  1. Fitting that alarm ...

  2. Thamks Chris, I there a left and right side to it? I mean should I make sure I buy the driver side mechanism? Cheers, Andrew
  3. Would it be something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-primera-P11-97-01-o-s-f-door-lock-actuator-/281028641149?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item416e9cc17d (looks huge)
  4. Thanks! Would that be just the actuator or would I need the door latch as well? Cheers
  5. It's been a while but I had I had to juggle a number of things. Finally got the siren and ultrasonic sensor mounted and the cable routed to where I installed the alarm unit. Sadly I came to the conclusion that there is no door actuator in the driver's side and the door lock just activates a switch which in turn activates the TCU which then activates the actuator in on the passenger side. What I will have to do is buy an actuator for the driver's side and use the alarm to trigger that actuator directly. Another unplanned twist ...
  6. Thanks, You confirmed what I suspected. Too good to be true and no labels Still I find it odd that people actually fake a low volume item. I ordered my last AFM directly from Japan (2nd hand), they're quite cheap and the Japanese are quite honest folks,
  7. Just came across this on EBAY: http://www.ebay.com/...992ccec&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/...fa07d9d&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/300zx-Z32-80mm-AFM-MAF-Air-Flow-Meter-22680-30P00-/110559548059?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19bddcd29b&vxp=mtr It is a new item and seller gives warranty. The plastic looks darker compared to the genuine one, also no labels... Chinese copy??
  8. That was actually a point I was going to bring up. Why would Nissan fit these when there is no added benefit?
  9. Ok, Thanks .. I will have a look once I got my car back from the workshop .. Cheers
  10. OK, thanks .. My schematics indicate that the remote entry module is on the left hand behind the glove-box though.
  11. Hi, I am not that familiar with the suspension and will have to think about what you wrote. However (and I am not imagining this) -> After In had the rear brace installed the car is now very willingly going into a controlled oversteer/drift. This was not the case before. Also the rear feels less wobbly. (I am still on the standard suspension)
  12. Alright, I think I got the point
  13. Thanks, So one degree or two is definitely not worth the effort then, especially since my engine is quite healthy. If we were talking five degrees or more it would have been a different storry, How much oil do you guys find in the catchtank anyhow? It's not vast amounts, is it?
  14. Sorry for not making this clearer, please see below/above posts.. Cheers!
  15. Yes, that was exactly my point/question. Oil vapour reduces octane rating .. so I thought the catch tank might help.
  16. Just wondering if an oil catch tank would allow me to run more timing? (Oil content / vapor supposedly increases detonation likelihood .. ?) Does this depend on the engine's blowby / wear/tear or does it help in any case? Thanks ..
  17. Hi! So you jacked the car up and did not support it evenly? Then you installed the (rear?) brace? Right?
  18. Hello there, I am currently installing an alarm system on my GTST. S2 I got it all sorted so far but I am wondering how the central locking works. There is a TCU unit which controls the interior dome light and the actuator(s) and another unit (on the passenger side) which is labelled Remote Control Entry Unit in the schematics. (I have not checked for the presence of this unit yet) The passenger side unit seems to be responsible for the driver side door. What confuses me is the fact that I don't think that my car has a remote control. The schematics further outline that if I don't have remote control entry I shouldn't have an actuator on the driver side (which I have) Does anyone know what this Remote Control Unit is? (I thought Remote Control stands for wireless entry)
  19. Does this really make a difference? And why was this 'loop' installed by Nissan anyhow? (I always wondered)
  20. I'm trying to figure out if one has to jack up the car when installing these braces. So when you jack the car up I think the chassis flexes downwards (?) unless you jack it up on both sides and support it evenly. From factory I could imagine that the geometry of the car is set with the car standing on its own feet, and that would seem like the natural position to fit the braces (?) But I am just theorizing ,,,, Any thoughts on this ..?
  21. Thanks Stu / all, I'm really torn which route to go from here. I am using the standard air-box with one of those green foam HKS panel filers. (am considering using an ApexI panel filter) Long background story -> My boost drops from 1.2BAR to .75 starting at 4500rpm. I talked to the turbo company (Turbo Technics) and they said the turbo (a hybrid) holds 1+ bar at 7000 rpm on a GTST. My intake system (after the turbo) is fine so I suspect it is the hose or the air-box setup. That's why I wanted to change the suction hose or possibly the air box. I heard that the air-box is good for 300kw, but I doubt that the intake snorkel can accommodate 80% more airflow(?) Option A is: Silicone/metal suction pipe + ApexI panel filter Option B: Apexi suction kit I like the standard air-box and am not sure about the benefits of a cone filter Here's the ApexI kit: http://www.partpal.c...n-print/view/36 My car makes 340HP at .75Bar (that's at the engine) and if I could get the boost back it would be some horses more
  22. I did this as well, but only in the upper third of the hose section. I used a 100mm aluminium pipe but I suspect that the lower part of the hose collapses.
  23. Hmmm ... looks good! Must take some time to weld these .. Does this still connect to the standard airbox?
  24. Yeah, Send one over ... what do you got?
  25. Hello there, I am looking for a replacement for the OEM rubber intake pipe since I suspect it sucks itself shut. Are these silicone replacements any good or should I rather get a metal pipe (ApexI?) Just an example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-SKYLINE-R33-RB25-TURBO-AIR-INTAKE-PIPE-SILICONE-/200454322924?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eac023aec http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SILICON-INTAKE-PIPE-4-SKYLINE-R33-GTST-R34-GTT-STAGEA-/160899111156?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25765598f4 Thanks ..
