Very Happy today. Finally got to drive my Line today. Went to the compliance place to have a look and take some digi pics. The guy says, here's the keys, take it for a burn - Just don't let cops see you (no rego / plates) . Started her up - sounds sweet . Cat back 3" (Maybe 3.5") system - very straight too. Looks like it has 2 resonators and no muffler - Also Apexi type pod filter. 1st gear - whooosh second gear (standard BOV vents back thru the pod) - I plant it in 2nd - boost cuts in......, then rear wheels lose traction (is this normal) ??? Was on a normal road. Decide to take her back to the shop (only got to third gear) Took a look around - Luv the wheels 17" 6 spoke - R brand (R in Red) too dark to see it properly. Suspension very low & hard - Front spoiler has been scraped a little. Rear bumper has mark on it - looks a like rope mark where they tied it down on the ship. The car is filthy - needs a good detail. Apexi S-AFC included - I think it is an old one - It's got 5 (or so knobs on the front - Dunno if this is any good. Alll in all very happy.... And I get to tak it home in a week after engineering - Can't drive it tho, gotta wait for comp plates to come in. But while I'm waiting, the stereo will go in, and it will be getting a mega detail........ Cheers all - It's been a long wait !!

I spose what usually happens is, some good natured soul, will link it up to the appropriate forum - or the moderator will move, merge or copy the link ??? -
Geez, the VL Turbo even got a place in the Gallery - Pesonally, I wouldn't have wasted the disk space. Pity the flashes on the new Digital Cams isn't more powerful - mine has that prob too.

Hmmmm, me thinks we are talking "Knowledge Base" software - Useful only if people are willing to put the time in to categorising / inputting the different articles. A very useful tool - not sure if vBulletin can do this sort of thing. -
Me wonders if Skylines Australia Pty Ltd were to work out some sort of deal with an Insurer, whether or not, we may be able to get group discount on policies ?? Best to get club up and running in earnest with National numbers - so to bargain with more leverage to particular organisations. Would also need to be compedative - And also have some type of price protection. me thinking too much

I rang the dude at Port Kembla. He reckons he can do a reco & small hi flow for $800 (keeping the ceramic turbine) But for $1200 he can do a much better job and replace the ceramic turbine. Might be worth investigating a little more.....
-
I just Rang SunCorp - They won't insure my car whilst it is being complied. They will insure it when it is registered tho - (oviously) Anyone know who would insure whilst gettting complied - OR do I just have to wear the risk (not happy jan) Cheers,
-
Did you see PranK's car on the last page of Hot 4's - "At least he is honest" On ya PranK !
-
Australia's Best Tyre Service did a good job for me once.
-
I rang them - It's like hype said : Stage 1 - $2200 Stage 2 - $2400 Stage 1 for street use - more drivable Stage 2 for strip use - less drivable (assuming this means more boost comes on later) Both represent significant gains over standard - Not sure what 'significant' means. Both sides of the turbo are highflowed using exisiting housings. Ceramic turbine chucked our and replaces with a better one - All bearings replaced. Not sure, but I saw in another thread that a Hi Flow job coast $1300 - maybe that was just the compressor side ?? I spose when you are talking about a turbo - it's worth paying a bit more to get a professional job. Plus - it's still cheaper than a new/bigger turbo - Plus the look remains stock.
-
Thanks Meggala ! I'll look them up un the YP 2morrow.
-
Nick, do you have to take the front bar off ??? How hard is this ?? Cheers
-
Anyone point me in the direction of a reputable mob that can High Flow a stock R33 Turbo ??? Cheers,
-
I don't know what all you guys think - But the key is quality and value. Quality = the right product for the scope of the job at the right pricetag/pricepoint. Value = the intangable (spell) benefits you get from buying from that shop/person. Quality plus Value = win win situation. And no-one can argue with that. PS another key is - "once it is bought, don't look back" I know I am being deep here - SO DEAL WITH IT !

Maybe we should have a MUSTANG section - NOT !!!

Thread for Club status ??

Ship comes in Friday now - so GM Autos won't see it till Next week - Bummer !! -
Wouldn't that mean that the BOV isn't working as well as it could be??
-
Cool - Thanks. Looks like I got my first mod and project set !
-
Maybe I'll stick with the factory one - I do know that with a Pod on, the standard BOV vents a little back thru the POD.
-
Nick, Are the UAS ones easy to fit yourself ?? I mean - I'm not useless with a shifter and a screwdriver, but I wouldn't want to get myself in the 5hit. I assume all the bits and pieces like hoses and clamps etc come with the kit ?? Any one know indicitive power gains with a cooler like this ??
-
Damn, those wheels give me a woody !!
-
OK, what is (Manufacturer / Model / Brand) of a BOV that does a little of the 'schhhhhhhhh" sound , but won't be loud enough to get you in trouble with the cops ? (Oh, an not scare the Bejeezuz outa people on the street ??) Car = R33

How about someone start a thread for the status of the different chapters (states) for the club ?? OR maybe one thread for each state ?? I know Christian updates the main web page with the status, but I hardly ever go there - With a thread on the subject, everyone will have access and search capability, and feedback for the status of the club. It also would be good to see an agenda and time lines for what actions and milestones that each chapter is upto and is what is ahead of them ?? I spose, my motivations for this type of thing are twofold - 1) is that I am a project manager and I like to see projects like this clearly laid out (only 'cause I am intersted) and 2) My suspician is that one day, the club will start in earnest with the following rules, regulations, stipulations, etc a) Rule 1 B) Rule 2 c) Rule 3 d) Rule 4 When this day comes, people will say - "Why did we make (a) like that ? Or, (d) is a silly idea Or, I think (x) is a better way to achieve © - If you get what I mean. So by having a public forum with agenda, minutes, outcomes - people will know the reasons and the reasonings for the different decisions that come from Comittee/Board. I'm not saying every little pi55y little item be registered like this - only the big ones. Oh, and I also would note that it may slow down the whole process of getting the club up and running in a short timeframe - However, short term pain for long term gain ?? Again, my 2 bobs - Won't be offended if ppl shoot me down ....
