  1. that FD is by a tech college - so, while being extremely gay, it almost gets an 'out of jail' card. This, however, was unforgivable;
  2. irrational, yet extreme fear of having to negotiate romaji on an EMS invoice
  3. I was only interested in the rotars - here's my pics for those who care: http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=508647
  4. and yes - you do have to own it for 12 months - more, actually (when you think about it)
  5. silvia was an 88 wasn't it?
  6. I went today. I thought it was lame - waaaaay too many euros with big rims (who cares!).
  7. there was a lot of misinformation when the regulation was initially announced/implemented. Some people are still getting their clients to do it - which is either them making a buck somehow, or just ignorence.
  8. "The law on gas does not change under different car import regulations as it is an environmental law covering any import of banned gas be it a car or a fridge. A r34 sould have newer acceptable gas however." WRONG: "If you are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident who is returning to Australia or you are a Migrant, Tourist or Temporary Resident, you may bring with you your motor vehicle into Australia as part of your personal effects. However, if the vehicle is a one-off import for your personal use and that it is not for trade or commerce, you will not require a licence under the Department of the Environment and Heritage's Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Management Act 1989. Please note, you will only be permitted to import one vehicle in any licensing period. You will need to provide to your Shipping Agent/Freight Forwarder or Customs Broker:- ァ A copy of your identification/information page of your passport as well as a copy of the visa that entitles you for entry to Australia; ァ A statement saying that the vehicle is a one-off import that is for personal use and is not for trade or commerce and that you the importer will not be bringing in any other vehicles. Vehicles in the above circumstances can contain HFCs, HCFCs, or CFCs and will not require degassing/retrofitting prior to coming into Australia. Your shipping agent/freight forwarder/customs broker will need to provide this information to the Australian Customs Service who will contact our office for verification and clearance. Your shipping agent/ freight forwarder or customs broker can contact our office directly on either +61 2 6274 1373 or + 61 2 6274 1237 if they have any questions in relation to the above. Kind regards, Fiona Gardner A/g Licensing Co-ordinator Ozone and Synthetic Gas Team Department of the Environment and Heritage Telephone: + 61 2 6274 1373 Facsimile: + 61 2 6274 1610"
  9. "Any hidden costs that often get overlooked?" the fact that the govt will charge you GST that includes - the car cost (independantly evaluated for personal imports) + shipping + import tax (so it's a tax on a tax!). Very rude. the fact that you need a broker in japan - as well as in australia the fact that customs have fees that you 'might' need to pay (when they say 'might', they mean 'will') on the plus side - don't get your ac degassed - as you don't need to do that for personal imports. I know people who have been getting it done - obviously dotars isn't telling people the exact rule? Anyway - double check with the EPA I think most people forget about state registration, green slip, blue slip, insurance etc - don't forget to factor that into your budget

I want to see pictures to prove your user name
  11. I'm going - probably on the sunday
  12. they would go on diameter, I'd assume
  13. re: painting. Nissan would do painting on their own parts. Aftermarket (even those they distribute through the dealer network) would almost certainly need painting.
  14. are these nissan options? (don't have time to check their site atm)
  15. yeah - available direct from nissan. Very convenient
  16. I don't know about it being different. If I read the gialla site correctly, they say that you can order the v35 gear directly from a nissan dealership. I'll check that though.

    Raybrig Hid Kit

top diagram, upper section (from left to right) green over blue to the right of that is white over orange top diagram, lower section red over black to the right of that is brown over light green bottom diagram first set (not underlined) is green over blue to the right of that is white over orange hope that makes sense
  18. I believe I can get it direct from nissan. Let me know if you want help - same terms as before.
  19. that looks like a nagaoka plate - nagaoka is the second biggest city in niigata (after niigata city), and one of the 'snow capitals' of an area that is renowned for deep snow. so glad I'm in kansai now! hate that niigata snow... A friend of mine (a keen boarder) who used to live near me in niigata used to go to area a lot (winter for boarding, summer for the koi) - but he reckoned the hokkaido powder was the best. I'll take the sun, thankyouverymuch
  20. aftermarket speedo too - so you won't know the real kms
  21. according to what I can find on google: ƒAƒ“ƒ`ƒ‰ƒOƒVƒXƒeƒ€ good luck finding a product though - it's not the kindest system to put on a car
  22. If they can be laid flat, or near enough - then you shouldn't have issues with dimensions - bubble wrap 'em! I get exhaust parts (several items, inc piping) sent from australia this way - boxed they would be over the limit, but they just bubble wrap them as is if you are 'crafty' you could make up a custom box (ie: with no, or little, unused volume) - but I think the wrap should be good enough.
  23. traction - good enough (they all suffer from wheel hop though) - but nothing compared to an evo 7. For basic bolt-ons - you'll get a lot more out of the FD though. "Nothin beats a hot fd with a big single conversion" you can easily reach the limits of street tyres with the twins - the fastest I know of is 10.8 400m (non sequential, very low 11 in sequential). And you'll never match the driveability with a single (technology is getting there, but it's not there yet).
  24. are you boxing the seat? or just wrapping it? how 'flat' do they go?
  25. you might be missing something - check the formula they use. The biggest thing I've sent was jimbo's v35 spoiler (boxed) - was about 1.45m long (the length limit is 1.5m. I can't remember the other dimensions though)
