  1. well took all pads out, roughed them up so they arent glazed put adhesive shims on the front hey guess what they still squeal going to get the rears to make sure its not just the rears squealing. too hard to bloody tell which ones it is
  2. picked up some shims today to try pity they only had 1 set so i cant do the rears but will keep you updated the shop rekons its coz i got qfm pads on... hmm i sense a trend happening every shop rekons its the brake pads... ive gone through 3 different names and still the same so i rekon they are full of shit!
  3. yeah a metre would be good How much do you want for it pm me the details thanks
  4. It is with the 500deg ones on both front and rear now they are the group buy slotted rotors so not exactly sure if rda or dba yes i must say it has gone worse now (had cheapie brake pads on before not ultimates). I must try the stick on shims im so over this squealing crap. I dont want to go to any brake place and ask them to fix coz i know they will say "machine rotors first" so theres about 100 bucks front and rear at a guess and i know this isnt the problem. Unless someone knows a place that will not dick me around
  5. good luck man these things drive u crazy still have to fix a couple more things like my f**king brakes oh how i hate them and also the grinding noise i get at about 2k on each gear (hopefully new clutch/machine flywheel will fix that)
  6. just installed the rear qfm brake pads, took them for a bed in session f**k me they squealed so hard like a blood curdling screech!!!!!! like the usual noise but amplified 1000times lol will wait til they cool down and see how they go however its not a good start
  7. as the topic says want some black silicone vacuum hose none of that bright blue or red stuff can get normal stuff at supercheap but silicon feels much better (does it last longer?) so where it at?
  8. Just an update, fixed the vibrations at 100km/h was a wheel balance/alignment issue even tho i bought the car with 4 new tyres they mustnt have been balanced even tho they had the weights on the wheels
  9. WOHOO, got 4 new tyres wheel balance and alignment and its gone thank god. even tho i bought the car with 4 new wheels they must not have balanced them (even tho there were weights on there?)
  10. can you block it up to make it full plumb back? or the knob makes it 100% plum back? so theres 100% atmo or 100% plumb back and 50/50?
  11. good idea gary, would explain everything as i have tried many combinations of pads/rotors/glues and still have the same noise still not 100% on how im going to fix it tho... so you actually welded onto the backplate of the pad thereby making it saw 1 or 2mm longer? maybe i could use some silicone or rubber there to stop it? dont have a welder to try your method
  12. so you mean the top and bottom of the pad when they are sitting in the caliper has some play and wear out the caliper?
  13. onthehunt, hows the squeal going? has it come back yet or still all good? is it completely gone or just a major improvement?
  14. Here is the picure, its pretty bad and im going off memory but is that the right placing of the shim on the corner? sits in the top corner of each pad when they are installed fasing inwards towards the rotors and the other shims or on the opposite side facing the pistons
  15. oh i only changed the fronts so far as i didnt want to buy all round pads and still not fix it as my old pads are only a few months old btw, spoke to a brake place (brakewest) and they said the stock shims are better than the stick on ones thats why i didnt install them yet rather got better quality pads. They thought after i explained the whole story that my cheapo chinese brake pads were the problem also they pointed out that the little corner shim is the most important and if u dont have it u will get squeals (i DO have it tho.. and i got a question on the positioning of it)
  16. just an update. Today i installed some new pads QFM 500deg ones on a good note, damn they stop soooooooo much better than my other pads on a bad note, squeal is still there got some questions about the shims, will draw a bodgy mspaint drawing to explain but yeah now im not sure if the squeal is coming from the front or rear but most of the time it comes from the passenger side i took out the shims, cleaned them real good, put a small dab of goo on the back of the brake pads and installed them again. bed them in but still get squeals but not as bad (altho its only been 1 day) picture coming up soon
  17. Sold thanks everyone for interest and sorry if i wasted anyones time
  18. Just letting everyone know, i have about 4 people interested through PM's but no one has agreed to pay me yet and exchange caps but i dont think we are far off
  19. 2 people interested, but i realised i NEED that back cap (the one you unscrew to access the bulb) So id want to swap with mine as stated in first post as you are just going to drill your one out anyway anyhow first in first served PS. I will install them for you if you have an r33 and come to pickup. wont take more than 45 mins thanks
  20. might be able to get a pic tonight but they are most probably sold already still taking backup offers if buyer falls through
  21. Item:H1 6000k HID kit (2 globes, wiring harness and ballasts) currently in r33 s1 Age:1 week Condition:practically new Price:70 Delivered To Fit: (What car) any car with H1 globes Location:bankstown Contact:pm or in the thread Comments: basically new, dont want them anymore even tho they look brilliant and i dont want to give up that nice white light however going back to standard halogens if you have an r33 and want to install, i can give u the back cap that has been drilled out already so it is much easier to install, however i would like a standard one back in return thanks
  22. did you use any copper grease or goo on the shims? or just cleaned everything up and put them back in?
  23. damn 2 different things lol will try get some on the weekend and see how it goes to be honest i rekon it wont do shit but i hope im wrong!
