  1. that's not what it says. to the op, I'd suggest you hold onto the original - so that when you eventually sell the car - you can verify the true _original_ kms.
  2. please tell me you're kidding! 100% illegal - and for good reason.

with 2nd hand parts - the mantra is always ノークレームノーリターン - so bear that in mind - people who buy things for you bear no responsibility for what you get that said - I've had a fairly good experience with yahoo. A few things were a little more beat up than expected, and one product was totally wrong (16bit harness instead of 8 - for a pfc) - but all in all, not too bad. Still - it's far from risk free.

20% is bloody cheap. SAFC (new) yahoo prices are 27,900yen - so he's doing it for pretty much nothing (in my opinion). I charge a flat rate of 10,000 for just about anything I do (multiple units, okay) - not worth my time and effort otherwise. If he's charging you 20% on a 2nd hand unit - he's crazy (which is good for you). The domestic freight is going to be around 1000yen or so. Not sure of the weight - but, as an example, a 2kg package is going to cost around 4,500yen via standard airmail. and, of course, there's always the chance of getting pinged for duty when it arrives...
  5. because MD has 0 popularity - journalists and muso's are the only people who ever saw a use for them
  6. translate what? there's pretty much no info there - it's a black hcr32 with a 5spd and lots of kms
  7. that's not going to help you.
  8. you are aware, (a) that the photographer has a lot to do with the image, and (B) only a handful of us actually own GTRs
  9. yeah, it's never going to be sanctioned and regulated motor racing - part of the spirit of drifting is that any old p.o.s can roll up and have a go
  10. if you're using ie, try view > encoding > japanese
  11. I brought mine with me
  12. if you're after watanabe rims, try using ワタナベ in your searches... if you already know that, then just ignore me
  13. Not when you have a wife;)
  14. the FD will go in may and the s/tb will follow in july (...if I have the cash, fingers crossed)
  15. well, I guess specific compliancing is a different ball game. I need a compliancer who can deal with the rather simple business of personal import compliancing. I'm pretty much from newcastle (lived there most of my life) - and am coming home in august
  16. btw newie people, see you in august do you guys get your compliancing work done in newcastle, or is it down to sydney?
  17. discharge = HID??
  18. the comments opposite the front passenger wheel? talking about the navigation system. Apparently 'you can watch tv as you drive!' - except you won't be able to. kanji is typically unreadable (japanese person might be able to work it out, due to familiarity) sales point says - moon roof, factory navi/tv, bodykit, and 'discharge' (? that one's escaping me at the moment) looks very stock
  19. Any skyline is part of a long line of family cars - they (for the most part) just happen to be very well equipped 'family' cars. I wouldn't be using the 'family car' theory as any part of a slanging match. It's a bit of a moot point anyway - it's an argument that doesn't go anywhere, or prove anything. About all you can criticise the falcons for is weight (and build quality). 'Different' handling is a by-product of that weight - they certainly can get around the track fast enough, but won't have the 'feel' that many appreciate. 4L + big factory turbo will always = very impressive power. Luckily for the skyline boys, it seems that the xr6 can't get the power down to the ground particularly well (seems to be a common ford trait). The biggest plus for the ford is that you can buy it easily at any ford dealership, brand spanking new, and with a worthwhile warranty (how often you need to use said warranty is another matter altogether...). I wouldn't buy one, but I won't knock their abilities either.
  20. I'm not really worried about the color scheme - but the default is a bit more 'work-safe' (ie: I don't get japanese people staring over my shoulder every five minutes, as they so like to do)
  21. can we poll it? or at least have an option to change it back to default.
  22. aww, that's a shame, but I guessed it was either that or someone fibbing
  23. no, it's most definitely a case of being 'fooled' - I understand where you are coming from, re: marketing - but if someone offers you a spoonful of shit, do you eat it?
  24. okay, part II... * I can't deceipher the first 'sales point' - first kanji is 'car', second appears to be 'high', I think the last is chou - which can mean condition/style. It's a total guess, but I think the inference is that this is a 'high-level car' (probably a reference to the degree of modification) * has 17" rims * has a 'takuu' bar (?) * from my translation, it says "The owner has done a lot of modifications to this car, to confirm everything (on the car) come and look at it". I think, it suggests that there may be a lot more mods to the car * pillow-ball tension rods * oil catch can * there's something about lock-nuts and a spare key - but not sure what (I would hope it says that they come with the car...) * seat(s?) are worn/damaged * the floor of the boot has been repaired * the car has had repairs done, including dent repairs ('dent' is a very cool kanji - you learn something every day!) * there are scratches and dents on the underbody (I'd assume there probably is surface rust too - but that is not listed) * rear 'spo' (I'm guessing that is an abbrev. form of 'spoiler'...) has a scratch
  25. by stonechips - I meant, chips on the front glass (windscreen)
