  1. Hello there, This might be in the wrong forum, but I thought nobody is ever looking into the 'Japan-Bulletin' I got this off a UK magazine: 'The Japanese Post Office has issued a set of stamps to commemorate the Nissan Skyline R32-R34' I find this quite nice and though I am not a stamp collector I need to have these sets Cheers from London, Andrew
  2. Hello there, I'm in the process of fitting a new Nismo speedo (300km/h) to my Skyline. I need to adjust the odometer though (shows double my actual mileage) Any hints on this? (I would try to remove one end of the 'gearing shaft' that sits above the odo drum, and then set the real mileage ...) Thanks ... Andrew (And happy Easter)
  3. Hello there, What is the best way of removing the instrument cluster? I have bought a Nismo Cluster and want to install it soon... Many thanks, happy Easter .. Andrew

  7. Hello, Does anybody know what the difference is between these 2 boost controllers? EVC III http://www.supra-garage.de/bilder/sale/hks_evc3_01.jpg EVC IV http://www.mygen.com/users/dbruce/gifs/evc-iv.jpg The IV has a dial and the solenoid looks a bit different. But I was wondering about differences in functionality.. Here is a link to HKS: http://www.hks-power.co.jp/faq/evc/rekievc.html It's a bit confusing since the EVC IV I own is labeled EVC III on the HKS page. Thanks
  8. Happy New Year and cheers for that ... I do live in London, so shipping might come expensive. However I could organize a group buy for the UK. Do you have contact details regarding a group buy? As for the manual, is the Spec II covered as well? Greetings from the chilly side of the globe (I envy you people
  9. Hi ... How many pages are there and is everything covered (Body, GearBox, Electrics?) And how much did you pay for the manual? Cheers ..
  10. Hello there .. My Skyline is made in 11/97 (according to FAST), so one of the last ones. I have never heard of a S2.5 I have a sunroof and I LOVE IT! (and wanted it) I have anti lock brakes as well (ABS) Unfortunately no remote entry system .. (I will add this myself) Your Nismo dash might be a private after market add on I guess. My headlights are very shiny:) I'm the first owner after the guy who drove it in Japan. The certified mileage is 55,000 km (judging from the interior this could actually be true)
  11. Hi! .. it's a straight plug in replacement (at least with my R33S2) ... Everything fits except that the unit is a bit thicker/deeper so you might have to adjust the plastic mud guard a bit. R34vsR33Smic
  12. Konichiwa! Thank your for the information I was always wondering how the VVT works and what the differences are to the NEO. So my the (R33) uses on/off timing changes. Is it basically induced by a signal coming from the ECU (for the R33)? And Do you know what exactly happens on the mechanical side then? Cheers from London ..
  13. Hello .. Thanks for the quick reply A bit of a shame actually ... So it seems Nissan redesigned the whole ECU then?
  14. Hello there, I was just wondering if these 2 ECUs are somewhat interchangeable or is the R34 ECU a totally different breed? Thanks ...
  15. Hi ... I got a request for payment from the translating business. It looked to me as if the manual is ready for delivery ... Has anybody ordered or received anything yet?
  16. Hello there .. I just wanted to report that after some work I got my EVC installed alright. (the hole in the firewall was for the control cable for my EVC / BoostController) I have never done this before but didn't want to mount the solenoid at the firewall. Here's what I came up with: I made an adapter from 3mm aluminum The adapter connects to the boost solenoid: The whole thing was mounted using one of the airbox bolts: And here's where I mounted the EVC-Unit inside (It's not perfect but I wanted to have easy access to the controls of the EVC) All what's left now is testing the whole thing which I couldn't due to bad weather ..
  17. Hey Terry, No ... they're all grommets (I must know since I scavenged them myself) .. They're mostly from German cars like VW and BMW. And yes ... I thought I might start collecting those HaHaHa .. No ... I thought I better get some more (just in case). You are correct It's been almost a year since I bought my Skyline. Thanks for remembering! These days the car sits mostly in it's own garage. But I'm busy installing the electronic boost controller (that's why I needed drilling this hole And yes ... Winter is looming Cheers ... Andrew
  18. Hello there ... I just wanted to report on my progress. After searching for a location with enough space to route my cable through I gave up since there was no such thing in my Skyline ... However after some searching I was quite lucky and found a spot were there was a mark for a hole but without it actually being cut out .. After some drilling and work the hole was to my satisfaction .. (here it is already coated with rust primer) In the meantime I have searched a local auto-yard and secured some grommets, one of these will be a perfect fit: Here's the location of the new hole:
  19. Thanks for pointing this out ... you have a valid point there! Cheers for that
  20. I was surprised when I heard the term PS in an English tuning video. PS has long been abolished as a power figure in Germany ... all the numbers are in KW these days. PS This unit (German: Pferdestärke = horse strength) is no longer a statutory unit, but is still commonly used in Europe, South America and Japan, especially by the automotive and motorcycle industry. It was adopted throughout continental Europe with designations equivalent to the English horsepower, but mathematically different from the British unit. It is defined by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB)[7] in Braunschweig as exactly: 1 PS = 75 kilopond-meters per second (75 kp·m/s)×(9.80665 N/kp) = 735.49875 N·m/s ≈ 735.5 N·m/s ≈ 735.5 W ≈ 0.7355 kW ≈ 0.98632 hp (SAE) The PS was adopted by the Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) and then by the automotive industry throughout most of Europe, under varying names. In 1992, the PS was rendered obsolete by EEC directives, when it was replaced by the kilowatt as the official power measuring unit. It is still in use for commercial and advertising purposes, as many customers are not familiar with the use of kilowatts for engines.
  21. Hi ... Hmmmm Between the grommet and the metal .. Doesn't that cut into the wire over time? The cable I have to run into the engine bay has a connector about the diameter of an index finger ... So I guess I need a bit of space .. But no worries, I'll figure something out I guess.
  22. Thanks ... I rather not drill and will check out the existing grommets ..
  23. Hello there, I need to run a cable from my boost controller (driver side) into the engine bay. What's the best location for routing the cable through the firewall? There must be some existing cable ducts that I could use ... right? Thanks for any hints ...
  24. Hello there ... Thanks for pointing this out ... It seems, you need a plugin for Firexfox to play this correctly. Go here: FireFoxPlugin And follow the instructions ... Basically you need to download and install the plugin. I tested it myself and the page looks 100% in FireFox now. Let me know if you have any other issues .. Cheers, Andrew
  25. Hi ..... That's strange and must be confusing They play all one by one if you click on the video's play button .. What kind of computer/browser are you using? Maybe I can investigate what's wrong....
