  1. Hey Darrin wish I had your problems I hate having to decide on new rims The GTC's will look good I am sure. Have you considered these advan RG2 rims, might even be cheaper and they come in 18 x 9 in a +29 or +22 offset. I reckon they would look sex on your stagea. I must admit I am going off dished rims a bit unless thay have massive offset and super stretched tyres, its becoming the norm now everyone wants dish.
  2. I get so f*ing fed up with the australian ADR rules they are almost nonsensical to the point of being dangerous. You should be able to go into any brake specialist and get custom hoses made up and they should be able to certify that they are safe for use. That is what you go to a brake specialist for in the first place isn't it?
  3. Also it is worth pointing out that actually stopping a car has alot to do with tyres not just the brakes. I do tend to agree with Chuckie I have done a R33 caliper swap F & R, new seals all around, EBC redstuff pads, Slotted rotors, UAS Brake stopper. When I stomp on the brakes the car pulls up bloody quick, I couldn't see you would want much more for street use. (Remember the street isn't a race track so unless you are doing considerable track work a track style setup is a waste of money, it does look nice though ) FYI, I have noticed that since changing wheels and tyres that it seems to pull up even quicker. My std rims were stock RS4S 17 x 7 with 215/50/17 tyres, I have changed to 19 x 8.5 rims with 235/35/19 tyres. The rims are an open 5 spoke style so they let alot more air in and around the brakes than the std rims did also the larger surface area on the road helps also I think.
  4. Wow Darrin, love your work it looks like it could have rolled out of a factory like that. Time to enjoy it now you lucky bugger
  5. I'll have some of those crazy pills, they sound like fun
  6. I found this car for sale and thought I would share it with everyone in case someone is looking for a new Stagea http://firesport.com.au/98-nissan-stagea-r...s--ad138439.htm Its the first stagea I have seen in this colour but I really like it. Also I am curious about the interior picture, it looks to me like there is a crossbrace for the rollcage running directly across the middle of the car. Is this normal? I have never seen this before (but I don't know alot about roll cages anyway) Enjoy..
  7. Depending on where you are in Melbourne either of these places are really good. If you live out West http://www.chasersmotorworks.com.au I just had my 100,000km service done there which covered the following : Timing and Accessory Belts New Water pump All fluids e.g. Engine, Gearbox, Diff, Transfer Cas (They used Motul and Castrol products so not cheap stuff either) All up came to about $1200 which I thought was very reasonable. If you live South East http://www.statustuning.com/ I haven't had Trent service my car only do some tuning and fitting of my computer and EBC, but I was very pleased with his work. I would go back and use him regularly only he is a bit far away for me to travel.
  8. If you have a look on page 8 there is some pics of my car there with rims on it. In terms of fitment my guards are standard e.g. no rolling. The front outside edge of the rim is pretty much flush with the guard. The rear is in ever so slightly, maybe 10mm. On the inside I reckon I have close to an inch of clearance from the inside of the wheel to the shock body. The overall height of my wheels is near enough identical to the 215/50/17 inch tyres I had on the car before. I could have my car alot lower without any clearance issues, I used to have it alot lower on my 17's but i kept scraping the underneath when going into the driveway and over speed humps so I raised it about an inch. Heres a couple of pics (FYI I run Greddy coilovers so not sure how this would compare to standard struts).
  9. RS4s wheels are 17 x 7.5 +30 I just replaced mine recently. Don't have them anymore as I sold them so I can't be much help on the measurement side of things.
  10. That looks awesome, I wasn't a big fan of your colour choice but seeing it now I think it looks great. Certainly grabs your attention but without being over the top. Hurry up and get the rest of it finished I want to see more pics.
  11. Just do it with the angle grinder, it cuts through it like a hot knife through butter and if you careful you can get it pretty neat. You may wish to give the edges a bit of a hand sand once your done though. Also you might want to tape up the painted areas your not cutting for a bit of protection just in case anything happens. Tape is heaps cheaper than a new paint job
  12. No don't do it, they are too narrow and they will sit in way too much. I have 19 x 8.5 +20 offset rims on a S2 Type S Stagea. My car is lowered and I have had no guard rolling and I get no scraping at all. You should go for at least 8.5 inch rims in about a +20 offset. Here is a pic of how my rims sit
  13. Theres a whole lotta junk going on in that trunk. Mommas got a fat arse!!!!!!!!!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha Some of the other cars look pretty good though. Only problem with any well sorted car in OZ e.g. Right Kit, Wheels, Stance it just screams out pig bait...
