  1. Guys, lets keep the posts in line with the thread subject. Thanks
  2. 8astard Head !!! I'd love to see that setup dood !!! Still, mine sounds pretty good - It's good enough for me and I don't plan on entering any Sound offs -

Yeah - I share your concerns - However, I'm not so worried about someone knocking off my car , as I have two seperate top of the range alerms installed. I'm more worried about someone coming up to me with a gun, telling me to hand over the keys. That %hit is deadly. Short of carrying a baseball bat in the car - what do you do ?? There are too many Skylines getting ripped off these days.
  4. OK, you may have been monitoring my progress of the stereo install - Well, I got it all done today , put it all back to gether and guess what - Wild engine/alternator noise. Anyone recomend some power filters ??? Setup : 2 amps in the back - power and audio lines seperated, etc etc (I think I have done all the right things). OH, and BTW, yes I seperated the audio and power lines down alternate sides of the car.

  6. Trust me - I've just done it - 6x9's will not fit (in the rear) without radical rework. I just said 'stuff it' and bough the best pair of 6.5"s and put these in - However, they didn't go in factory - a bit of modding needed to be done. Suffice to say now I have a biatching stereo. Lose the 6*9's and put 6" in and put a 15" sub in the boot !! BF edit - I'm talking R33 BTW
  7. ditto - however, got stereo & boost guage installed instead ..........
  8. Pity the dofus that wrote the first article in the Daily Tele will prob never read Speed !!!
  9. Oh , P.S. I'll be selling the Nacamishi CD/Tuner plus Naca 5.25" splits with cross overs etc. If interested - I'll post in classifieds when ready to sell Damn nice speakers those Naca's - If I knew they were installed I wouldn't have bought the kickers. BTW - New Stereo pumps like a biatch.
  10. Dude, How will YOU get it to work ?????? :)
  11. Schweeeet - That's great news. ( that the car was recovered) However it blows that they did some damage. I guess you're just happy to get the car back in (sort of) one piece. Best news I've heard all week - (Except for ROOSTERS winning against Brisbane) Cheers,
  12. Hi Folks, Well, spent all week end puttin in stereo bits & pieces from old car into new line. Sony CDX-CA690X Head Unit Kicker 6.2 Splits at front Kicker 6.1 Splits at rear Kicker 12" Sub in boot Kicker Amp driving Sub Sony Xplode Amp driving Front & Rear 6.5"s Now, my car came from Japan with a Nacamishi Mini Disc - And the Sony has an AUX/MD input RCA. Now I've conected up the MD to the Sony, but when I press 'source' it never goes to the MD - The MD has a wire for Remote MD function - I take this to mean that this is the signal that tells the Head Unit that the MD is connected and also the activation line/signal for when the 'source' MD is selected. Anyone know how I can activate my MD from the Sony CDX-CA690X ??? - ie which wires go where to make it work ?? Many Thanks,
  13. Do the 6.5"s fit straight in ?? (the rear) Cause I just measured up and the diagonal centre to centre holes measured 6" Also, If you are putting splits in the back, where's the best place for the tweeter ?? And one more questions - If you had a pair of 5hit hot 6.5 splits and a pair of ordinary splits, would you put the good ones in the front and the ordinary ones in the rear ?? (Considering a 12" sub was going in the boot ??) Thanks,
  14. I might come along - So what's the actual deal here ? Nasho or Gong or Gong via Nasho ? What times etc ? Sounds like a bit of a late one for a Fri nite after a week of work, I'll be shagged - I'm not as young and full of energy as you whipersnappers.
  15. Folks, Our friends from the Silvia forums are having a Dyno Day on the 12th of Oct. All Welcome, see the below URL for details. http://www.silviansw.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1444
  16. I've got 2 hand held UHF CBs if someone wants to borrow one.
  17. Dammit - was on hols in NT - Got my car and everything now - I'm in for the next one !!
  18. Oh Yeah - Removing the wheels helps !!!!:bonk:
  19. Dave, the rear suspension is easy to take out. 1) Remove rear seat 2) Remove parcel shelf 3) Jack up the rear of the car 4) Undo two nuts at top of strut tower 5) Undo large nut at bottom of shock 6) Slide the bottom of the shock off the mount 7) Carefully remove the whole strut unit You can get spring compressors at any auto shop, they are quite cheap. HOWEVER, after I removed all my suspenmsion, cleaned it, greased it yup with vaso - the noise came back. Dave, let me know if you come up with a fix. Also, is your noise only at low speed and very small bumps ?? Cheers,
  20. Dino, I went thru Geoff at Prestige - Everything he said & did was 100% on the money. I would recomend him.
  21. Well done - Congratulations Goran !!! mmmmmmm me likes Turbos..........................
  22. Damn I'll be away
  23. No I don't have factory - I got Tanabe springs and shocks - They are damn stiff. When I had mine out, I couldn't compress with my weight ( And I weight 110kgs). There still was a little compression in the springs when out of the car - And I know these springs were stiff, so I thought it best to use comressers as I didn't want the top flying off and hitting me in the gob. Also, the strength of the spring is prolly why the top nut won't come off, it has been under compression for so long .....
  24. One problem I did have - when I removed the shocks/spring combination, using spring compressors, I tried to take the top bit off the shocks, to release the spring (basically wanted to test the shock with the spring off) - There's a12mm (i think) nut on the top of the shock - you need a shifter to stop the shock from turning when taking the top 12mm nut off the top of the shock - However, my bl00dy nut was on so tight I busted the top bit (that the shifter was holding) off the top of my shock - Now i'll never b able to take the spring off the shock. (Maybe with an angle grinder). May be a good excuse to get whole new back suspension ??? At least my squeaking has stopped.
  25. Man - That Blows - And so close to home too - Not happy Jan. Did any of the cars have any sort of security systems fitted ?? What does a fella have to do to protect his Skyline ?? Carry a sawn-off under the seat and have 2 pitbulls in the back ?? This suxoramma. Hope everything works out OK.
