Good on you Harry. Glad you are coming down to have some fun. Do you still have the Datto?
-
Rather than racing?!?!?! Japan is huge on motorsport. I race there every year. I have a nice little warm up for superlap. I am away with MOTOR magazine for the week testing 20 new cars for 'Bang For Your Buck' We have one Nissan in the field of cars, the 350Z. I will be thrashing the EVO X, Sti, WRX, XR6t sedan and ute, 1 FPV something, SS sedan and ute, 1 HSV something, R26 F1 Renault, JCW Cooper S, 135 BMW and a few more that I just cannot remember Bang has an $80,000 price cap, so no mega exotics.
-
How are the tyres coming along Jas? I have some spare white walls if needed I think they are only 12 inch in diameter as they may be from my old Datto 1200 days.
-
I think we are running 285's on the rear of the Honda S2000. Just got some new wheels so that they will fit in the standard guards....yeah baby.
-
So many good cars still not ready for superlap. It is going to be a battle to get everybody to Oran. Lofty still waiting on parts, BEL still building engine (is it finished yet Uncle Dave) Penlington tuning his car to 600RWKW, Mackie trying to get his car to 600kg lol and the S2000 i am driving is still waiting for engine bits!!!
-
Hi Mr Mackie Don't try and tell us the Lotus is a cheap build Super cool cars which I just love driving. I heard a rumuor today that Peter Lucas is worried that he may not be fast enough ( only 11's on slicks on the weekend) and is thinking of getting Bargs or Luffy to drive the car at superlap The GT3 Lotus did a 1.09 with Luffy at the wheel, and he thinks it may do a 1.08 (on slicks). That car would never be that fast on R compound I think Peter should drive his car at superlap to give us a chance on the day. Will be an awesome day. Looking forward to catching up
-
Well I am no pro driver, so I can't Jas LOL
-
Jason cannot find a supplier with the correct size retreads so I have been told!!
-
Ah yes, and a hard top. You and your dad came out to do a course with us a few months ago.
-
LOL that is your thoughts, not ours. Imagine if every car owner in motorsport actually drove there own cars......from drags to F1. Could be interesting LOL Not a red MX5 with vodafone over it by any chance?
-
The MX5 could be. You have read the posts. Open cars will be doing around the 12's, clubsprint cars around the 18's I guess. Interesting idea about the stickers, but may I ask why??
-
Yep, the lotus is parked for this event. JP has offered me the drive of his car as all can see. I have not driven it that much, but it should be pretty quick around the GP. I think JP has done a 17 or 18 in it, and to be fair has not had too much experience around the GP circuit. Looking forward to the challenge I think my first drive of it in its current setup will be on the 5th July!!! I think JP is thinking with his head and not his heart. Of course he wants to drive himself, but he wants the best for his business. Gives him more time to walk around the pits and answer questions about his toy.

Who, what, when?? Hey Brad, I thought when I was driving the wheels were in the air!!!! I don't think they touched the ripples Seriously guys, one day at Oran touching ripples on the unloaded side of the car is not going to put your alignment out. Imagine the V8 supercars halfway through Bathurst LOL How could they make it to the finish line with all of there ripple touching. Bring on superlap, I can't wait to 2 wheel JP's ZED
-
A quick question to superlap. How much of the body are you allowed to lighten? Can you replace to whole body with carbon? Or like sports sedans, do you still have to retain the original roof?
-
Sounds like lots of people are struggling to get cars ready. 1.01's at Wakey in an NA!!! V8 supercars do sub 60's and they are NA
-
Well now that the exiges have entered..........I think they will do 11's or 12's. I think the quickest I have done is a 14, in a restricted GTR. I don't think any GTR will do a 10 or 11 unless they are on a slick. It does not matter how much power you have, it still has to go through 'R' compounds. My opinion anyway I am pretty sure the quickest exige does a 9 on slicks. So yes my money is on the exiges
-
Yep the yellow GT. And yes caused by the oil slick coming out of the back. I was actually in the passenger with sam in her SP23 and the GT went past with oil coming out the back.I said to her, pull in so I can pull the GT in because somebody is going to crash. I pulled into the pits and was waiting for him to come down the main straight so I could point the 'finger' at him .....and next boom. He was about 300 metres short of me!!!!!! No it was the blue R34. Not much damage at all. Brad, your car is awesome. Would love to see what times it would do on a clear track. Don't get me tempted
-
Chris, you are welcome mate. Sorry I could not catch up with you again this afternoon. I was glad that you got George Miedecke in the car with you as well to give you some help. I thought it was an awesome day for learning. Slippery as anything in the morning, and dry in the afternoon. I think you left just before the GT Falcon went into the wall coming onto the straight. An R34 GTR just tagged the wall trying to miss him. That pretty much finished the day.
-
Are you scared of the rain Chris Imagine if superlap is in the rain
-
If you are at a race meeting and formula vee's are running, the track starts to get slower as soon as they hit the track they just lay oil everywhere lol
-
OK the bar has just been raised for the 5th July!!!!! Just had a look at the entries and noticed Mackie and Lucas have entered in the exiges!!!!!!!!!! Peter Lucas just did a 1.34 around the creek on the weekend, while Tim Mackie did a 1.37!!!!!!! So Lucas is 5 seconds faster than Berry around the creek and 9 seconds faster than Penlington. Yes these times were done on slicks. These are proper race cars that have entered and are able to run in open. We are all up sh!t creek.
-
Hey Penlington, is it true that you cracked 13's at Oran in testing during the week??
-
Hey Chris and Anderew. Glad you boys can make it to the day. Chris, you are on Andrew, should be mate. 8.15-8.30 should be ok to rock up. Might be worth giving oran park a call on 46 46 1004 regarding fuel and pricing as we have nothing to do with that
