Afr With Bigger Turbo (hx35/40)
Mr Jollwah replied to waxer52's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Have you checked the inlet pipeing from afm to turbo, may have a leak. -
Nistune Daughterboards For 33gtst Only
Mr Jollwah replied to Dorifta's topic in Forced Induction Performance
I like the changes made to the ecu itself . Very clever.. -
Huh, I thought the r33 rb25det box would fit. rb30 box is smaller than rb25det box, much the same as a rb20 box.

Nistune Daughterboards For 33gtst Only
Mr Jollwah replied to Dorifta's topic in Forced Induction Performance
People change over the knock sensors because the rear sensors are the ones that are most likely to detonate, due to air flow distribution etc. As for the power steering, IIRC the r33 ecu plug is missing the pin to go to pin 34 on the z32 ecu. I used a harness extender. -
The factory ecu has a low octane timing map, So the question is how low an octane fuel or how high a cylinder pressure are we talking about. The std ecu does have its limits, Mine used to knock like a salesman everytime I got crap fuel when the local servo ran out of premium.

Nistune Daughterboards For 33gtst Only
Mr Jollwah replied to Dorifta's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Engine temp correction is the same eg. uses the coolant temp sensor. The fuel temp sensor does bugger all and the fault code can be removed by wiring in a 330K resistor to ground from the ecu pin 36. Other than that some find that the exhaust temp light comes on when they turn on their aircon, if so cut wire at pin 33. The z32 only uses one knock sensor if you do not change the wiring at all the front sensor is used, I would use the rear sensor wich means you need to splice wire from pin 24 onto pin 23. -

18x8 +20 And 18x9 +20 Wheels On A R33 Gtst
Mr Jollwah replied to Mr Jollwah's topic in Cosmetic, Styling & Respray
That is good news, I was hoping they might fit with just rolled guards. Thanks guys. -
Finally founds some wheels that I quite like, they are however +20 offset front and back. Sounds a little low an offset, hoping that they will fit with rolled guards. Just asking to see if anyone has this offset fitted and any feedback would be fantastic. Regards

Waste Spark Vs Ignition Boost System?
Mr Jollwah replied to abulurd's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Remember that the spark must jump both gaps to complete the circuit. Therefore the electrical potential must build up higher in the cylinder with the highest resistance to spark, inorder jump the gap and complete the circuit. -
Waste Spark Vs Ignition Boost System?
Mr Jollwah replied to abulurd's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Agreed for the dwell time issue and coil longevity etc etc. But the amount of spark energy expended firing on the waste cylinder is not half. As the density of the mixture in the cylinder effects the resistance at the plug. Waste spark will never be as good as individual coils, but it is cheap and better than the ol distributor days. It is a backwards/sideways step on a skyline tho. -
STD coils haven't given up yet but I was thinking of trying LS1 coils as an upgrade.

Who Can Street Tune Chipped Ecu
Mr Jollwah replied to rnbguy's topic in Forced Induction Performance
Do you have wideband? I guess you could do the basic stuff without an emulator. Have you tried running the rb25 with the r32 ecu? -
Who Can Street Tune Chipped Ecu
Mr Jollwah replied to rnbguy's topic in Forced Induction Performance
WELL your half way there buddy. Just need to work out the target timing and fuel maps from the ecr33.bin get your k value and the other global values right. This sould give you a good starting point eg. stock ecr33 maps in r32 computer. Then you can tune it to your hearts content to suit your set up. Or you can tune from the r32 maps, Just get your global settings right first. Look on net for info on nissan eccs tuning there is heaps. Once you have done all that maybe you can provide a free to all base map and long distance tuning service to all and sundry. Or pay SOMEONE with an EMULATOR and a DYNO to tune it for you. -
Is that similar PEAK torque and power or average peak torque and power. No capacity is not the be all and end all, but volumetric efficiency is so if your playing with a larger volume then all else being equal the larger engine will produce a higher average and overall power and torque figure. Doesn't really matter as this is a pointless "horse for a course" argument really.

Either that or try one of those 6sp truck boxes out of a commodore and a 4.3 auto diff?
