  1. ^^he's right but ... what is a cheap solution in the beginning may end up being a costly one. substantially lowering the height of your skyline with the standard shockers in place will bring about a quick death for the standard shocks ... then you will have to fork out money to get new shocks anyway. I suppose you could lower the car then start saving for a new set of shocks to replace you stock ones when they give out. Also you will need adjustable camber bushes minimum to correct the bad camber angles that plague lowered skylines + a good wheel alignment otherwise you will be replacing tires every 10000 k's. Get yourself a set of lowered springs and a set of adjustable rear camber bushes or adjustable upper arms ( <--- be prepared to have to regularly check for cracks etc if you get rose jointed ones and also unwanted attention from authorities) to start with; then start putting away some coin for new shocks. If your going real low you may want to have the gaurds lipped and pumped to stop scrubbing. Also talk to your mechanic and explain to him exactly what you want from lowering your car and listen to his advise ... End Rant !!!
  2. yeah I guess that would be them ...
  3. hey ... I spoke to my mate ... the name of the shop is plastiques or plastics <--- something like that ... there in Arncliffe NSW ... he reckons you can get them made up for between $100-150 each (which ain't to bad really) Apparently you either take your lenses/ lights in to them or send them in and they will have them ready in a day or so ... hope this helps you guys
  4. good work ... thats pretty coOl man ... have you ducted the air from the front with a bit of flexi pipe or something? ... if you haven't it would be a good idea to do so
  5. I think no one here really knows ... the truth seems to remain a mystery ... but they sound like good guesses tho ... the only accurate way to get an idea of the amount of energy spent moving the mass of the drive train + the other factors such as heat, friction etc (as suggested) would be to do several tests comparing the engine and engine drive train combo <--- which no one is likely to try ... and that would only be reasonable if the next car in question had the same setup as the original test car/engine & drive train combo. the hypothesis that the drive train under full load will rob a fixed amount of power + plus a proportional amount depending on load increase/ power + other factors such as fixed heat dissipation etc sounds the most accurate but it is probably much more complicated than that. anyway the thread was a good read got me thinking ...
  6. if you call or speak to the guys at just jap they'll know ... they're in the traders section and can probally hook you up with a bonnet if it suits
  7. I'm sure there is a place ... a spray painter friend of mine told me about it one night when I was winging to him about wanting new lights cause of how dodgy mine are ... i'll give him a call ... see what he says ... I don't think I'm dreaming it up but you never know
  8. I'm assuming that draws air up from under the pod?

  10. I've got big mates <---- LoL that sounds funny ... and they squeeze in fine
  11. there is a place somewhere you can get new lenses made out of perspex or lexen or something probally worth looking into
  12. I had problems with them on my 33 ... be careful if these aren't installed properly they can jam up your gauges and if they aren't good quality your gauges won't be accurate. Oh and they make a high pitched buzzing noise also rather annoying. My 2 cents get bright leds off that guy on the forums ... much nicer look ... if you want white gauges try hunt down the nismo replacement dash and put leds in it.
  13. ohhh and if you do get some water in some of the electrical stuff just blow it out with a compressor ... or spray some WD40 (Water Dispersant ) on it
  14. ^^ what he said but add a nail brush to the equation (give the stubborn stuff a bit of what for ) I'm going to do mine now ... just cause you reminded me (o_0)
  15. if you don't sell them PM me ... im like 40 mins from your place ... and i work in taren point so ... neway PM me
  16. I heard the new boost tee (not the old bleed tap style) is basically a rip off of the turbo tech ... so basically the same thing but probally better engineered. I've also heard that the turbosmart product is much easier to adjust ... a step by step locking adjustment style ... rather than a screw and a lock nut which is hard to adjust ... once adjusted though they should both work equally well. If it was me id buy the turbosmart one as you most probally are going to get better support and product
  17. i was interested ... but you can take your used pipe and jam it! have a nice day
  18. they sell these for $370 new champ in GB? you might get like $200~$250 for it
