As a couple of you may know i need a full engine rebuild for my 33 gtr. I have had a few quotes and all come in roughly at the $10,000 mark. But i have a friend and her dad owns Advanced Engine Recon and he can do it quite a bit cheaper... But ive never heard of them and i dont want to skimp out and get it done badly. And dont want to be rude and ask him if hes any good lol... So has anyone used them before? Or even heard of them etc? Any advice would be good cheers

Na no real track work at all... MAyb a 1/4 mile squirt and a bit of a thrash but thats it

Silly Questions.... -7s/-9s are 330rwkw are 7s or 9s bigger? also what do the sump/rocker baffles do exactly? Like why should i use them? etc

And will they make 350kws +?

Yer thanks guys... Decideong on a way to go at the mo... not going to rush into it. Just getting quotes back etc as we speak. As for power aim 350kws would be enough... So yer still looking at turbo ideas for that to get it easily. And as far as budget $10,000 would have to be it... wouldnt want to much more then that. But the closer to the $7000 to $10000 bracket the better! Its not a race car, drag car etc.. Its just a daily

When does the noise occur? - Even on idle now. It was a light tap when accelerating but slowly got worse. What sort of noise? - Yer light a knocking sound. when you took it there, was it because it had a noise you wanted to be identified? - Yes thats the reason i went there Cheers While were on the subject what turbos would you go with this set up as ill be changing them at the same time? Was looking at some N1s but i guess seeing as the engine will be built it could take a bit more power now?

Ok heres the parts list -New Crank -CP forged pistons -Eagle Conrods -Gates racing timing belt -Tomei sump baffle kit -Mines rocker cover baffle set -Genuine Gasket set -Tomei metal gasket set - ACL Race Bearings to mains and Rods Recondition Cylinder head Bore Hone and face block Plus Labour to remove engine, strip, reassemble, clearance for bearings, ring gaps etc, refit to vehicle

Guess just with the dollar at the mo its not a great time

ok this might be a stupid statement but is it worth me trying to get a crate motor? LIke an N1 ? etc

Oh yer tuner said bearing also got RAA to check it out (only cos im a member) and he said the same thing

Cheers Guys ill update with a full list of parts they will use etc soon, he is emailing me the quote. And yer had it around 9 months now! lol oh well hey. While im doing it i might as well put new turbos on to.. The tuner said the set up he quoted for will be good for 400 to 450kws so might get a bit bigger turbos then i was first thinking

Took The GTR to into a tuner... drove it up, he said turn it off..... Its a big end bearing... Apparently the engine needs a full rebuild... and have a quote in my hand for $10,000. Is that about right for a engine rebuild? i can put the engine componants up if you need.... :S

Well booking it into Boostworks when they can see it.... Had a reali good listern last night in the shed etc, sounds like its definatly coming from the engine now... No idea what it could be but wouldnt think it would be good

Hey mate, I just cheacked mine. The skyline panel on mine does stick out past the bumper a few mm... But it runs the same all the way along. like the indicator likes sit a few mm past the bumper etc Does that help?

Not sure if this is even the right section as i have no idea what is making the noise etc I have a 1995 GTR R33 Skyline. This is hard to explain so bare with me.... The car still makes power fine, drives fine and changes gears fine. But there is a funny noise when in any gear mainly lower down ones 2nd and 3rd inperticular. Its not when accelerating hard its when its up over say 3000 to 4000 revs and your holding it in a gear, like you should change it but your just steadly holding it not reali accelerating just yer holding it. Not accelerating hard but just steadly holding it. there is a loudish like THRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR sound. Have no idea where its coming from. But it slowly has got louder in the last few weeks. But again doesnt seem to be getting any worse latley Its hard to reali explain
