Oil Pickup Modification Rb30/rb26
Mr GTR-32 replied to leeroy_25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Is the internal pickup reliable, can anyone who has done the RB30 bottom end with this shed some light on there personnel experiences are there any benefits from going to an external, or is it just a cost decision. -
Front Castor And Camber Arms R32 Gtr
Mr GTR-32 replied to Mr GTR-32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for that info i have been doing alot more research lately and yeah i have been told the same. I will go the adjustable castor and camber arms to get it right as i will be doing some occasional track work, i guess you might as well spend a little more once than doing it right a second time. I will look into the cusco and ikeya formula brands for pricing, anyone have any of these that they dont need anymore i would be interested in purchasing them. -
Great yeah i just heard a stupid remark from my local jap performance supplier today saying it cant be done as i paid and had installed my o44 in tank and was told no you wouldnt have one of these. Thanks for clearing that up i was going to get on the phone and blast my installer. cheers.

R32 Gtr Suspension
Mr GTR-32 replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi just thought i would add i have A R32 GTR and have the new Tein monoflex coil overs and with the stock rims my car handles great and the best of all is very comfortable on the road. I dont have a very good back and i will say that these are awesome bit of kit. A few of my friends have had the super streets they are a little softer but are not base height adjustable so when you lower the car it starts to compress the springs and they dont handle and feel as good anymore. I know they are expensive but damn you can have a very good handling street and track car with these. Just my 2 cents of info. -
Anthony do you have any in stock yet Cheers, dave

After some adjustable castor rods for my R32 gtr

atomicbomberman i will try and dig up pics of the cooler installation, i shaved the reo bar and its still all there in perfect condition, the cooler looks fine does not come forward thats the whole reason of shaving the reo bar at the required angles to accomodate the thicker cooler tanks. In regards to the air con fan i did have this probelm but was able to keep mine with some gentle persuasion i was able to slightly push forward the metal grille shrouding so that the fan would not rub on it as i was not going to sacrifice not having a/c. The fan will be only 5mm away from the cooler but will pass i have never posted up pics on the forum as im not very computer literate but if you pm me your mobile phone number i can sms some pics with my phone to you so you can get the idea. cheers, Dave.

Hi i dont have pics but i can say that i installed a 149mm trust tube and fin cooler on the R32 GTR had to shave the inside of the bar to suit which really wasnt that hard, the reo has to be shaved also along the outer edges where the cooler tanks are but again with a small grinder and a little patience you can achieve it easily. Took me 4.5 hrs to cut bar and reo do some dummy fitting etc. Hope this helps good luck.

I have no BOVs on my R32 gtr, i have a problem to where both the bov hoses which are located of the twin turbos joined together via a alloy pipe and hose clamped. Before this i had just the bov hose blocked on the air box side with a solid alloy block in the pipes and the car idled perfect for 1yr. Now i took all the bov steel piping out to clear for some custom intake ram air induction joined the two hoses together with alloy pipe and the idle hunts around and is a little rough down low in rpm range. This doesnt make sense in theory they where blocked of before already only now i took out all the un necessary pipework and it behaves like this. Did the original pipework create some balance of some sort i dont know can anyone shed some light on this please. Cheers.

Hi there, I have a R32 GTR, your intake temp readings from your hand controller are the readings taken from the intake manifold sensor, its not the exact actual air temp from your cooler, i know this because i removed this sensor and tapped it further down into my aftermarket aluminium pipework as the air exists the cold side of the cooler before it starts to run up into the intake manifold and you will find that the actual air temps should be as per outside ambient temperature give or take 2 degree depending on wind chill factor and cooler heatsoak. Yeah i initially thought shit how the hell are my intake temps so high i am running a 149mm tube and fin TRUST cooler but once i relocated it further down the real intake temps where registering and making sense now. Although i dont know if what i have done is a bad thing but i have had my car tuned for over a year now with that done making 325Rwkw and my knock has never been over 20 and fuel economy is around 400klms per tank sensible driving Shielding the pods should help greatly for the initial heat soak they get when sitting around at lights i am going to do this also, hope this helps relocating the sensor is handy to see how well your cooler is working but usually sits around ambient anyway i have had alot of time watching it on the good old hand controller, be more worried about your KNOCK levels thats what destroys engines.
