PM-R33 replied to PM-R33's topic in General Automotive Discussion

Fully Restored Completely Brand New 2010 Supra Build
PM-R33 replied to PM-R33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think every one just ment it has been completely built as new with all new parts (hell it probably smells like a new car) So "technically" it's a 2010 model Supra. -

Guys if you have nothing nice to say please leave it for yourself. Some of the jealous comments are a bit childish. Boz read the damn thread lol. You can quite clearly see the guy now knows a hell of a lot about cars and did all the descisions himself and researched a hell of a lot. Oh no doubt. But for an import build nothing comes close to this that I have ever come across. I have read most of the build threads on SAU and while a lot of them are very amazing with my favourite being Tangomatts, the thing is that Supra build thread is just in a whole different ballpark. For the people that are enjoying the thread, it has been updated on page 39 -
Yes of course The other guy was just asking regarding his lines that he purchased elsewhere.
-
You can run them on the stock ECU, obviously a Power FC or something would give you the better benefits though. You can pick up BB T28's fairly cheap aswell.
-
Come meet up with us tonight and im sure we could give you some info.

I think I have a stock heatshiled painted in heat proof silver. PM if your interested.

If your definetely set on a 180SX get a Type X. Will be better overall condition, much nicer looking and will have better resale value.

Hahahahaa I just noticed that in two posts you made

Fully Restored Completely Brand New 2010 Supra Build
PM-R33 replied to PM-R33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Whether it gets driven once a day or once a month doesn't change the fact of how bloody detailed and awesome that build is. At the end of the day it is his car and he can do what he wants to it. Personally I'd put it into a vacuum sealed bubble and get people to pay me to look at it I'm guessing a couple of you Supra boys are from the Supraforums, tell him to bloody update the thread! I need more! EDIT: Hahaha I see this thread has made it onto the Supraforums -
Unfortunately no ADR sleeve means they are "technically" not legal in Aus, even though the lines themselves meet all specifications required.
-
Yep it is completely free on Vipec's website. Hell just download it now (it's a tiny file) and start playing around with it (there is base maps included) on your computer to see what it is all about. Piece of piss to connect. Plug in USB cable from glovebox into laptop, start software, turn on ignition and your ready to rock and roll.

I think if you want to step into an S chassis then go for the S15. They are very cheap nowadays, still very chuckable and fun like a 180sx is but so much better in every way. Also I think going from the R34 GTT to the 180sx might feel like going back in time as the 180sx feels and looks very dated. Not saying they aren't good cars, but really if an S15 is an option, go that.

Fully Restored Completely Brand New 2010 Supra Build
PM-R33 replied to PM-R33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
To my understanding the car is in Austtralia at the moment so all up it took 2 years. I'm really glad you guys enjoyed reading the build thread as much as I did. I was hesetent posting it up because I thought a lot of people would be like "Meh, Supra" (Like one person did ). At the end of the day we all love our cars and can appreciate something of this magnitude. I really can't think of another import build thread that even comes close to that one. It really is unique in so many ways and good on the guy for doing it. If he is in a financial situation that allows him to do such things than why not. -
Yeah true lol.

Tein Super Streets For My R33?
PM-R33 replied to GorgoniteMan's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Not sure how low you want to go I have them in my car and the car is pretty low and could go lower. The Greddy Type S are good aswell though. Also for a R33 the Jap Spec and Aus Spec Superstreets have the same springs rates, 4kg. It's the valving which is slightly different. Here's a thread about them. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Te...et-t319284.html -
Wow that didn't last long? Nissan Silvia is about it man.

Yeah it's very scary the budget involved in that car. It really does take the "no expense spared" term to a whole new meaning. -

He is supposibly a personel trainer. Go figure. It is a long read but well worth it, every page gets better and better. There is a few little twists along the way that make you go "No f**king way!" It's like reading a good novel. I so can't wait for the next thread update! It really is insane. I can't imagine the cost of all the OEM parts, let alone all the work done in the US. Can you imagine walking into Nissan and ordering in every single OEM part for a Skyline, it would probably be $50,000+ just in little bits and pieces, considering i've priced up some small parts and they want $100's for the tiniest things. -
Hopefully this isn't a repost, I had a quick search and couldn't find it. My mate showed me this yesterday on his Supraforums and I spent a couple of hours reading through the entire thread. I am absolutely blown away! This has to be one of the best import builds I have ever seen. Definetely recommend every one have a read/flick through this. Whether you like Supra's is irrelevent, I'm sure you can still appreciate the amount of work that has gone into this. I keep checking the thread hoping it has been updated because I need to see more of this amazing build! http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/showth...m-the-Ground-Up. To quickly sum it up: A bloke in Aus gets Sound Performance in the US to build a brand new Supra with the best of everthing on it. - All brand new parts. And I mean every single OEM part brand new to build a 2010 Mk IV Supra - Built HKS 3.4L 2J with a custom sequential twin GT3071 setup - Metal wide body Top Secret kit - Detailed undercarriage - Every aftermarket part you can think of - No expense spared! Seriously worth a look into this, the amount of detail is absolutely amazing and is no doubt the best Supra in Australia. I can't even imagine the amount this car has cost ($150,000, $200,000, $250,000? I just don't know). I suggest watching the video after reading through the thread as not to ruin anything

Testing If Vct Is Working Properly
PM-R33 replied to Chi100188's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
First thing do this: 1. Start car 2. Remove plug from VCT solenoid 3. Set up test light onto VCT solenoid plug 4. Get some one to put car into gear (obviously holding the clutch in) and rev the car The test light should light up above the 1200ish rpm and stay lit until the 4500ish rpm. This will tell you that the ECU is actually giving power to the solenoid. The only way now is to put it onto a dyno and do two runs back to back plotted on top of one another. One with the VCT plugged in, one with it unplugged. If both runs are identical you know you have a problem with the solenoid itself. It is pretty rare to have a solenoid fail though. -
I really don't understand this. I'm trying to put myself into the position of one of these people that make these threads. This is what they must think to create such a thread: "Damn I'm on my P's and can't drive a turbo car, maybe if I just take the turbo off, I can get around this law! Hell yeah, I can't believe no one has thought of that before! Hahaha i'm so smart for thinking of this. Hmmm I don't really know what de-turboing a car means though, what do I actually have to do?? Oh!! I know, i'll quickly start a thread and some one will answer this for me. It can't be that hard. Hmmm should I search to see if a thread about this allready exists?? Nah, no way some one has thought of this idea before, other wise every one would be doing it! Righteo lets start this thread." This thought process must happen at least once a week to some one new.
