What a great day out Congrats to Garth in the EVO for taking the day out. The last shootout is not the overall prize..........it is the fastest lap you put down throughout the whole day, and Garth killed them. There is no doubt Mark's GTR will be much much faster with the front wheels connected haha He and I were following each other at one time, and we were sliding at exactly the same points. We were pretty happy with the 15.3 in JP's zed. It was able to put the power down so much better than last year. He has made huge improvements in the rear end. The brakes are awesome...and what can I say abou that dogbox, I love it The track was not flash during the day, as I posted the fastest time on lap 3 in the 1st session. The only thing that we struggled with during the day was front grip, maybe I should have tried power oversteer into the corners. Thanks JP for the awesome ride, and to such a fantastic to work with. There is plenty more time to be had in Black Betty When can we do a practice day Open class for me was suppose to be pretty busy, but the boys could not get the STi running properly at the workshop on Saturday, so I only had 2 cars to run.........the Lotus and the S2000. Went out first in the S2000 and did my fastest lap on lap 1!! Lap 2 felt awesome, as the tyres were coming up to temp...but so was the engine. I came off the bridge and then the engine went into limp mode as the temp was sky high. We tried various things throughout the day to fix it, but we did not want to cause anymore damage. I thought it would have given open a good crack, but we realised the damage to the gasket had been done a week prior to the event We are now thinking of how we can make it stop and go around corners a little better....and it still weighs around 1300kg. Still, the 16.2 that I managed on lap 1 was still good enough to take out 3rd outright in open. Thanks Elias for allowing me to drive the beast, Scott at Insight and the Vi-pec Second group for me was in Jason's Southern Motor Works Lotus. This Lotus still has the little 1.8 Toyota engine, but he has installed a turbo. The thing does not produce mega HP/KW and weighs over 1000kgs with me in it. I was suppose to drive this car last year. Due to the passing of Jason's father last year, he had a year off. I did a 15.2 on lap 2 in the Lotus before the day got too hot. We kept improving the car throughout the day, but could not go any faster. The track temp at one stage was 49 degrees. I was glad to put a smile on Jason's face after the year that he had last year. We took out Fastest RWD, fastest 4 cylinder and took ou the little one lap screamer at the end of the day. The car was actually good enough to finish 5th outright in open.......yes .0796 faster than the ZED. Thanks Jason for the sensational little car, and to your family and crew for the day. This car runs MOTEC My mate Browny in the little Back and Green RX7 had a ball coming 2nd in open. Ryan and I have raced and worked with each other over the years.......that result was due to alot of hard work over the years, a great car and driver. Ryan is currently leading the NSW IPRA series. Thanks to the superlap crew for an even better superlap second year around. The sessions ran like clockwork, the driving standards were improved and the hot promo girls that happened to be in the S2000's garage were sensational!!!! Bring on the next one

Ok Crew For those that are coming out on Sunday, I will see you then. Lets have some fun with some awesome machines, have a good laugh and a great time. I hope to do some big skids in JP's black betty, test the awd grip of an Sti on the black stuff and not the grass, keep the engine behind me in a Lotus and have a smile on my dial as I try to put the power down in the S2000 I am packing my bags and heading to Newcastle for thurs, fri and sat to do some bigger Skids, Slides, Donuts and Jumps for Hilux Heroes. So if any of the Newcastle crew are planning on going to the NC show, come and say hi Hopefully I get back in time for sunday

What a massive day at private practice today at Oran GP. There were over 30 cars. Cars from every class at Superlap were there. Saturday private practice is going to be out of control Sunday is going to be massive!!

HAHAHA at least mine has the standard engine and it is a JAP one.

lol Yeah I know. Not sure of the regs for Prod Sports..... I think there is a power/weight thing as well.

New ones have a Toyota engine Harry PS this thread has come alive. Should I tell you that I am running a Lotus as well hahahaha

Yep the Lotii's are not running in PRO.....written off, not ready etc etc 4 cars will be easy. Looking at the format, I could drive more

Is this Dave Nolan?? 18's is fast for a standard full weight road car . I would like to see what your standard civic does haha The GTR did a 2min24 around Bathurst in standard trim. It could actually stretch its legs up there. The fastest IPRA is a 2min28 LOL

I did not get a chance to see the data. Skaifey was in and out of oran park like a flash!!! I think he did as little as he needed. No pics, sorry. I work for WHEELS as well, so you will have to wait for the mag to come out. The boys were saying Skaifey was doing 18's/19's in the R35. I thought it would do a 17/18....well he is retired haha As I said, I did not get a chance to see the data so I do not know the exact lap times, corner speeds etc I am not sure if Skaifey had a big go in Terrys Winfield car as it is his pride and joy as you would expect. I was having a good chat to Terry and he was upset that the car had to do so many laps for the photographer LOL Was a great site though

LOL Well obviously they did not want everbody to know about it. I had to keep my mouth shut for weeks!!! Was a great day. The R35 was Nissans with the rego plate NEWGTR from VIC. They had the old HR31 out for a play as well!! Will be a feature story in WHEELS in MAY.

Have to let you all in on a secret I am heading out to ORAN PARK today to watch MARK SKAIFE test his old GROUP A R32 GTR (the Winfield car) that is now owned by Terry Ashwood. He is testing this car on the GP at full flight. It is a two car test. The other car is the new R35 GTR, and will be a story in an upcoming WHEELS magazine. They are doing full data today.......lap times, corner speeds etc etc Have a good day
