Hello, I have a quick question: Does a R34GTT exhaust fit the R33GTSTS2. I have successfully used the R34 rear muffler on my R33 (drop in replacement) Would anybody know if everything else from the cat downwards fits as well? (I have an offer for a HKS exhaust (for the R34)) Cheers, Andrew

R33 Swaybars / Whiteline Any Good?
Torques replied to Torques's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hello there, Thanks for the explanation and pictures, much appreciated. So compared to the OEM part the holes are either more 'left' or 'right' ? Is this the same with the non adjustable bar? -
R33 Swaybars / Whiteline Any Good?
Torques replied to Torques's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yes, I did this before ... alas not on a Skyline. It's mostly the same story, you start a small thing and 'while at it' you start other sub-projects since it all is conveniently taken apart anyhow Someone told me that the adjustable bars may be problematic due to the fact that the angle to the link may become extreme. Is this an issue? Thaaanks! -
It never worked quite right for me (except before the 'upgrade', ) But at least I could convince this forum software to send me a daily notification if one of my topics was replied to. Strangely, for personal messages immediate notification did work . Now about 3 or 4 weeks it all fell apart. No daily summary, no notifications about PMs any-more. I have changed no nothing and my Email-account is the same. I find it quite frustrating that such a basic function is not working. Any recommendations? Thanks!!

Top Feed Fuel Rail To Suit Standard Plenum
Torques replied to Stevoss's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
About 540CC .. They're Bosch EV14 (and almost double the length of your injectors) http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/content/language2/html/2659.htm But the ones I bought have Ford Motorsport (USA) (Mustang GT500) part-numbers. http://www.lethalperformance.com/07-09-shelby-gt500-fuel-delivery-fuel-injectors-c-2052_2271_2274/bosch-72lb-ev14-high-impedance-fuel-injectors-set-of-8-p-17814 -

I forgot to post this picture of the supplied (with the rail) EV14 -
Injector Spray Pattern (Highflowed)
Torques replied to Torques's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
But the Bosch EV14 which came with my kit (at the time) are 6 hole (see my pictures) I also wonder how much impact the injector spray pattern has, since it is always sprayed against the back-side of the intake valve. Clearly buying side feed and 'dropping' them in produces less mounting downtime. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=376533 -
What Do You Think Of These Injectors?
Torques replied to Torques's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi, Yes .. these are high-flowed. I asked the seller, and it is the 'one hole' design. Dunno why he does not just write so .. ? I also bough a fuel rail with EV14 injectors from him, which was alright. (actually a bargain, since the injectors where Ford Motorsport item) -

Torques replied to Torques's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes, that is my understanding as well. They spray on the backside of the intake vale, just before it is about to open. -

Hmmm, So what would you say, ere these side feeds worth a shot? The seller seemed to be alright (so no mambo jumbo about 'New' High Flowed injectors. -
Top Feed Fuel Rail To Suit Standard Plenum
Torques replied to Stevoss's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nice, Thank you ... I was thinking about mounting the FPR directly to the rail as you did. Was not too sure if that solution would be mechanically sound?? Alas that would save you one additional fuel hose. (FPR to RAIL) Space is tight there, have to see if my FPR does fit. Thanks! -
Injector Spray Pattern (Highflowed)
Torques replied to Torques's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi there, Thanks for the input. Yes, the plan is to go top feed. However I wanted some side feed injectors as a 'backup' should something go wrong with the installation of the Bosch injectors. (I want to avoid a long downtime, so PLAN B is to mount the sidefeed) How's your installation going? Did you already run the car? -
Hello, I was wondering if High Flowed injectors are always the pintle type? (so just one hole?) Also my standard injectors are 4 hole design, would anybody know if they just spray straight, or is there a pattern involved? The background is: I came about this seller, and at at least he's honest with his description and offers a return. Injectors I asked him via EMail what type of design the injectors are, and he said it is a two hole. He also mentioned that other vendors have just a one hole design, and his design is superior. (V-Pattern) By looking at the spray pattern in his ad, I'm under the impression that the stream of fuel is not very much atomized/dispersed. Is this a misconception? Thanks for your input

Top Feed Fuel Rail To Suit Standard Plenum
Torques replied to Stevoss's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Good stuff, Can you post pictures of your fuel line routing and the location of the FPR? ? -
There is a thing called: Brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) It's a figure to describe how much fuel an engine needs to produce X amounts of power. http://www.land-and-sea.com/dyno-tech-talk/using_bsfc.htm There is a calculator on this page -> http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx My (standard) injectors are now at 85% duty cycle, I am making about 330HP at the crank. (running at AFR of 11.7) The mixture was starting to lean out already, so I have ordered new injectors.
-
My GTST made 310HP at the crank at around 12PSI. (Despite R&R) That with the R34SMIC, standard airbox/exhaust. When I upped the boost more, the power went down and eventually the turbo died at 14PSI and WOT. All in all (and looking back) the best setting was 11-12PSI. R&R is not such a big issue, more severe is fuel cut which will make your car act like a mad horse. Fuel cut happens from a certain engine-load upwards, the ECU goes into panic-mode and shuts the engine down. (This can be violent) Many people confuse R&R with fuel cut!

What Do You Think Of These Injectors?
Torques replied to Torques's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks, The seller claimed they're brand new but didn't elaborate whether they were high flowed. -
Is this power figure at the rear?
-
There must be an OEM-Number on these injectors, right? So wouldn't that number give some clues? I ordered EV14 injectors from the same seller, and the items seem to be OK. In fact they are Ford Motor-Sport injectors, for the GT500 Mustang (made by Bosch). The seller wouldn't say so, so I presume they fell of a lorry or something
-
Any thoughts on these injectors? Injectors The seller claims they are 'NEW', also sells these as 550cc. (same colour) I ordered EV14 injectors from him some time ago, and they were OK. Would you reckon these are High-Flowed units? Thanks ...

R33 Swaybars / Whiteline Any Good?
Torques replied to Torques's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yes, I did these things before but not on a Skyline. (on MacPherson struts) You start on one small thing, and in the end you rip the whole car apart. With the Skyline's suspension matters seem to be a bit less painful though. -

Torques replied to Torques's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi there, Hmmm .. that looks interesting, must be worlds apart from the standard linkage. Geez it looks already like one of these small jobs you do on your car and then your find yourself replacing 90% of the suspension while 'at it' -

Hi, I don't know ... And what are HD-Links anyway? I just started to look at my car's suspension, so not familiar with all aspects of it. (I did the engine, so now suspension)
