  1. Thanks for clarifying, but obviously you have little experience if you think I went off You say things on a public forum, so let me just explain to people what you are trying to talk about. What you are talking about was a track day and not Superlap. From an instructors point of view, I hate inexperienced people taking people for for laps around a track. When a huge mistake like that is made by the driver, it could have easliy had 2 people in hospital. As I was the first person on the scene to the incident, to my amazement his whole life was still in the car ie lunch, washing, cd's, 2 people hanging upside down and whatever else. Actually the scene was spread over a 10 metre radius. As I was not involved in organising the day and only employed as an instructor, I saw a number of things that I wanted to address considering I was being put in the passenger seat of the drivers and asked to try and help them. If you were standing on my side of the fence, I can't see what I did as the wrong thing to do. I thought how the organisers were running the day was wrong, hence I no longer choose to instruct at there days. So you stated I had a big cry at Superlap LOL as if. Why would I, because in 2008 I was doing big slides in Elias' S2000 and Penlingtons ZED and having the time of my life. Back to Superlap now
  2. Um please explain, as it sounds as though you are a little delirious and confused
  3. So I have found out today that a Commodore V8 powered Supercar has now entered with a 7 litre
  4. Will be at both testing/instructing
  5. No reason why it could not run
  6. So that 32 is looking good then LOL Actually that description sounds like the footage I have seen of you at Targa Benny hahahaha
  7. Jose Fernandez is driving the Ford XR6T/V8 Supercar The car is weighing just over 1300kgs atm This car has done a 31 in Supercar trim and Jose last did a 33 around the creek in a Supercar. Make no mistake, this thing will be quick. It will be running on fat Dunlop's and is running full V8 Supercar suspension, rear end etc This car has full FPR data and set up with it as well. The engine should be finished this week. Alot of people forget that these things are purpose built race cars from day one, with tubbed front and rear ends, lightweight panels etc I think this thing could be a dark horse for sure
  8. It is for real. Actually I have been told it is close to 1100 flywheel hp
  9. Looks like the new Tilton Interiors EVO that they are building is going to be a weapon as well 1000hp and 1000kgs!!! So yes, there is going to be a 2 car Tilton Team
  10. So should we look out for spectators, or rolling spectators coming through the fence as we go around Turns 2 and 3
  11. Open is now full as well
  12. Benny, I think they are planning on only having 12 cars on the track in each Open sesion (which will probably be the biggest groups)...or around that figure. As long as people watch there mirrors and car's are of similar speed, I cannot see why you would not have a clear track for the whole session, as it is nearly 4kms in length. Pro class will be even less traffic
  13. ^^^^^^^^ OOhhhhh yes, sorry I forgot Chris Will send
  14. I saw the marks on the track (not your undies) a couple of days after you were at the creek and thought wtf!? haha I was suppose to be there on the same day but had a date clash. It is a reality check and makes you realise how quick you are travelling at around the creek. Well done on the save....could have been much much worse Watched the vids of the R34...looks like it is full time RWD
  15. Hey Russ How bad is the scratch on the Octane R32 from testing at Eastern Creek last week? Must of been one hell of a ride!!
  16. Steve, I would not try and change the settings much from where they were on the day. The car was much better with the changes we made to the front, as it helped it turn in much better. In ideal conditions a 44 is on the cards And to think this car was in full Clubsprint Superlap Spec And Steve, I think you will find it is official as it is on Natsoft.
  17. I was giving some private tuition to a couple of guys yesterday at the creek who are both running in clubsprint. Far out, there are some fast cars around. R33 GTR in clubsprint spec doing a 45.4 on a hot day is not mucking around. Also good to see Lofty out there with the BSM R32 GTR doing some serious testing. They were pulling 280kph down the chute and were well below the 40 sec bracket
  18. There is certainly a twist with all of that. Benny, Dave and Harry you are all correct. I caused crap when I ran in Clubsprint the first year. Two of the cars I am driving this year are company cars and would fit into clubsprint I am not sure how they can have 2 rules like that, as the HDT Commy was driven by a V8 Fujitsu Driver last year in Clubsprint. Steve will be fast in anything
  19. On road tyres, the R35 for sure. I suppose my point was that if you have the right combo in a rwd car you could certainly give it a crack as long as there were no gun drivers in R35's lol I think that is what makes this event so appealing. With all of the different car, tyre, driver combo's it is awesome. EC suits the R35 so much because there is not much stop/start stuff, so the weight of the R35 is not much of a concern compared to a track like Oran GP was. You should see how fast this little NA Front Drive Civic is that I am planning on running
  20. It is true about awd cars having grip, but a well sorted rwd with a good driver will give them a run. The S2000 weighed in just over 1300kgs in 2008 and did ok against the awd's I would say your 600hp GTR sounds pretty exciting to be honest. With a decent steerer it would give it a shot if everything else is sorted like brakes and the handling department.
  21. Looks like there will be no time to test the car here, just the driver
  22. Sounds like he has quite a CV
  23. I at Eastern Creek today doing some driver training and have found out the driver for the Sierra Sierra Evo is coming over a week before Superlap for some serious tuition and track time. Looks like money is not much of a problem for these guys
  24. Hi Crew What a massive day it was. Thanks so much for the support you all showed to come out to this day. To have Instuctors like Glenney, Bargwanna, Dyk and Seiders on hand made it so much easier for me to make sure everything was running smoothly. I was able to do a few laps in the afternoon which was great. I tried to tick every box that you would like at a track day....sorry there were no dancing girls though. To have mechanical track support on hand if people needed it, which they did was fantastic....thanks Lofty and Scruff From Matt Mead Photography (legend), the coffee guy, to medical staff, tilt trays, lunches, timing it was all pretty much there. There will be plenty more of these days run in the future, obviously just not at Oran Park. See all the pic's from the day here www.matthewmead.net
  25. Yep, he did a 44.2 in a stocker R35
