  1. Well, I've done it now ! I was successful at Kobe auctions today, winning my first Skyline. It's a 1995 ECR33 GTSt Type-M 5-speed, Silver with Suspension. Exhaust. Airpod. Bodykit. Wheels. MD/CD. AFC. Turbo timer. 1-owner Clean car. Now I have to endure the wait for it to come accross by boat. Thanks to all who helped my make my decision on which to get , and who to get it off - The proceess has been pretty painless so far. So - does that make me a member of the "Silver Shadows/Ghosts" ?????? I can't rememeber what you guys call Silver 'Lines. Cheers all. Brendan PS - Not happy about hearing of this Northerb Beaches Blitz - Hope they calm down in about 4-6 weeks ;-) :uh-huh:
  2. I used Ric Shaw for my RX7 - thought they were rotary specialists ??? They were good though. They knew heaps aboout 12A, 13B and 20B. CAS were good too - I used them when I had my GTI Swift. CAS seem to be into Rex's and other stuff - Seen them putting unichips in C'Dores too. BF
  3. $324 per year - just got the bill. Money well spent @!!!
  4. Anyone tried Unique Autosports on Victoria Rd @ Castle Hill ?? They seem to have a large workshop and always have nice Sky's , Sil's, 300's around. BF
  5. Good stuff fellas - Combining audio and security is a good idea - I know not a lot of ppl like to talk security for fear of some theiving so and so being able to identify etc. However, I think the more said, the better informed we all are therefore the more secure we all are. I want to know about putting two alarms/imobilizers/tacking systems in the same vehilce. Also about physical security stuff you can do ?? Cheers, BF
  6. What's the deal with the Club thing ?? Is it happening ? If so where ? What are the conditions ? Cost ? Do you have to have a Skyline ? Where's all the info man ?? I've done heaps of searching !! Cheers, BF
  7. ie: Which systems are good / bad - Experiences, costs, pros, cons etc ?? Happy to share my experiences on Quicktrak --- Had it my VT SS - (modded) - No-one touched it ! When ever the alarm went off (inadvertantly) - within 5 mins, I'd have the call from Quicktrak. BF
  8. I'll do you 2 for 1 swap !! - 2 x immacualte R33's for the Paj ??
  9. I'm so comitted to getting a Skyline that I am selling my BRAND NEW Pajero (3 months old, 6 Years Wty, 9,000kms). So if anyone knows someone who wants to save $8,000+ off new price - E-mail me. ([email protected]) WTF did I ever buy a Pajero ??? I dunno - I thought it was a good idea at the time - Camping, Boating, etc.... My heart is telling me SKYLINE - so I have to get rid of the Paj. BF
  10. I think everyone that goes for an import is trying to save $$ and at the same time get value . What it comes down to (as birty says) is : How thrashed do these cars get ?? Is a mod'd one more thrashed than a stock one ? How can you tell ?? Is 'thrashed' the same here as it is in Japan ?? How do the japanese get to thrash their cars ?? Streets ?? Drags ?? Other ?? Does thrashed mean 'abosolutely buggered' or does it mean that it has had some hard traffic light hero yards ?? Lets look at WORST case scenario... highly mod'd car (that is obviously not a drifter or race car ie: no roll cage, normal suspension etc) - Can the Japenese get away with some of the stuff we can get away with (eg: no speed limit in NT, bad roads) ?? Can they do it constantly ?? Or do they just put heaps of mods on their cars to show off - and maybe do the odd burrrn here and there ? I spose the answer is : "it depends"... It's an educated guestimate lottery !! BF
  11. Hi All, So now I've signed up to get an import thru Geoff@Prestige..... Your advice/comments/experiences on which is better would be greatly appreciated ! Stock ?? or Modified ?? Here's my 2c: Stock- Pros: Not thrashed(maybe), You get what you see Cons: Expensive to mod, once here Modified- Cons: Could have been thrashed, lots of worn out bits Pros: Let someone else pay for mods - get good value for $$$ Thanks all , you've been heaps of help so far !!! I am...

Jim, Ryan, I see both your points - each has it's pro's and con's - Having thought about it some more, I don't want/need to have heaps of mods - I don't plan breaking the world speed record - I just want a nice clean skyline that looks good, goed good and sounds good. So I think something in the middle of a stocker and a majorly modified car. If I can pick up something that has a few mods - like wheels, suspension , zorst, pod, BOV - Then I don't have to pay for that stuff when I get it over - Cause I know I will end up modding it anyway !! BF

Yeah, I saw it - Too highly modified for my liking - Plus is was a 94 -- I'm after a 96. I get nervous when looking at a real highly modified car - Compliance, RTA, etc - Might cost an arm and a leg to get through these processes. Plus, (sorry to all those who like white, BUT white is last on my list !! ) I know 60% of skylines are white, but I heaps prefer Silver or Black, even Gunmetal! It's up to personal preference really - I would never knock a white skyline - cause after all, it is a skyline !!!! If someone realiable and trustworthy were to tell me that that white '94 would (guaranteed) get thu Compliance, RTA etc without spending extra $$$, I might have gon for it (if it were Silver) - Anyway, it was a farkin nice car !! Cheers, BF
