Yeah Japanese people treat each other like complete shyte. From what I observe it just works on "rank". If you are "below" someone you get treated like a bitch, if you are "above" them you get treated like a god. But people don't hesitate for a second to abuse their god status. Basically there seems to me there is absolutely zero empathy in Japanese culture. I guess the "do undo others" idea is a judeo-christian deal.

Nothing happens in the second minute though??

Again, just be a bit careful about lead times, itis quite possible they may only make certain things after an order is placed.

Well when you are in Osaka you can go to Jenesis. It is closed on Tuesdays though. If you are in Osaka you would be going from Shin-Osaka station. The closest train station is Kumeda on the JR-Hanwa line. I made a little map of how to get from the station to Jenesis it is only 1.1km but should be good exercise carrying carparts!

http://l-tike.com/pc/d1/AA01G04F1.do?txtEv...p;srcID=AA02G01 Print that out and grunt at the Lawsons guy... the most important part is the L-code 52806 There is a list of the other codes on the Suzuka website if you prefer to buy elsewhere http://www.mobilityland.co.jp/ticket_s/2008/d1/index.html

They have them in different versions made from different materials in Red and Black Sisal - http://www.tanigawaya-shop.co.jp/shop/A219...0/syoinfo/39742 Flaxy - http://www.tanigawaya-shop.co.jp/shop/A219...0/syoinfo/37687 So I guess it depends which one you prefer

The best place is Tanigawaya shop in Mie 三重県鈴鹿市神戸3-11-7 [〒513-0801] Karo R30 "Wooly" floor mats But there is a lead time on orders so in all honesty it would be better to get someone to order them.

76.8Km 1,280yen Tokyo - Soga (Keiyo Line) Soga - Mobara (Sotobo Line) Then use the horrible map to get from Mobara station to the circuit and hand over around 2,600yen to the taxi driver.

HEehe not sure if you have heard of a thing called Golden Week, but if you think the train is going to be a marathon than you are going to love driving! But having a car for drift matsuri does make life much much easier. But basically you just get on the Tokyo Gaikan Expressway from wherever you are in Tokyo, then change onto the Tohoku Expressway, get off at Nihonmatsu and follow the closest Silvia. I always get lost getting from Nihonmatsu to Ebisu because I am usually about to fall asleep. Also because I used the hideously inadequate map provided by Ebisu's website (see attached). Should cost around $70 in tolls, but I stopped counting after a while I must admit. It is 280km or so from Tokyo and should take about 6 hours give or take a couple of hours. To save yourself a lot of heartache buy the Shobunsha Road Atlas... it won't get your to Ebisu, but it will get you to Nihonmatsu. Also buy a compass. edit: I attached some more useful maps to get you from Nihonmatsu to Ebisu Circuit, they all show the same thing so try to overlay them. I also attached a picture of what you will see when you actually get there, as it may not be what you expect.

http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6390.html I am not sure if there is a bus from there, I know there are buses from Gotemba (610yen) and Suruga-Oyama (570yen) or the taxi for about 3,500yen. There are tickets on the gate but it is probably worth going to Lawsons convenientce store and getting tickets from there, using the ticket machine things they have. 99% you will need one for Sunday. L Lawson Ticket code: Saturday's code 31280 (1,500yen) 2,000yen at the gate Sunday's code 31290 (2,300yen) 3,300yen at the gate p.s. Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow so no D1 for me, also it is pretty far from Osaka. I might go to Suzuka.

Well now you do! http://www.c-jpn.com/shopguide/index.htm 376-5 sonnou-cho,inage-ku,chiba city, chiba, japan. tel:81-43-256-1331 From Tokyo station they need to take the "Sobu Line" to Chiba Station, then from Chiba Station they need to catch the Chibatoshi-Monorail to a station called "Sports-Center", then walk north past Maccas and a toyota dealer and it should be on the left!

