  1. Sound interesting ... So you need a spacer for the T3 connector and modify the turbo elbow to match the 3076 exhaust side ... Is the 3076 much wider compared to the standard turbo? Who is selling this kit? Some pictures/dyno would be nice. Cheers ..
  2. Hello, Yes ... you are correct, high boost at low RPM and 300kw at the rear is probably asking for too much and maybe not possible with a single turbo. But 200kw at 4000rpm sounds quite good to me. And 2500-4500 is the range I use the engine most of the time.. I was told a recore with the 3076 internals would be something to consider. The thing is that a high flowed turbo is not any cheaper compared to an off the shelf unit. Many thanks ...
  3. Hello to OZ, Thanks for the replies .. I would be very happy with 300RWKW, and fancy fat torque over peak power. Also I would like quick response (so 12PSI+ @3000rpm). If I could find a used R34GTT turbine, it would be a good bases to high flow it using a different turbo cartidge. Cheers ...
  4. Hi there, I have an R33GTST and apart from the high flowed units I was wondering which other 'out of the box' units would fit? I have not a lot of experience with turbo installation, but what I got so far is that there are quite a few T3-Flange Units out there. For example this one: 3076R This turbo has many options, but the 6 bolt mount for my Nissan is not listed. So in reality how are these Turbos matched to the existing piping? Would it be an option to get a used turbo elbow and then weld / machine some kind of adapter? Or are these adapters available somewhere? Many thanks ...
  5. Hi, I actually sent the wrong dyno, was meaning to send torque vs. boost. But anyhow, the graph was meant to be about boost levels of the standard turbine .. not HP. Here in the UK it's common practice to plot 'calculated HP' instead to RWKW. I guess it's because it make people happier Besides the dyno makes an educated guess about the losses from flywheel to rear-wheel in the first run on base of calculation/friction-losses. In OZ it seems to be quite common to plot speed (km/h) on the X-Axes as well, that in turn does not make sense to me either .. Cheers
  6. Hi! Yes, it is the standard turbine .. I ran this type of boost for over 14 months now ... But as said, the turbo is not overly stressed since I rarely use the full boost for long. Also I only have a SMIC from the R34 .. I heard many stories about how much this unit can take, eventually the turbo might die So I am already doing the research for a new turbo if my old unit should fail me one day .. I definitely want to keep the low lag of the standard unit, so 14.7 PSI at 3000rpm is a must. Attached is an older dyno-run. Ignore Torque figure / shape, since the operator did not tie my car down well enough
  7. I have the exact figure somewhere .. but I sure did not lose 50KW on the way to the wheels But as said, this is as good as it gets with the standard turbo, and I never stress the turbine for too long ..
  8. My R33 S2 w. standard turbo makes [email protected] at the clutch, but that is as far as it goes 16PSI at 3000 rpm .... Nistune, Cams, De-Cat, etc ...
  9. It is as close as it gets .. given that you have aligned the timing mark on the crank pully with what Nistune displays ..
  10. Hell Gents, I found this on the WWW and might be worth exploring: http://www.japancars.ru/cat/nissan/index.php?x=CA1&cat=139&pn=1&gi=A&sec=110 Yes, this time it's Russian Maybe there is more of this on the WWW, since these days you can get alot more information free. Cheers, Andrew
  11. So is anybody taking care of it? My workaround works, but I receive all notifications as PM .. (At least I do not miss any replies)
  12. Yes ... same it was for me ... PM fine, but no notification when subscribed to a topic. But when you set the (personal) notification-settings as I did, you'll receive a PM for every reply on subscribed topic. It's a bit of a workaround ...
  13. I was not receiving anything until I did this workaround, it's not perfect but does the job: And I have not tested it further, but I guess you can deselect the rightmost column (inline notification)
  14. Hello, I have recently received a Skyline R33 S2 pump (at least that's what I've been told) The pump does not have this 'valve' but there is something which looks like a pressure valve (?) at the upper halfe of the pump. Would anybody know what this is? Secondly, is there a difference between Spec1 and Sepc2 fuel pumps? Many thanks ...
  15. Just for an update: I have ordered a CamBeltKit with a genuine Nissan belt. I was also offered another kit from a company called BluePrint http://www.blueprint-adl.com/, I have never heard of them so I went for the Nissan part. In addition I also ordered camshaft seals, rocker cover seals, and halfmoon-seals
  16. Alright, Thanks for the tips ... I'll see after the gates kit then. What is the average live of a water-pump in a Skyline? I have another car with 160,000 km and the water-pump has just now begun to ask for retirement (the alternator was good for 150,000km) Cheers from London, Andrew
  17. Hello, (Un)fortunately I got me a pair of poncams for my car (56,000km) (they came at a good price, so I had to buy them) And now (of course) I have the urge to install the cams .. My Engine is in very good nick, but I guess I should change the cam-belt while at it. (It must still be the first one installed) Now some questions: 1. Should I also change the spanner? 2. Any belt manufactures not to buy? 3. Which gaskets should I renew? Cheers ...
  18. Hi there, Thanks for the reply. The check-valve sounds like a good thing to me. Can I detach the valve and fit it to my new pump, or is it non-removable from the standard pump? Tomei and Nistune replacement pumps seem to have this valve present while other universal pumps don't Thanks ...
  19. Hello .. I want to replace my fuel pump and by looking at pictures of the original one I was wondering what that 'thing' at the end of the pump is? Many thanks ..
  20. Hi! I have the same issue ... PM notification does work, subscription does not ..
  21. Hello, Thanks for the input. As said, the car is not used often on a track or something. Once or twice a month it will do a quarter mile - maybe some track .. What other clutch manufacturers are out there? This looks interesting: http://www.ogura-racing.com/light_clutch.html
  22. Hello ... You need the R33 SPEC1 AFM! The S2 AFM has 3 PINS and has also a different calibration curve. (Actually the S2 AFM is similar to the R34 AFM) I don't know if the RB20 uses the same AFM as RB25 ... I have attached a picture from my S2. Cheers, Andrew
  23. Hello there, My clutch release bearing is a bit noisy, so I want to replace it. While at it I thought it might be a good idea to replace the whole clutch anyhow. Could somebody recommend a brand/make/model? The car is not heavily tuned, making about 310HP. My secret aim is the 400HP mark, so ideally the clutch should be able to cope with that. Also, the clutch should be easy to moderate to operate, so heavy clutch operation would not be preferred. (the car is also a grocery getter ) Is Excedy any good? Thanks in advance, Andrew
  24. The battery I installed is sealed but not dry. It's a maintenance free battery .. I am unsure about the mounting positions of these sealed units but I suspect 'the only way is up' There are also 'gel' type batteries, but they are very pricey. You can search by battery dimensions on most battery manufacturer sites. Cheers, Andrew
  25. Hi! Well the clearance depends on the speakers. I have installed different speakers compared to the original ones and there is about 2cm clearance. You can get the hight of the replacement battery from the specs I posted. (22.6cm)
