  1. Thanks for the reply Marko. I finally got it!, and it wasn't too hard with the right tools. I ended up using the following beast of a tool combination: Economy Strap Oil Filter Wrench (1/2" socket with ring strap) -to- small extension bar -to- 1/2" universal joint -to- 450mm 1/2" extension bar -to- 1/2" Ratchet. This allowed me to get the 1/2" bar up and above the intake plenum and thus put some nice leverage on it. Even with all that shit it still wasnt going to give up without a fight, had to swap Ratchet for Breaker Bar
  2. How did you end up getting it off? I am stuck with the exact same problem. Tried from top and underneath by hand and with a 17mm spanner. Because the sender is tucked in I am having trouble getting the spanner square on it, and consequently am rounding the nut In a fit of rage I soaked the bastard with WD-40 but I doubt it will be enough.
  3. This is most definitely a silly question but I am after a straight answer to rid my curiosity. I have an Autometer Oil Pressure Gauge (electric). Attached is the wiring diagram for it. Basically I would like to know if I am able to bridge the 12V lamp wire to the 12V gauge terminal (going to ignition switch), and the ground lamp wire to the ground gauge terminal. The benefits of this would be a reduction in the amount of wires going out from the gauge. The only downside I can think of would be the drag the bulb has on the gauge power source, whether or not this will interfere with the accuracy of the gauge I do not know. What do you think? I am not an electrician so dont judge me
  4. Yea might be an idea. I know James wanted to organise something for next Sunday aswell. Did those Skyline guys you meet frequent SAU by any chance?
  5. Was cool to go out and meet with you James. Thanks for showing me that nice twisty road. Will have to hit it hard next time if weather is up to scratch. I also need to look into the issue with my low oil pressure
  6. Ok I am in for this. Not up for anything too big as I do not want any cop attention but a small meet up would be cool.
  7. What is it with you guys and this last minute cruises? I've been keeping an eye on this forum every night and am always too late to jump in. What do you guys have planned?
  8. +1. Had similar issues with my R32gts-t. Replaced fuel pump + filter, problem solved. Also might be worth checking your AAC valve.
  9. Damn, I only just read about this cruise. I would have loved to have joined in. I replaced my fuel pump on that day and went out for a high spirited drive through Mooloolaba. No more lean problem YAY! Next time guys.
  10. I disagree. With the whole "Anti-Hooning" thing being the flavour of recent times, cops are looking for more an more things to get imports off the road. A friend of mine got defected for cutting a hole through the support below the battery tray. Having said that, I have cut through mine to install my Just Jap cooler and have never gotten done. I have been looked over by the cops on 3 occasions. But I feel it will be more harder to get away with those types of things these days.
  11. Hahaha, thanks for that Mark. Great picture, I will be sure to pass on any credit for it directly to you.
  12. PMs sent to both users above.
  13. Basically I am after the left and right rear interior trim pieces that the rear seat belts feed through. I am also after a full set of seat belts. Please reply via PM or post in my Queensland classified thread below: My WTB thread in Queensland classifieds
  14. I am after a set of left + right pillar trims that fit at the top rear and have the rear seat belts feeding through. I think they are A Pillar trims but have attached a pic in case I am wrong. I am also after factory seat belts all round. Only interested if these items are in good condition/working order. I am willing to pick up or pay for postage. Regards, Steve.
  15. PM sent regarding seat belts
  16. Did you plug up the hole under the battery tray? If not they could still pick you up on that. Apparently that is a life threatening modification to the structural integrity of the car
  17. Exactly. There is no such thing as a "Random" Breath Test. I have only been on the Sunshine Coast for 4-5months and I can tell you that the cop presence is far worse in Toowoomba if you can believe. It all comes down to flavour of the month. The media focus on a dramatic traffic accident (eg: dickhead crashing an import at high speed); bleeding hearts do gooders complain that the police are not doing their jobs; Cops host massive defect checks and target every import until their quota's are met in order to respond to the outburst with facts and figures. It's hard not to hate the cops because they are the ones pulling you over for nothing, but they are not all that is to blame. I just stay smart and stay low. I take my bike out when I want to go for a thrash, and I cruise around discretely in my Skyline to show that I am still alive.
  18. Im after the drivers side power window combo switch. pm sent.
  19. Yep, smashing a socket over them is the way to go. I lost my lock nut and was told by Tyrepower that I would need to get a panel beater to smash them off as they were the tricky type. The lock nuts were the 'rounded' type with the key pattern recessed into them. I decided to buy a pack of deep sockets from Super Cheap for like $12 and matched the sockets against the rounded nuts. I ended up finding a size just a bit bigger than the lock nut, tapped it on with a hammer, and was able to remove it with a ratchet. Took some time beating each nut out of the socket so the socket could be reused on another nut but it's better than replacing stripped studs from smashing them off or something.
  20. Just wondering if the dude with the Gunmetal Grey R32 from Darling Heights, Toowoomba is a member on here. I was following behind you on my way home at about 9:20pm tonight, I came out sideways when following you into Stenner
  21. I had the same issue. Check your O2 Sensor. Warm the car to the point where the idle starts to suffer and disconnect the O2 Sensor. Wait a while and see if the idle smoothes out. If it does, it's a problematic O2 Sensor. You can also test the O2 Sensor with a multimeter to check that it constantly varies between 0-1V when at operating temp.
  22. Bump! Still on Ebay for $30. ONLY 6 HOURS LEFT!!!!
  23. I solved my Idle problem. Symptoms: Car idle slowly drops down to near stalling and then raises back up to normal idle momentarily. This only occurs when stationary at idle with car at operating temperature. Tapping the accelerator will also send the idle on a skydive down and it will studder until it slowly raises back to normal. Cause: Faulty O2 Sensor. The car idles normal at cold start because the ECU ignores the O2 Sensor until it is at operating temperature. Once the O2 Sensor is at operating temperature, the ECU will begin to read the voltage from it. If your O2 Sensor is faulty, it will not be able to give the ECU a quick, accurate result, and will result in poor idle as the ECU acts on this false reading. Solution: Check O2 Sensor with a multimeter to confirm if it is faulty/dead. The following site contains an FAQ on how to do this: O2 Sensor FAQ On my multimeter I noticed that it did not go under 0.45V, and when revved at 2,000rpm it stayed at a constant voltage. It shouldnt do this, a functional O2 Sensor should fluctuate rapidly. Hope this helps.
  24. I have the same thing. At first I thought it was a Vacuum leak, but after testing with soapy water and listening with a hose I found nothing. Now I suspect it is a faulty O2 Sensor. When the car starts idle hunting try disconnecting your O2 Sensor and wait around 30seconds. When I did this my idle stopped still at 900rpm. My theory is that the car runs fine until the O2 Sensor is warmed to operating temperature as the ECU ignores this reading until that time. Once the O2 sensor is operating, the ECU reads a false value and idle struggles as the O2 Sensor is not able to keep the ECU up to date with accurate readings. I tested my O2 Sensor at operating temp with a multimeter and noticed that it does not vary in voltage as it should. I am going to test another O2 Sensor. Will let you know how it goes.
  25. Item now listed on ebay: Ebay - R32 Fog Lights
