  1. Hey thanks targethonda. These clips are awesome Did u notice in race 1 part 1, that when Skaiffe is talking to Eastlake he didn't actually say that he was looking forward to racing a holden next year?! All he said was that he was sad to see the Nissans go!
  2. I have an R33 GT-R and my friend has an R32. The R33 has slightly more torque and power as standard but that is masked by the extra weight, as is the extra braking from the brembos. The R32 feels more 'chuckable' because of being lighter too. One major difference is the way the Atessa hooks up. In the R32 the rears will spin a little more before the fronts engage, allowing a little more drift out of corners, whereas the R33 has a % pre-load on the front wheels and therefore engages quicker. Hope that helps a bit
  3. OK here's mine. Had a look at buying a setup but didn't like the prices. So I made my own... Only got around to getting a PS2 and GT4 about 6 months ago, but now with this baby I can get right into it!
  4. I had a similar decision to make not long ago, although it was either an s15 or a little bit more for an R33 GTR. Now i'll admit that I didn't actually take an s15 for a drive, but i haven't regretted my decision for a second. The s15 does look good, but no where near as tough IMO. Plus the much bigger power potential.... Nuff said.
  5. Just wondering if the cruise is open to all, or only to show entrants?
  6. From memory (and a very sketchy one at that) the Sierra's were pushin about 40 psi, and the GT-R's had about 600HP. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, like I said, just from memory. And of course today any type of car would be running faster due to changes/ugrades in technology etc. Bottom line is... The GT-R's were so good they had to give them weight penalties... and eventually ban them!
  7. No it's not normal. Yes the thrust bearing should have been changed. Get a second opinion from another mechanic. If he says it definitely sounds like the thrust bearing, then go back to the first one and demand to know why it wasn't changed when the clutch was done.
  8. I'd say about 420kW. 700hp x .75 = 525 kW 525 x .8 (approx 20% drivetrain loss) = 420
  9. I'm no gearbox expert, but I do know that even in neutral, with your foot off the clutch (therefore the clutch plate engaged to flywheel), the front shaft in the gearbox is spinning. Basically all gearboxes are the same. It sounds like the thrust bearing, which is something you replace when doing the clutch, not necessarily a gearbox reconditioning, or it can be done by itself if it's really a problem cos it will still involve removing the gearbox obviously.
  10. My 33 GT-R was broken into the same way; screwdriver in behind the handle. Main damage was to the handle unit itself. Ignition barrell was ripped out too and bottom half of steering column shroud was cracked. Only reason they didn't get the car was coz of the immobilizer. I went to Adelaide Jap and picked up: door handle $65 ignition barell (no key) $135 shroud $35 Recoding of the ignition barrell to suit my key was $40 by a locksmith. In the end it turned out a bit cheaper than I expected. All i had to do was a few coats of paint on the new handle... sweeeet. Wouldn't mind gettin some of those pizo screamers for the inside tho
  11. Ended up goin to Adelaide Jap and picked one up for $135 with no key, then $40 for the locksmith. They had a R33 one so there was no problems. Thanks.
  12. The story goes, I had my car broken into on the weekend and they ripped out the ignition barrel. At the moment i have my eye on a second hand r32 gtr barrel, but only because i haven't found a new r33 one anywhere yet, although one of these would be prefferable, depending on the price. The steering lock mechanism was damaged as well, so the whole lot has to be changed.
  13. does anyone know if you can use a r32 gtr ignition barrel in an r33 gtr? and how hard is it to swap one over yourself?
