  3. It is normal, altho mine is dropping from 14psi to about 11psi get a free flowing full exhaust system as suggested before to help it breathe better i would of thought that standard turbs would be able to hold 11psi but i guess not
  4. well it got dynoes at 193rwkw (not where i got it done last time so the 10kw variation is acceptable because of weather/dyno variables etc) boost tapers off but was assured thats normal for the stock turbo as it wont hold 14psi (not big enough housing) a couple minor tweaks but yeh basically everything checks out, afr's were a tad lean so they increased to 11.5 or so coz of hot weather so could just be my head playing with me
  5. i will see if i have any diagrams when i get home tonight. altho i think i only have the mechanical workshop manual for the rb25 in theory there should be a wire going to your instrument cluster which would be your rpms

  7. It is the same diameter as my exhaust system, however u may be right if its talkin about inside diameter either way i dont think this is my problem as it was fine before with this cat
  8. Well drove to work this morning, looks like it wasnt the problem DAMN IT! any more suggestions??? i think im just ganna have to take it to the mechanics
  9. dont know if that is possible, it would be something to do with your alarm more than your turbo timer at a guess

Hey all was doing some work under the car and had a play around with the tailshaft and this mount im getting say 1-2cm movement in whatever direction is this acceptable ? it doesnt look to be worn out Also is that where the centre bearing is or not? 1st RWD car so im sort of noob with diffs and tailshaft lingo I get some vibrations through the floor especially in fifth say on the freeway its sort of a continuous light grinding noise thats one for 1 sec off for 1 sec hard to explain but sounds driveline related any comments appreciated
  11. OK Update: Cat seems fine as mentioned above. Its 3" in and out but dont know anything else about it. If anyone know any details let me know. Is that the ceramic mesh they talk about inside? Dont mind the WD40 Checked the Spark Plugs and coil pack (which looked like new to be honest), all seemed fine... pic is below, can anyone tell me what condition they are in like if cars too rich/lean or probs with timing etc?? and the main thing is i am 99% sure i have found the problem!!!!!! Turbotech boost controller locking nut has rattled loose! so... im guessing its letting the pressure out of there hence not controlling boost properly. Will confirm tomorrow after i drive it to work coz i cbf driving now. It should of been one of the first things i checked god damn it but oh well at least i didnt have to waste $$$

  13. to be honest i wouldnt know how to identify pinging. would prob have to get a pro to look at/listen to it no hissing to speak of apart from the vacuum sounding air filter lol why should i re-gap if it is not missing??? i would be able to feel if it is missing wouldnt it?
  14. yeh just make sure u secure the rest of the exhaust if u leave it on lol. dont know how it will drive with no exhaust tho??? ive had holes in my old car and it wouldnt bloody move turbos are some temperamental!!!!!
  15. if it is set on full atmo, than that is why your car is stalling because cars with afm's dont like atmo BOV's set it on 50/50 at least. if it still stalls raise the idle a touch to something like 800-900rpm which will give you some slack compressor surge is bad from most people say but others say no problem. so who knows alot of people with say stick with the standard bov but thats prob not what you want to hear

  17. so it looks like it could be the cat it is laggy i guess but it has always been like that, under 3.5k it is useless even tho it is standard turbo in case it is the cat, what is recommended? i hear metal cat is the go but lately a lot of people have had theirs fail
  18. EDIT: Look at post on page 2 for results. My cars giving me grief again and i dont know what the hell it is. Quick rundown r33, stock turbo at 0.9bar, walbro fuel pump, jj cooler, pod with box, fpr, turbotech bleed valve, hks FCD, kakimoto 3 or 3.5" full exhaust with unkown cat dynoed at 204rwkw last time. 13.5 qtr drove to QLD and on my drive there i felt the car lose all its balls. looked at boost gauge and it would drop from 0.9 to 0.6bar at redline so i though it was the apexi pod i put back on i done the intake pipe mod to re-enforce it and changed back to other pod, also cleaned afm and aac valve. no change changed BOV from atmo to stockie, no change sparkies are 20k.s old, platinums at 1mm gap which i havent checked yet now without going and spending cash on dyno runs etc which i may well have to do i want to know what the likely hood of a blocked cat is and if this is causing the power loss?? it does not feel like it is misfiring and i have rechecked all IC piping clamps and they seem secure. Also changed a couple vacuum hoses here and there oil pressure it a tad higher than usual (prob not related) but maybe coz i slightly overfilled. It slightly sits above the first line on the gauge on idle and just over 3/4 on full load i rekon no way its the cat and ill just waste my time pulling the exhaust off (scared of undoing those rusted nuts lol) any input??
  19. Well im 99% sure it has an aftermarket turbo as stock ones should have nissan on them (unless 34 are diff to 33) is there such thing as a S-Tune R34 GTT? hard to find info
  20. i replaced my air filter, done the mod where you put a pipe in the air filter pipe checked I/C hose clamps and vacuum hose with no evident leaks i have to check the cat how would i notice if its dodgy or failed? would it like be broken inside or not so evident???

EDIT: On it is has stamped Garrett a/r 0.60 M24 N (some stamp with numbers) 1 does this mean it is a N1 Turbo similar to the GTR's???? if so i beleive they are rated at 350-400hp each? what would a stock 34gtt turbo be rated at?? Hey all my mates got an r34 gtt that is an s-tune edition. so far what we can tell is that it has nismo shocks and a few other goodies like a pillar garnish, full nismo kit etc but what else do they come with if anyone knows? tried looking for a s-tune on google but could only find gtr's not gtts It looks stock mechanically with no boost controller etc but its supposedly running 13.5psi so dont know whats going on there
  22. just wondering what that white round thing (like a 20c peice with nipple on each side) is that is mid-way on the vacuum line to the BOV? some form of restrictor? can it be removed and replaced with a new single line?? also a totally different topic but would a dying standard rb25 turbo have symptoms of dropping off boost (0.9bar to 0.6) thanks in advance
  23. i have a stock one that i can use too but problem is my atmo is fluttering no matter how much or little i adjust the spring and i think its got a prob.It used to only make the blow off noise but now it wont completely. I have used the stockie and all is good (recirc connected) but want to make sure its the atmo bov before i dump it issa pm sent