Yeah sorry about that, need to get that front page sorted out and updated. The direct link to the calendar is still ok http://www.dr1ft.jp-a.googlepages.com/dr1ft.jp%3A%3Aevents Best bet for getting to the track is as early as possible, but it will mean a lot of sitting around doing nothing before the event. Gates open at 7:30am http://d1gp.co.jp/schedule_ticket_2008_2_fuji.html

Well I am trying to work out a good way to help people watch drifting in Japan so here is a shot at it. http://www.motorsportscom.info/drift/2008/round-01/ http://twincircuit.co.jp/ The gates open at 7am but it is a looong way away from everywhere so The closest train station to Suzuka Twin (鈴鹿ツイン) is called Shimonoshou (下庄) Now because most people who visit Japan will have a JR pass I will give the JR route. If you know enough about Japan to use a different line then you don't need these directions anyway But you can type your local station in this website and find the route yourself if you want http://www.jorudan.co.jp/english/norikae/e-norikeyin.html FROM OSAKA (3.5 hours ¥2,210) Osaka -> Tennoji (Osaka Loop Line) Tennoji -> Kamo (Kansai Line) Kamo -> Kameyama (Kansai Line) Kameyama -> Shimonosho (Kisei Line) FROM KYOTO (3.5 hours ¥1,890) Kyoto -> Kizu (Nara Line) Kizu -> Kamo (Kansai Line) Kamo -> Kameyama (Kansai Line) Kameyama -> Shimonosho (Kisei Line) FROM NAGOYA (1.5 hours ¥1,110) Kamo -> Kameyama (Kansai Line) Kameyama -> Shimonosho (Kisei Line) Once you get to Shimonosho there will probably be a whole lot of not much around. So either you need to do some serious walking or catch a taxi. It is around 4km or so would over an hour of exercise. I am not sure if you can go bush bashing east from the station, I will have to try it one day. The "local" taxi company are these guys 0592276161 http://www.sanco-taxi.co.jp/ hopefully they will be there but you may have to call. I want to go to Suzuka Twin Circuit Sue Zoo car - two in - Sar Kit toe - knee - it eh coo da sigh 鈴鹿ツインサーキットに行って下さい I want to go to Shimonosho Train Station She Moe Know Show Ecky - knee - it eh coo da sigh 下庄駅に行ってください Can you please call a taxi for me? ????? Please bear in mind that there is Suzuka Circuit, Suzuka Minami Circuit, Suzuka Twin Circuit and Motorland Suzuka so best idea would be to show them a picture of the map or this address 三重県鈴鹿市三宅町2913-2

不正改造 - illegal modifications 違法改造 - unauthorized modification I don't really understand the difference between the two, but this pictures tells you what happens when you make 不正改造 to your car!

We need to work out a better way to get the info out there. I guess we don't notice the people who search for info and don't post but there does seem to be the same questions getting asked a lot. I have some ideas for my website. I guess I should get stuck into it and make it happen.

How Is Life Without A License? Lol

Imagine the scene where they are in the bar in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It is a bit like that with added paranoia.Currently 11 months into a two year suspension. Couple of close calls with the cops. Gets the heart racing in a bad way. It was fun visiting Australia to drive legally. -
It is surprising that there is no information about places to go on this forum. I thought there would be.

That means Fuji Speedway, it is not that difficult to get there from Tokyo, I think I gave some detailed directions in a previous post. I just did a big update on the dr1ft.jp calendar so there are now some events around that time. The next Drift Tengoku comes out April 16 so I will update it again with more events. Till then have a look here for some things that may be of interest. http://www.dr1ft.jp-a.googlepages.com/dr1ft.jp%3A%3Aevents

I guess I would like to be able to read more than anything. I have learnt to play the ignorant gaijin most times. I have eaten Natto for the first time 5 times

MENTAL NOTE - Must study Japanese

Yeah, I am really looking forward to it. It is sort of close to me so I will actually be able to go and watch it. The main way is through the event listing in Drift Tengoku magazine... Also the websites for both D1 and MSC. There are also these two sites which have all kinds of events listed.http://www.windsnet.ne.jp/car/ http://soukoukai.com/

Bihoku Highlands has lots of events, but I have only ever heard of one drift event at Okayama. I need to update the map to show all the circuits I know of. Probably the closest would be Setonai in Ehime prefecture on Shikoku island. You would have to cross the bridge but it is pretty close. DVD is coming along very very very slowly unfortunately.
