  1. OK! I see, good hint. I am doing this for the first time, put in a Hybrid but neither the standard oil feed nor the water lines fit without modification. It's quite frustrating since I thought it would be a drop in replacement. Apparently the Hybrid is using a different centre housing, so it all looked the same but is indeed slightly different. I thought my car would be back on the road 2 weeks ago, but it's just a journey of discovery with lots of parts not fitting as I thought they would If I had known in advance I could have ordered all the parts way in advance .. SIGH!
  2. Hi there, Thanks for the help. You are right, it's a barbed connector. I was under the impression that the rear water hose to the turbo is using a banjo bolt, but that was a misconception. Now is it much trouble or impossible to remove this line?
  3. Hello, Thanks for that .. Since you write 'Plenum' I thought the water feed ends between the block and the firewall? Hmmmm ... maybe I have to double check where this water line comes from .. Cheers
  4. Hi! I might have to use braided lines on my turbo. When browsing for water feed lines I found that the lines looks somewhat strange. In the picture, what is this connector at the end of the hose? Any ideas?
  5. Hi there, I might have to remove the water line running to the turbo (the one that ends at the firewall (behind the block) Is there any chance to get there with the engine in the car? How is the line attached there, the usual banjo? Thanks ...
  6. Thank you, much appreciated - really! I noticed from your 'fit yourself guide' that the water lines do not fit straight on. Is loosening the brackets enough to make them fit, or would one need new water lines for this?
  7. Hi there, Where would I get one of these oil-lines you are using for the feed? FEED Thanks ..
  8. I was now told to drill the banjos out to 3mm!
  9. The oil feed is 5mm, the banjo bolts about 1.2mm. I have new banjo bolts (they came with the oil feed) I'm just wondering if the open feed would be too large and possibly lower oil pressure in the oil feed coming from the engine block. (I have no idea if that internal oil feed goes further 'up') or how much oil a journal bearing passes through ...
  10. Hi, I'm about the mount a hybrid turbo on my R33 GTST. The turbo has journal bearings and I was told to use an unrestricted oil line. The R33 oil-line has a ristrictor in it, so I got myself a new braided oil feed line. However I noticed that the two oil feed banjo bolts are also restricted (somewhat larger holes compared to the oil feed line itself) So do I have to replace the restricted banjos as well?
  11. Sure, but if you factor in ease of installation / price the R34 SMIC is not as bad as you say. Of course it is not a replacement for a FMIC but still an improvement to the R33 unit.

My blown turbo ... I overdid it with the boost, and on the drag-strip this happened after the 2nd run

  20. Hello, As per title I would like to find out about the type of thread on the M10 studs (3) Cheers ..
  21. Also see that the coolant you use is for engines with cast-iron-block and aluminium heads. Coolants for 100% aluminium engines are of a different consistency. In general I would say that you have to stick to green or blue/greenish colours. (Though this might not be a binding rule ...) Basically there are 2 types of coolant: Silicate based (green/blue) Non silicate based (red/purple) Here's the one I use: http://www.commaoil.com/productsguide/view/6/353
  22. A good point, I was thinking about the data myself. But since it's a Bosch injector data should be available, at least from the manufacturer. When leaving the beaten track you're on your own
