  1. Hello .. I recently installed a Tomei, and it hums along just fine. But higher load as in 'wattage' could be an issue if your overstress the pump controller. Still there are people out there who do the 'fuel-pump-mod' with the standard pump installed. I find this useless ..
  2. The fuel pump fuse in in the back of the car (where the other fuses are) It is labeled in English! (I think 15A - blue) Also, depending on how you hooked up your relay, you might have damaged your fuel pump controller. (Just a thought) Also I really don't know why people do this mod, since the fuel pump controller jumps to full voltage once the car moves There is no resistor which cripples the pump .. the FPC actually has logic and a number of components in it. Hope this helps ..
  3. I had these installed on my RB25. After picking the car up from the workshop I was slightly disappointed, since the 'improvement' was barely noticeable. Also I could not hear any difference in engine sound (contrary to what one user wrote here) I got the cams for a good price and my cambelt was due for a change. So I went for the whole package (while at it) I doubt I would do this 'mod' again, the $$$ are better invested in a stronger turbo. Still, if you can get a 'pair' on the cheap you might go for it (while doing the cambelt). The cams will definitely not hurt performance, and possibly in connection with all the STAGE II mods they make more of a pronounced difference.
  4. Thanks for the help .. I asked the FPR-Manufacturer the same question (2 days ago) and here's their answer (I will now go for their product, since it is genuine and the support is also there : Andrew, The optimum plumbing for dynamic fuel delivery to the injector will provide the line from the pump be connected to the fuel rail first, on one end, and then out the other end into the regulator. If more than one fuel rail is used, a Y-Block should be installed to split the supply from the pump into both rails, then each is connected to the regulator on the other end (two inlet ports). Hope that helps, let us know if you need further assistance and thanks for choosing Aeromotive! Brett Clow Aeromotive, Inc. 7805 Barton St. Lenexa, KS 66214 913-647-7300 Ext. 109
  5. Hello, Yes, that's the issue ... how to isolate a non fake one... Even on YAHOO! Japan plenty of fake Tomeis! Can you answer the following question. I'm unsure as to how to route the fuel lines via the FPR. Should I: 1. Coming from the pump go first into -> FPR and then into the Fuel rail (need a 2 port FPR then) or 2. Coming from the pump go first into -> Fuel Rail and then (from the other end of the rail) into the FPR? Or doesn't it matter, since the pressure should be the same (along the line) as long as the regulator is attached anywhere on the pressue side? Also: Shinuku? I lived there for a year!
  6. Yes, the bigger Sard is actually OK! (If genuine) How much did you pay for it??
  7. Hello, Just wanted to report back. After browsing the market I found that most Japanese FPR seem to be copies (unless you buy directly from manufacturer) Telling fake and real parts apart seems also to be no easy task. I also found that the standard Tomei/Sards are not good for high HP or high volume fuel pumps. All things considered I have singled out this one (from th US) http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/regulators/efi-regulators/13101-a1000-injected-bypass-regulator/ It looks well build, professional, and has proper fittings (so piece of mind) The price is about 20-30% more than a genuine Tomei .. Cheers ...
  8. Thanks ... I will check the back of the manifold ..
  9. Hello there, For my Boostcontroller (EVC) I need a source that feeds the manifold pressure (so after the throttle) into the EVC. (for meassurement of boost) Apart from the nipple at the plenum (front face of it) is there anything I could use instead? I don't want to route a hose there since it would not look nice So any ideas? Thanks ...
  10. What A/F ratio are you running at WOT?
  11. I thought the pictures might be useful. What rail do you have?

  13. Hello there, I use Nistune with the Z32 ECU and it as never failed me. The 16-Bit-Z32-ECU is not recommended by Nistune (that's why I bought the 8-Bit back then) (Though I know people using the 16-Bit-Version, and there were never any problems with data corruption) Also I change my settings (tune) quite frequently, and this has never been an issue either. The only problem I ever experienced was due to a bad Consult-To-USB-Cable which caused connection issues and rom-images not being read correctly. I then ordered a Nistune-Cable, and it works very well. Maybe your ECU is 'damaged', (lose socket, cold solder, or ...) ?
  14. Teflon tape won't help you.. The surface is damaged, but you could try sanding this down with very fine sanding paper.
  15. Absolutely ... I was just being funny ... but boost means nothing (unless you want to open an actuator)
  16. It's not about boost anyhow, it's about flow!
  17. Hi! S1 and S2 have different AFMs. But there is also a difference between late and early S2. (If your CAS has a plastic cover you have the late S2) Also the connectors do differ .. (wothin the series)
  18. Hello there, Just wanted to report that I recently changed the pump to a Tomei. It all went alright, and the hardest part was probably fitting the fuel pump back in. This was due to my big hand and the limited space in the tank. Also I should have emptied the fuel tank more; I got quite dizzy from the fumes and my skin being washed in fuel.
  19. Hi there, Did you have the same Bosch injectors as well? My rail seems to be square, but I think it's all made in China (I hope the injectors are no fake) Now I am concerned about the alloy adaptors! You did use grommets? Hmmmm ... what about boost leaks then? What fuel pressure regulator did you use? Any pictures of your installation maybe? Cheers, Andrew
  20. I wouldn't say that ... a highly priced unit could also be a fake one.
  21. So here are the pictures:
  22. I browsed EBay and it seems there is no genuine Sard or Tomei on there Also I wouldn't need a rising rate regulator, would I?
  23. I have the whole shebang here. Fuel rail, injectors (Bosch EV14), spacers ... Will upload pictures!
  24. I bought this one! Have not fitted it yet though .. Is there anybody else who did this (except me?)?
