its the BLACK bonnet that makes it go faster so.. black is better ~ -
turbomad, its almost pointless having spray come on at boost.. see my previous post. Your only really on boost for about 15secs.. so it would be more beneficial for the water spary to come on just before you hit boost.
-
ahha.. awesome.. I'll also gap my plugs, and a few other goodies on the same day should be fun
-
Yea it has to be a pretty fine mist.. not like a jet or a squirt.. and it has to be reasonably even.. Thats not a bad write-up I might print it out for this weekend Ive booked in my mate to give me a hand on saturday morning..
-
Yea you dont need a high pressure spray, I rekon go the 30c Garden bits.. or steal soem from your neighbours yard.. haha j/k What you have to remeber is, the only time the cooler will really get hot is on idle I beleive, as driving around will probably keep it relativley cool. What we want to do is make it cooler at its already coldest point. Maybe I might hook up a temp guage to my cooler pipe to see when its at its hottest, then after I hook up the water spray, see what works more effectively with just a manual switch. Then add all the fancy stuff you said a little later.

INASNT, Im looking into doing this very soon, maybe even this weekend if I get off my ass I thought about it, and after reading Autospeeds article on Effective Water Spray, I realised that its pointless to have the water spraying on a certain amount of boost, because by that time, your thrash/drag/race has gone and the warmer air has already passed through the engine, and you'll use all your water pointlessly. The way im going to set it up is when I press it it sprays, so basically if I know im gonna have a bit of a play, i'll give the cooler a squirt, and off I go.. using the wiper system most likely. This would be the cheapest and most effectiveeasiest way to set it up. I was going to set it up with a Temp Sensor, but again, this probably wouldnt work to well, because the cooler heats up alot more when sitting still idling, and it cant guess when youre going to want to give it some stick.. and it will drain all your water very quickly because it will squirt alot of water at certain temps.. which would usually be at idle. Just go down to your local garden shop, and get some mist sprinkler ends.. and a bit of tubing.. maybe a few other things.. I might even do a write up of how to do it when I get round to it.

The R34 GTT and GTR looks fairly similar except for some cosmetics.. such as a different kit, but you could fit a GTR Kit to a GTT if you wished. The GTR is an animal, 4WD 2.6ltr Twin Turbo, and takes VERY Kindly to modifications, its rated at 206kW(?) at the engine.. but we all know that its not hard to get LOTS more power from that. The GTT is alot more sedate, more of an everyday car, rather than a full fetched weapon, they take reasonably well to mods, and are still pretty quick. a 2.5lt Engine, RWD, and single turbo, but still manages to push out around 180kW at the engine.. which isnt to shabby for a family car Theres a few guys on here that have got that same engine to arouns 280kW at the REAR Wheels.. now thats nice As with People who can servive and supply parts.. Brisbane is pretty well in the know on imports from what I can tell, so it shouldnt be too hard to find someone there to help you out, maybe try the NSW/QLD section of the forums.

Oh.. by the way.. where abouts are you from? whats your name on the calais forums?

Scotty, The take home pay will seem marginally less than what you currently take home per week.. (around $230 less) but my car cost around 27k on the road with a 3year warranty and 24hr roadside assist, so your situation may be different. But if you do the maths (and I can imagine how many figures are running through your head at the minute.. I know mine was!) then you'll work out that if you were to do the same on a personal loan .. would cost you ALOT more. in my case I think it was over $100 per week more! As with regular servicing, in a sense.. its already paid for.. not 1c comes out of my bank account towards my car anymore, its all already paid for. So when I go to get petrol, its paid for, when I go to get new tyres.. paid.. same with servicing.. it all gets invoiced and paid for out of your budget, nothing comes out of your bank account.. thats a nice touch The only thing I'll be spending my money on is mods.

I purchased my car through prosperion, basically because of the saving on insurance. I had 5k saved to pay for my insurance on the skyline, as I wasnt going to use prosperion.. but it was stupid for me not to. I went for the 3year 25,000ks option (I live around 40ks from work, so it works out well) I have been quoted 15l per 100k's for Premium unleaded petrol, which is awesome, as my car only drinks around 11l/100ks so at the end of the three years I will hopefully get some of my fuel budget back. As with the high k's, thats not really that much of an issue because you are budgeting for regular servicing, so you can afford to service it when the time is due. I recommend it, sure, your pay packet seems alot smaller at the end of teh week, but if you add up how much you would have spent with a personal loan, you'll realise you really are saving money. A bonus is.. the 5k I had saved for insurance is still sitting in the bank, so that's going on mods soon enough, just let the insurance comany know about it.

Cleaning Stainless Steel - Muffler
ex-static replied to ex-static's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
oh.. that sucks. -
My muffler is stainless steel, and it seems to have a bit of discolouration on part of it, and I wanted to some how get it off.. Whats the best way to actually clean the exhaust.. Ive been polishing it fine, and it comes up extremely shiny, but its still got those small stains on it.. any idea? I didnt want to go at it with steel wool or anything, as it will most likely lose its sexy shine.. -ex

areed.. white sucks

Okay Ladies we need new stickers
ex-static replied to kabab's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
Depending on what you want to budget for, a mate of mine owns the vinyl cutting sticker machine, so I can most likely get things done at cost price.. which means, maybe we can have something a little fancier. -
