  1. Well here is my dyno for an RS4 Type S, the car had the front drive shaft pulled (2wd Dyno) The car was also running 12 pounds of boost. Initially I had a Turbosmart boost tee and on the first tune I was only reaching 195kw. The boost wasn't stable enough. Swapped to an Electronic boost controller and the result was an 8kw gain. IMO go straight for an EBC and get the computer done at the same time e.g. Nistune or something and get it all tuned in one go you'll be very imporessed with the result, when you drive home it will feel like your driving a different car Mods are Trust FMIC Trust Blow Off Valve (Plumb back) Fujitsubo front pipe and Cat back Hi-Flow MetalCat E-manage Ultimate Gizzmo EBC
  2. You'll love em, I certainly like the improvement on my car. I also just fitted a UAS Brake stopper and that has made a noticeable difference to hard stopping, e.g. brake pedal feels a bit firmer. Only thing I am missing now is some steel braided lines. How are you going to approach brake lines Chucky? I have thought of going to somewhere like race brakes and getting a custom set made up but I am thinking if there are a number of people after brake lines it might be worth organising a group buy.
  3. Yeah I can relate to that, I have had R32 GTST sedan and a B4 Legacy in the past both with minor suspension improvements and I reckon the stag is at least on par if not better. I think it might have something to do with the weight, once you drop the stag down a bit and as long as you have a reasonable setup to control the roll of the car the stag just squats down on the road and handles like it is on rails. The only comment I would make is it does take a bit of time to get used to driving it fast as I think the driving style is somewhat different, I certainly wouldn't call it chuckable like a 180 or rx7 or something small like that. But on fast open roads I reckon the stag would be alot more stable than a little 180, it certainly would through highspeed bumps.
  4. FYI EBC Redstuff pads squeak like buggery, I have these with slotted rotors and my car squeaks everywhere. They are great once they are hot and they stop you bloody quick when you mash the pedal to the floor but I don't reckon they are that good for street driving. I would go for a less aggressive compund of you are looking at ebc pads either go green stuff or maybe some project mu pads they are pretty good, racebrakes stock them.
  5. Everyones going to have their own views but I reckon the following is a pretty good setup. Eibach springs 8kg front and 6kg rear. This will cost you around $600 I would say now with the exchange rates being what it is, but seriously worth the money Eibachs are the best springs around. You could also maybe get some Lovells but i have no direct experience with them. Shocks get good ones!!!!! The car will handle better and they will last it is a waste of time lowering a car on crap shocks and expecting it to handle well. Bilsteins, Koni, KYB actually do some good ones too. The majority of japanese cars use KYB shocks from the factory so they are well proven. I would budget around $1500 for shocks. Fit a set of Whiteline rear subframe alignment bushes, this firms the rear up a bit (Some might find it a bit hard for the road as it removes any give in the rear subframe but it is great for fast launches) Install a rear strut brace, this makes the car feel heaps stiffer through the rear end and for the price i reckon it is one of the best handling mods you can do get a greddy or cusco one say around $200. Leave the rollbars until you have done all of this and then see if it is still an issue. I have a Stag Type S so it has the same suspension setup as a 260 and I have done all of the above only I use a set of custom Greddy Coilovers with eibach springs as I like having the adjustable damping and height adjustment. I am still running the standard rollbars and I reckon my car handles pretty well and I can't see any need to change anymore at this stage. Hope that helps you
  6. Man thats one clean looking Volvo! First black S2 RS 260 I have ever seen...
  7. How about a Caldina these things are cool I saw a few in NZ when I was over in Xmas. I bet it would go like shit off a shovel 365 days a year for the next ten years. Gotta love that Toyota reliability... http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...9&D=6986709
  8. Hey, interesting discussion going on and all are good points. I am sure that you would enjoy an M35 Stagea its a very nice luxo barge (its never going to be a track weapon) but if its for the wife I am sure she'll love it. Just to throw a bit of fuel on the fire have you ever thought of a Toyota Caldina GT4. I was in NZ recently and I saw a couple and I was very impressed, If I hadn't already spent so much money on my Stag I would definitely be getting one of these. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...9&D=6986709
  9. I run an Emanage Ultimate on my s2 and I am very happy with it. The E-manage is wired into a field harness essentially making the whole unit plug and play. To revert to standard I just have to unplug the standard harness from the field harness and plug it back into the factory ecu. This is a great option if your car is a daily driver and you are concerned about getting defected for an aftermarket ecu. If I hadn't done the e-manage I would have gone down the nistune route I have heard good things about them.
  10. Aren't we all in some form, if it ain't the missus its work or the government
  11. Hey guys these rims are still for sale, make me an offer... Also I have the following now for sale. Standard S2 Discs, Pads and Calipers front and rears. All mint, Discs and pads have heaps of meat left on them. $500 the lot Standard S2 Intercooler. $150 Trust Airinx Pod filter, Girlfriend hated the noise so I have gone back to original airbox with a panel so this is no longer needed. $50
  12. I may be wrong here but I always thought that if you are the following vehicle and you run into the person in front of you then you are automatically at fault. My recollection of the road code is that you should always drive at a safe following distance just in case the car in front suddenly stops, swerves or something unexpected happens. I would take snap shots of the road your father in law was pulling out of and the location down the road before he was hit. This will indicate how much time / distance was available to the following driver to brake or take evasive action before the impact. If the accident spot is on top of the intersection then you probably have little case as the other driver can rightly say that your father in law pulled out in front of him and he had no time to react. But if the accident took place 50m down the road then that gives him ample opportunity to react and you could argue that him running into your father in law was a result of careless driving. Good luck with everything.
