ditto....cousin just picked one up for $5500 immaculate paint and interior (bucket seats)....dohc.....little pocket rocket...even came with intake,extracters, and sound system not a bad buy for the price 140k on the clock from a 96 model car with one year rego!

would it be possible to obtain a dyno graph of kw output... dont take it the wrong way i'm interested in how the drivability is with such a big turbo....do u recieve any boost on the street? if so what rpm does it start screaming.....cheers!

Its pretty simple...state ur mods done to ur car, include tyre choice.......show ur piece of toilet paper and if u've got half a brain u know who to compare urself to....even within a radial tyre theres everyday street / semi slicks / and drag radials....all i can gaurantee will give u different times.....so whether its cross ply or slicks..... no one is cheating! but u cant compare apples with oranges!

as title suggest...i am after one cam gear to suit an rb25 thanx in advance!

the boost controller ive been using is a dirty old turbo excess....ive notice that the wastegate spring is 4psi ..... next step is hevier spring...install of e-boost and 25psi and ill post up some results

Edit: the .73 rear housing is restricting it to 300rwkw max, so a .63 would be even less. were a bit off with 206rwkw arent we? im preety sure something this size would spin up more than my dirty old cantor turbo

mate u always confuse me.... i thought all gt3040s were the same but just with different rears.....i was actually comparing this to urs.... how would i find this info...on the badge it just says XTR3040 :wassup:

motor is built to rev to 9000rpm and run 30psi of boost.....we winded it up to 22psi with no net results... i strongly feel there would be no point winding it up any more? im aware of the efficiency issues and this would be different on all motors....im happy to run 30psi and rev more to achieve the power.... i was confident that it should see 260rwkw and anything else is a bonus but im dumbfounded

As the title suggest an XTR GT3040 is making max power of 206rwkw from a 1600cc motor at 19psi of boost..... The turbo has a 0.63 rear mounted highly on a custom locally made manifold with external gate...cams are 256 degress in and out...checked and performed all the necessary procedures eg timing etc... AFR are 12 flat and power curve basically hits 206rwkw at 6500rpm and sits there flat to 7300rpm....when u give it more boost...it just reaches this point quicker??? i dont think this is normal is it? Only reason being is that this is a new setup...prior to this there was a high flowed turbo making 220rwkw on 22psi :headspin: any comments would be greatly appreciated THANX

GCG performed the rebuild when i puchased the car from the toy shop in Newcastle.... ive driven approx 5000kms on them in 6 months at 1 bar of boost...ive now decided to upgrade ur car wouldnt b white would it?

as far as i know 'high revs = rod breakage'...im not quite sure what the rb20 rods are rated at and to what limits u are willing to push them.... a good investment from my point of view to shotpeen, linish, a rehole the holes (excuse the terminololgy) an investment of around $70 per rod with upgraded arp rod bolts may be worth stretching ur budget....comparing aprox $400 vs anywhere starting from $1500 for aftermarket rods is food for thought.... ive noticed alot of big cars built by the reuptable workshops in sydney just prep the rods in this manner eg. rb30 and rb26...both pushing 400rwkw + .... not saying rb20 will reach this but i would back it to see up to 300rwkw think it comes down to the good old question what aplication do u have in mine....shot peen etc do strengthen the rods to what extent ... speak to ppl with experience will be the best bet good luck!

ditto...has there been any attempts to organise a night get together at the off st meets? maybe try this, and if everybody does not get to participate due to excessive turn ups maybe then, an individual day? :headspin: the off st meets have a pretty casual environment upon staging and im pretty sure everbody would still have heaps of fun....this happens almost every week... this eliminates the need to pull each others hair out to get things organised

what are the opinions on regrinded cams?? any infomation on this topic would be greatly appreciated... what are the pros and cons for this particular pathway other than costs (rb25)
