  1. LOL yes, but what components are used, what thrust washers. I do know that two b/b units built by garrett only used smaller degree thrust washers, turbos failed soon after, apparently rebuilds do not automatically qualify for the 360o thrust washer...perhaps this is the problem. So no one can confirm exactly what is used in each application? Or if its actually brand new? Also in the failed applications are ppl running bovs? The added surge increases load on smaller degree thrusts, (under 360o thrusts might already be a problem in themselves) and can easily be one of the contributing factors to these failures, not just in ball bearing units, but in all turbos.
  2. What do they actually replace with these high flow units? And what kind of thrust bearings do they use? old, new, 360o? I have had mutiple garrett units fail in various applications and seem to see similar characteristics in all. However am yet to see it in my trust units...just wondering if there are any noted differences here.
  3. just wondering were you guys running bovs at all?
  4. Hope all those that attended had a great day. Sadly my car didnt make it, every time I try and get down to an event something happens...I give up.

    Fuel In Melb

I over heard some truckies talking that diesel was running out too due to some driver strike or similar. Perhaps this could be why?
  6. I have checked their site, and they say a car must be road worthy. Ahhh What defines roadworthy? LOL How about safe? I have all brakes, suspension, tires, seatbelts, some interior...but my car doesnt exactly meet emissions or noise requirements. Do you think this would be a problem?
  7. Awe I didnt realise that it was friday night I never have any idea what day it is these days lol. I'll be at calder on friday night. If it is rained off again, Ill pop out to this, so shoot me a pm anyway! Cheers, Danielle
  8. Cheers for that. Might try and bring the fwd exa turbo out for a play!
  9. do you have to be an ndsoc member to go? I'd love to bring one of my cars along to this, but I'm not a member?
  10. Yeah I"m keen. Please pm details. But I dont have a skyline back together...have something else I'm playing with atm.
  11. I am of the belief only lillydale area bogans in imports, will be targetted by police. But they are on the lookout for 4 door import vehicles posing as "family cars"
  12. please provide all numbers of the ecu. And exactly what ecu are you after. Please call Sam on 0425818755 Thanks
  13. Dont dry cell batteries need a charger with a lot more oomph than normal batteries? What sort of battery do you have and what charger are you using? I had my dry cell on charge with a small charger for quite a few days...lol it didnt work at all Maybe try a new battery (not a new dry cell they can be $$$$) at least it will rule it out.
  14. Provoking some people is nearly dangerous. Some people are actually mental out there, some are not...I'm unsure what category I fit into. Ah for the love of road rage! Not normally one to get upset on the roads, but on one occasion I have been known to stop mid traffic, get out of my car and approach the woman behind me who quite obviously was having a bad day and decided to act in a moronic manner behind me, at me. It was a narrow two way street, *Its about now I was loving the width of my 33* after her offensive, dangerous and aggressive actions I simply out on my indicator, pulled over, jumped out and approached her car... she took off before I could calmly ask her, if there was a problem with her vehicle malfunctioning or if she was just a rude bitch. I'm hoping she will now think twice before she tries to harass someone off the road. It was hardly rage, as I was completely calm at the time
  15. I love total care! Covers me no matter what car I drive, even if its on a trade plate! But usually when I need these guys its something pretty bad, so I just request a tow. Dont trust the mobile units. Would def never be without it, and I even work in the automotive industry. lol
  16. Re-map it!!! Keep all your current ecu functions that may not be offered by pfc or tricked by forms of mgmt. And enhance the std maps to best suit your current mods.
  17. r33 ecu's are now re-mappable via Dr drift. Probably best to drop sam an email..he can certainly shed some light on the options for you.
  18. Sam will be doing a remap of my RB25 as soon as it's back from the machine shop & assembled
  19. hey dont be worried of the wall, its unlikely you'll have the speed up to get through all the dirt to the far wall, and at the other side, if you get to that part sideways you'll already have the skills to not even come close to the wall. Chris De Jager is on hand to give you all the pointers and assistance you want or need. He was awesome with me on my first time out, as I was pretty worried about it all, but after the first few runs I was hooked.