  13. Greddy / Trust do a return style intercooler specifically for the R34 GTT I have the same one fitted to my S2 Stagea. These bolt straight on with no mods. From memory they are slightly cheaper than the Blitz items also but they will still be more expensive than the Just Jap ones. I think I have also seen return style Cooling Pro kits for around $550 maybe do a search for these as I have heard these are pretty good.
  14. Yeah I feel for you buddy that sux, I have had the exact same thing happen to me before. This was a few years back and they were quite cheap rims but its no excuse for slack lazy bastards who have no respect for other peoples things.
  15. I think your rears might be close to the struts. I currently have 19 x 8.5 + 20 rims on my car front and rear. I have about an inch of clearance from the inside of the rim to the rear strut. With an inch wider rim and also the 10mm difference in offset it will be close to the strut tower. If you can test fit the rims I would check this for sure to make sure you have enough clearance. FYI mine is a manual version so has slightly different rear end setup so it may not be an issue with your car but it always pays to check.
  16. Any good performance shop that brings in import parts should be able to get a Fujitsubo Legalis R system for a C34 Stagea. I got mine about 18 months ago from a place here in Melbourne called Revzone. I got the Legalis R Catback and Front pipe all in 3 inch, it cost me $1600 fitted. Best purchase I have made for my Stag sounds great and goes hard and looks like a standard exhaust so no issues with police. Here is a link to the exhaust I have http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/product01.php?n...000000000002783
  17. If its any help i had a problem in my S2 where I was driving along and all of a sudden the dash went out and everything stopped working e.g. speedo, rev counter and so on. Car drove OK though, I went home and restarted it a couple of times and no change. I then tried taking out each fuse under the bonnet and gave each a little clean if they looked dirty, hey presto the dash works again. Maybe give that a go and see if it helps
  18. Hey 'Iamhe' I was just having a nosy at your post and I noticed you have an Emanage Ultimate to be installed. Can I say this was the best mod I have done to my car to date. I went from 163kw to 203kw at the wheels in my S2 C34 Stagea, this is on a Standard turbo with a Fujitsubo turbo back exhaust and Trust front mount. I would be really keen to see what gains you would get I expect you would get considerably more with a highflow turbo. One thing I found out whilst tuning was that an Electronic Boost Controller makes heaps of difference in smoothing out how the boost comes on and also holding high boost levels I would certainly recommend getting one. Also speak to Trent at Status tuning about getting the E-manage fitted he really knows his stuff. (If you haven't already)
  19. As the title says I am curious to know if you can buy brand new Autech or Nismo parts for the C34 Stagea. I have done a lot of searching on the net and I haven't yet found any clues on this. I have found parts on the Nismo site for the M35 Stagea but nothing for the C34. I am particularly interested in body kits specificly Nismo sideskirts and Autech S2 front and rear bumpers. I understand that these will be expensive but I am prepared to pay this for quality parts that fit well. So please help a fellow stag fan as the missus is getting fed up with me spending hours hunting Yahoo japan for these parts
  20. Heres a couple of pics of my stag with its new rims fitted. The rims are 19 x 8.5 +20 offset Axis Hiro's. They sit pretty good I think, almost flush with the body and I have no rubbing at all. It is amazing how the Stag swallows wheels as even though they are 19 inches in size they don't look big at all on the Stag.
  21. I have just replaced the rims on my Stagea and I now have the original wheels up for sale. They are the standard Nissan rims for the Type S Stagea and are 17 x 7 +30 offset. The tires have heaps of tread also. Don't know how good the tires are though they are Nexen in 215 x 50 x 17 size, they were brand new 18 months ago when I bought the car so they must have been put on by the dealer for compliance. The wheels are immaculate no scratches or gutter marks and they come with all of the centre caps and the original wheel nuts. I have attached a couple of pics of the wheels. I am asking $600 for the lot pickup only. I am located in Melbourne.
  22. ooh nice brakes Regarding wheels I have just fitted a set of 19 x 8.5 rims to my Series 2 C34. Standard rims were 17 x 7. My car is lowered on Greddy Coilovers and I have no issues with rubbing, the overall wheel height is virtually identical e.g. I went from a 215 50 17 to a 235 35 19 so no issues there. I believe a 245 45 18 would also give you an equivalent overall height. I think you will also find that all Stageas have more than enough room under the guards for 8 - 9 inch rim depending on offset. I am running a +20 offset as I wanted to bring the wheels out to sit close to the guards but anything in a +30 offset should work on your car I would have thought. definitely go for 18 or 19 inch rims Stags are big cars with big guards and they need filling. thats my 2c worth, hope that helps.