  14. I would be really interested to know if those plenums fit onto a RB25det NEO motor I have heard the way the plenums bolt up on a Neo are slightly different to a normal RB25det. Apparently they can be modded to suit but I have no real knowledge of exactly what is required. FYI greddy don't have a listing for a plenum for the RB25det NEO only the RB25det. I have read on the Nissan Silvia forums that some of the ebay plenums are quite good as a few people are using them there, Trent at Status has tuned a few cars with these plenums. The ones in particular are the ones from Thailand that go for about $699 and are apparently JUN copies. They do look the part but I don't know anyone with one. Might be another idea anyhows....
  15. The coilovers should fit on the rear as long as you have the correct lower mountings e.g. eyes for normal stageas or forks for manual stags. You will need to get the top hats modified though as the top hat on a Stag is a smaller diameter than that of a skyline. It is an easy mod for any suspension shop. Take the car into them with the shocks and show them what you want they'll probably charge you around $200 to do it I reckon.
  16. And did you know it comes in manual, I have heard a few M35 drivers mention they wished there cars had a manual option
  17. I must admit I had the same dilemna with mine. I always intended to put mine back in but after I eyed them up in the side vents after taking them off I don;t think they would look so good there. Maybe you should give it a go so that I can see what it would look like, still have my lights sitting in the shed
  18. Nah my bottom tabs are bolted up to the bottom rail. The tabs had a couple of bends in them and originally they were too short to meet the bottom rail. I just flattened them out a bit with a big hammer and that gave me the extra 1/2 an inch I needed to bolt them to the bottom rail. I used a couple of the standard holes I found there that are used for holding on the undertray. I must admit my fit is pretty snug, not ideal but its on and once it is on you can't notice. The only thing that annoys me is I have a ding in the back side of my intercooler where the top of the fan motor has pushed against the intercooler. Its not big maybe the size of a 20c piece but its still a bit annoying.
  19. Well I wouldn't be too pissed about the Cooling Pro fitment, I paid $1500 for my Greddy Front Mount on the assumption that it fitted straight on. It looks to be identical to the Cooling Pro ones (Think they must have copied the design lol) I experienced the same problem where the AC Fan hits the back of the intercooler. Also had to space the top bracket out by adding an extra nut so I could actually do up the intercooler. I also notice that you have a dayz front bar like mine, Had to do plenty of cutting too i see. I can only assume that these intercoolers were probably designed for std front bars. On the AC fan I am guessing that maybe certain models e.g. S2 stageas had a different fan that protudes more than others. Anyways once its on for a couple of weeks you'll forget the pain and enjoy the way the car looks with a nice shiny intercooler hanging out of the front.
  20. Thats a shame mate, It was a damn tidy260 too... I would be interested in the brakes and body kit if you end up parting it out.
  21. Find a good suspension shop and they should be able to advise you on a suitable pair of springs. I have a set of Greddy Coilovers and swapped the Greddy springs out for a set of Eibach items as I wanted a different rate of spring. The Eibach spring catalogue is huge they have virtually every combination of height / rate / diameter of spring you could imagine. I would budget around $400 - $500 for springs all around. A good suspension shop should be able to work out the diameter and height of the spring required and then it is simply a matter of choosing the spring rate. FYI I run an 8kg front spring with a 6.8 kg rear spring rate and I find this a good mix between something suitable for taking on the track and comfortable enough for daily use. If you want to be able to adjust the car ride height I would suggest looking at getting the Nismo shocks modified to include a threaded spring seat or invest in some bilstein shocks with circlip grooves or some adjustable coilovers. I am guessing that the reason the original springs have been cut is that the original owner wanted to lower the ride height hence the cut springs. (I have done that a number of times when I was younger, have outgrown that now though lol) Hope that helps ya mate, good luck
  22. Wheels are now sold, I still haev the following though. Standard S2 Discs, Pads and Calipers front and rears. All mint, Discs and pads have heaps of meat left on them. $500 the lot Standard S2 Intercooler. $150 Trust Airinx Pod filter
  23. Is your car a S2? If you have a neo motor I would have thought you would be producing closer to 200rwkw. (I am only guessing this based on the level of mods between your car and mine looks similar)
