia?
  17. last time the engine was dyno'd was a few years ago, in a different car - at which time it made 122.3rwkw. It has a slightly better intake and exhaust now, so I'd expect 125-130kw The trick is to not have much weight to push along, and to come out of the last corner as fast as possible
  18. no megaphones yet, but they'll be on next time since my exhaust has to come off for repairs
  19. Wakefield Park - SAU track day 08/07/07 Silvia, SR20DE, RE55S, Hello Kitty Sticker 1:09.00 (IR lap timer)
  20. Big thanks for organising the day! I had a lot of fun, and managed to pull a 1:09.00 out of the Silvia I was very tempted to head straight back out and try to get into the 8's, but it had just started raining again... SR20DE power!
