  1. you can still modify your car and keep it legal ... my plan is to take all of my newly fitted piping and stuff and paint it black to make it look stock & try to get all my stuff engineered if I can. If that dude from ignition can get his 200 engineered and registered with all the shit he has done to his car then I should be able to get my car engineered.

  3. they don't know by looking if you have a reflash but if they send you to an EPA test with the exhaust and the retune I doubt very much that it would easily pass... I don't think a reflash is technically a defect anyway, I think the law says something like 'must be unable to easily modify the state of tune' for an after market ecu to be ok, its just wether the state of tune actually will pass an emissions test is all... ohhh and an enclosed pod can be legal ... but it has to be engineered I think and generally your car won't pass EPA with a pod either

  5. R33 gts-t *agreed value of 18500 ... *rating 1 *age 23 *excess cover *no fines at all *in a good area for insurance i pay $1400 for full comp this is my fourth year with them also and I have that option where you can reduce your upfront premium and pay a higher excess.

  9. ^^^ yeah champ ... I've also got the split dump pipe and cat as well. They made quite a difference to the power my car made ... The best zorst you can get are from hi-tech mufflers in Sydney ... Their exhausts give a wicked sound, will pass DB test .. they tested one on a R34 GTT in hot 4's vs a similar style exhaust as mine, and they make as much if not more power than the equivalent loud ARSE jap or massive cannon equipped zorst systems again this has been proven also. The downsides are ... They are in Sydney and they are expensive!
  10. umm there not that quite man ... rather loud actually if you put just the dump and split pipe on it won't make it very much louder but if you put a cat back zorst on like this it will be quite loud in comparison to standard. where you located I can show what it sound like if your around Wollongong
  11. I had the exact same trouble ... got new plugs gapped them down to 0.8mm and wallah no more misfire
  12. Thats a JJR cat back exhaust ... the thing welded into the zorst is a small resonator <--- I know this cause I just had one put on plus split dump and Hi flow cat!!! This item that you are looking at is a great fit ... mine runs about 10mm off the floor pan it does have quite close clearance to the hicas though which doesn't really matter I would recommend thought if you are buying it new to get yourself the JJR split dump pipe and high flow cat ... The split dump pipe helps to rid your exhaust of turbulence around the back of the turbo which will allow the motor to flow more air and hence more power ... the split dump and cat will add more power with or without a cat back zorst. You will need to probably re-gap you spark plugs down to 0.8mm though to avoid ignition problems If this is your first round of mods I recommend: *Front mount cooler kit *Full turbo back zorst with split dump pipe and hi flow cat *Boost controller set to 10 psi The next round of mods after this start to become fairly expensive and include: *Fuel pump *ECU + tune *Suspension and brake mods to help with safety and the increase in power.
  13. Hi ALL, There must be a blitz on in Wollongong tonight. Saw probably 10 cars get pulled over in about 15kms then as I was heading home to avoid disaster it happened. I was packing it so bad ... I've just had the following done to my car: *A turbo back zorst with a split dump and a fairly big cannon muffler on it (no way it would pass any test) = defect *A pod filter which luckily I put in a fully enclosed heat shield and CAI = defect anyway *Cross over style FMIC kit ( so there is a hole in chassis now) = defect *A re-flash of the standard ecu. = defect if tested ^^ all the afore mentioned modifications didn't bother him in the slightest, the only thing that he was worried about was whether or not I had a atmospheric BOV ... which luckily I don't I've got the standard one back on there. After going over my cars engine bay for quite a few minutes and some arse kissing on my behalf the fella that pulled me over let me off and told me to take my car straight home. I really didn't like police all that much b4 but after 29t I think I might have had a change of heart. Now to the point of this thread... Anyone else get pulled over tonight for a random breath test in Wollongong???
  14. thanks bubba^^ I've heard that this mod in other cars moves the power a bit up the rev range and takes some stress off the engine at high revs. Can anyone confirm this.
  15. I'm considering including a new set of cams in my next round of mods... Just wondering if RB25DE cams will fit in a RB25DET and if there are any performance gains in doing so... I know that SR20DE cams fit DET and can give good gains... wondering if this is the same for RB's
  16. doesn't the neo have both intake and exhaust NVCS? also standard the NEO has smaller injectors than r33? and a slightly better stock turbo... both are good standard but the NEO would be the better choice because they're are generally newer.
