  1. Hello, FAST has only parts, and part numbers ..
  2. Hello there, Many thanks for the encouragement I had a look and it looks like a job I could do (given I have no workshop ) As for an approach, is it ok to separate the turbo from the exhaust at the connection dump-pipe to down-pipe? (That's what I would do ..) Also a friend told me that the studs at the manifold to turbo connection tend to crack, and that I should exchange them while at it? (They didn't crack for 13 years ... and removing studs from a manifold might be tricky) I got a quote for the work from a guy who usually does these things .. (on weekends and without invoice etc.) AUD 310 labour + parts! I found this a bit steep .. or am I wrong? Cheers, Andrew I will get an axle-stand !
  3. Hi there, Thanks for the input ... 5 hours with a few beers sounds alright (factoring in one hour to remove all the piping), but I'm a bit concerned about having no ramps .. I have only theoretical knowledge of the turbo mounting from the workshop manual. It seems to be straight forward though with just a few known unknowns. From the looks of it would I have to support the downpipe/exhaust once the connection to the turbo is gone? Is it difficult to lift the turbo off the manifold and out of the engine bay? Many thanks, Andrew
  4. Hello there, I need to exchange my turbo, is it doable without any specific tools or would I better be off having this done in a professional workshop? I'm meachanically inclined and have replaced cylinderheads, exhausts, clutches, and so forth. But this time the car sits in my garage, so I have no means of jacking the car up and work beneath it (if required) Thanks, Andrew
  5. From what I saw in their catalogue they have all kind of bolt on turbos for Evos and other cars. http://www.kamakdynamics.com/catalog/KAMAK_CATALOG_2011.pdf But for some reason the Skyline is missing .. Btw. I was almost buying a Soarer back in the days, but decided to go for the Skyline. (Though the Soarer's engine was smooth as silk) In addition I wanted the V8's package and the twin turbo, and that was hard to find. Cheers from London ..
  6. I would also be very much interested in a bolt on solution for the RB25. From what Kamak has in store, it should not take them too long. If they would come up with a dump-pipe or something that connects to the RB-25 downpipe the case would be closed. I found this one interesting: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Kinugawa-Turbocharger-3-Nissan-RB25DET-R33-TD06H-20G-/280666189186?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4159022d82 I sent an EMail to Kamak already, no reply yet.
  7. Hello ... quite interesting, Could you post some pictures?
  8. Nice dyno, Especially the comparison to the standard turbo ... Though one has to keep in mind that you obviously limited the boost while running the standard unit. I have attached a dyno (with the standard turbo) and this unit makes actually comparable boost till 4500 rpm. (and it does so for me for 2 years now Also I'm just using the standard R34 SMIC, and standard airbox. I am currently at 220rkw (with standard turbo and amazing response) ...
  9. Only the very late Skyline Series 2 models had the CAS (crank angle sensor) of the next to come R34. (identified by the black back plastic cover) These CAS only matched the slotted camshafts, which were different from Series 1 and early Series 2 (mid 1997 or so) So early Series 2 and Series 1 should have the same camshaft ....
  10. Hi there, Could someone shed some light on these 3 turbos? 2.4 3.0 3.0W I'm looking for a turbine for my GTST ... the turbos all have T3 flange, but the exhaust side is 5-bolt, not 6-bolt .. so it might not be a drop in replacement. Also 2 of the turbines are only oil cooled .. I have no idea of the boost response, so it's a bit of a shot in the dark
  11. A valid point, HP and 'at the clutch' makes for big figures ... On the other side, I see a lot of dyno graphs form OZ with speed in km/h on the X-Axes. I really don't understand what this is for since I'm interested in at what rpm the engine makes what power/boost. Cheers from London ...
  12. As for the Dyno .. That is 'at the clutch' not rear wheel. So maybe 260KW at the rear?
  13. Back to the original question ... That depends. If you want to run much more boost, the old mapping might run out of it's load scale. Meaning the ECU uses the last 'known' 'cell' for ignition and fuelling which might lead to knock or/and lean mixture. Sounds quite technical .. so in your case I'd say 'yes' ... remap!
  14. Hi Stao, I will PM you after I had a read .. (I already had some reads ) As for the injectors, so what you say is that these are possibly 'New' high flowed? Geez .. I think they're also just delivered in a plastic bag, so probably 'origin unknown' I really would like to save, but on the other hand having 'dodgy' injectors might be a loose end when trying to tune your car. And till today I always bought quality .. Tomei (pump, cams), Trust (downpipe) , HKS (boostcontroller) ... and Nistune
  15. Ohhh ... Hi! You aren't Stao, are you? I was meaning to talk to you (people?) anyhow regarding this: R33 Turbo As for the injectors .. I would not buy any high flowed for sure, but the seller said 'New' ... Otherwise I would not lose to much time thinking about it and just bite the bullet and buy these: Nismo
  16. Hi ... I just got feedback .. (though just one line) ---------> they are genuine JECS 550cc injectors. Part number A46-00 --------> I could not find much about these on the net ... HMMMMMMMM??!!
  17. Yeah ... I will send him a PM, he seems to have lots of experience and also documents his results well. There's an inner voice that says 'go high mount, go high mount'. But that would involve too much downtime (but would be quite sexy) Many thanks ...
  18. Hmmmm ... that gives me some hope then. Would you think these are genuine items?
  19. Hi, Yeah ... I'm really torn .. Used ones I would not like buying since you never know if they're actually working alright. (They're also hard to find) New Nismos are double the $$$ .. The seller claims his items are brand new, best would be to ask him for the model (number), so I can do some research. If it's too good to be true, it mostly isn't
  20. Hi there, I found these on EBAY .. INJECTORS The price is quite low, and I always thought 550ccm injectors are actually yellowish? Any ideas?
  21. Hi there, I still would like to know who made this high flowed unit??? Cheers from London
  22. NP .. I have the Z32 ECU, works well!
  23. NP .. I have the Z32 ECU, works well!
  24. But with Nistune you have VTC, unless you went for a non Z32 ECU....
  25. Hi there, From what you write about your high-flowed turbo I would buy immediately buy it, since it sounds like lots of low down grunt and fun Who made this unit??? I have this nice boost controller, it has 3 settings .. 'off' 'low' 'high' ... wouldn't that help to tame the unit? Anyhow, the car is used as anything from grocery getter to daily driver (though not as a commuter) From time to time for the drag strip, but not on a 'professional basis' My insurance policy states 'recreational use' and that's the truth .. I wouldn't want too much downtime with the turbo upgrade, and I have a good mechanic at hand who does very good work (but only at weekends) Here in the UK there's is quite some backfround noise with High Flowed Turbos, usually you get no 'hard data' on these. 'They' just state 'stage1' or 'stage2' and that's something I wouldn't buy especially when being quite pricy... I had a recommendation for a HKS28xx kit .. but that was very pricey ... Cheers from London, Andrew
